Chapter 1481 I Won’t Stand By and Watch

After ten o'clock in the evening, Yu Zhiming and Qing Ning, who were at home, waited for Zhou Mo, who looked tired.

After listening to Zhou Mo's account of what happened in the studio that night, Yu Zhiming asked, "Did he just fall and die?"

Zhou Mo nodded and said with a bitter face: "He just fell down and lay on the floor motionless."

"At first we thought the person had just fallen unconscious, but when he didn't move for nearly a minute, we realized something was wrong. When we checked, we found that he had stopped breathing and his heartbeat had stopped."

"We quickly performed CPR on him and called 110 and 120, but we couldn't save him in the end."

“Damn it!”

Zhou Mo suddenly cursed and lamented, "It's so unfortunate that I have to face such a bad fate."

Yu Zhiming comforted Zhou Mo: "Don't feel guilty or worry. This is not your fault."

"He's only 26, not 70 or 80 years old. The fall was probably just the trigger. It's likely that this guy has a fatal problem with his brain or heart."

"An autopsy will definitely reveal the specific cause."

Qing Ning suddenly asked, "Momo, you said that person had disgusting photos on his phone. What were they?"

Zhou Mo replied: "It's a photo of a man and a woman doing that, but there are many people together, it's extremely disgusting."

Qing Ning wanted to ask about the content of the photo, but Yu Zhiming glared at her and she shut up.

Zhou Mo hesitated for a moment, then whispered, "Well, that guy fell because Zhong Chunxiao tripped him."

"No one on Tong Shao's side saw it, and Zhong Chunxiao didn't say anything, so I pretended not to see it. I just told the police that he was chasing me to steal my phone and suddenly fell down."

Zhou Mo further explained, "I think it's not a good idea to involve Zhong Chunxiao. She's also trying to help me."

Yu Zhiming pondered and said, "Whether he fell or was tripped, it is unlikely to be the main reason."

"Another possibility is..."

He further analyzed: "He discovered that you had seen the disgusting photos on his phone, and he became too nervous or frightened, causing his blood pressure to rise sharply, leading to the rupture of a blood vessel in his brain."

"This fall may have been caused by him losing consciousness."

Zhou Mo sighed again and said, "I know it's mainly due to his own fault. But no matter what, this happened because I stole his phone."

"That guy's parents pointed their finger at me in the hospital and accused me of killing their son."

Qing Ning said coldly, "When something goes wrong, you put the blame on others. It was him who ignored my advice and filmed it first."

Yu Zhiming also expressed his stance: "Zhou Mo, don't worry or be afraid. We will not stand idly by and ignore this matter."

When Zhou Mo heard this, he felt relieved, and then his nose started to feel sore.

"Doctor Yu, Qing Ning, thank you!"

Qing Ning held Zhou Mo's hand and said, "Given our relationship, it's a bit awkward to say this."

"Hey, is this a commercial shoot?"

Zhou Mo sniffed hard and said, "Tonight's filming has been stopped since the accident."

"Because Zhong Chunxiao wasn't involved, the police didn't say anything after investigating and taking notes, so tomorrow's filming shouldn't be affected."

Yu Zhiming said, "Just wait for the autopsy results. The follow-up of this matter will be handled by the lawyer. You don't need to come forward in person."

Zhou Mo nodded and said "hmm", then her stomach growled twice.

"Haven't you eaten yet?" Yu Zhiming asked with concern.

Zhou Mo pouted and said, "I had planned to finish shooting the print ad in one go before going out for dinner with Zhong Chunxiao, but I didn't expect such an accident to happen."

"I went to the hospital, answered the police's questions, and then rushed back. How could I have the time or mood to eat?"

Qing Ning stood up and said, "No matter what happens, we still have to eat."

"What do you want to eat? I'll ask Aunt Qiu to make it."

Zhou Mo touched his belly and said, "I really don't have much appetite. Aunt Qiu, please make some dumplings."

At this time, Yu Zhiming's cell phone rang.

It's a call from Dean Li Yao...

Yu Zhiming answered the call and heard Li Yao's voice, "Zhiming, I heard that your assistant Zhou Mo had an incident tonight. A young man died because of her?"

Yu Zhiming first briefly recounted the events he had heard from Zhou Mo, then asked into the phone, "Dean, how did you know about this?"

Li Yao said on the other end of the call, "The deceased's parents found out about your relationship with Zhou Mo, and then used some connections to find me."

After a pause, Li Yao continued, "According to what they said, the police's preliminary assessment is that the death was caused by natural causes. A mandatory autopsy is unlikely to be necessary. A preliminary examination of the body revealed no signs of trauma, drug use, or brain hemorrhage."

"They don't want their son to have an autopsy. They want you to examine their son and find out the specific cause of death."

Yu Zhiming didn't answer but asked, "Since they know about my relationship with Zhou Mo, aren't they afraid that I might be biased or conceal something, and thus produce biased findings?"

Li Yao said softly, "I've asked this question too."

"They said they believed in your medical skills and ethics, Zhiming, and that you wouldn't distort the facts. Now they want to know the cause of their son's death, but they don't want him to be autopsied."

"You are the only one who can do this."

Yu Zhiming glanced at Zhou Mo and said, "He fell and died. To be honest, I'm also very curious about the cause of his death."

"Dean, I promised..."

Yu Zhiming ended the call with Li Yao, and Zhou Mo's voice rang in his ears again.

"Doctor Yu, because of me, you can't even rest on your rare Sunday."

Yu Zhiming chuckled and said, "What I said to Dean Li sparked my serious curiosity, and I wasn't lying."

“Also, exploring unsolved mysteries not only improves oneself, but also provides a pleasant break for the body and mind.”

Zhou Mo asked softly again: "Doctor Yu, can you tell whether he fell on his own or was tripped?"

Yu Zhiming thought for a moment, then shook his head and said, "I probably can't tell the subtle difference between being tripped and falling down on my own."

"However, whether he fell to his death, or fainted or died suddenly before the fall, can still be checked."

Zhou Mo asked: "Is there a big difference?"

Yu Zhiming nodded and said, "If someone is still conscious before falling, they will subconsciously avoid it."

"The location and severity of the injury are very different from a person who has collapsed unconscious or is dead."

Zhou Mo said thoughtfully, "I feel like he just fell straight down without making any evasive movements."

"So, he died before he fell?"

Yu Zhiming chuckled and said, "Don't think too much. I'll check it tomorrow and everything will be clear..."
