"Good morning," Rex said as he came downstairs. Xia Xiang was already eating breakfast.
Rex pointed to the person coming out of the kitchen and asked, "Who's this?"
"Oh, I met her at the foot of the mountain when I went for my run this morning. She was selling herself to bury her husband."
As Xia Xiang finished speaking, the young maid took out a small white handkerchief and wiped away non-existent tears from the corners of her eyes.
"But didn't you refuse when the chairman suggested having a maid come and help? Is that appropriate?"
Rex sat down next to her naturally and asked, "And I don't like having strangers in my house."
"Her name is Xiao Cui, now you know her, right?" Xia Xiang thought about the housework at home and decided to pretend she didn't know.
Xiao Cui, sensing the situation, bowed and said, "Young master, this servant is Xiao Cui."
“I don’t like having strangers in my house,” Rex said, frowning.
"Well, there's nothing I can do about it," Xia Xiang shrugged.
"If you take on the housework and we take turns cooking, I have no objection."
“I agree,” Rex agreed immediately, then turned to Xiao Cui and said, “You can go now.”
Xiao Cui is already drenched in sweat. Has her mission already ended before it even began?
Master! I have failed!
"Waaaaah~" Xiao Cui immediately collapsed to the ground and began to sob.
"Miss, you gave me money to bury my deceased husband, so Xiao Cui is yours now. Please don't send Xiao Cui away!"
"How pitiful~" Xia Xiang looked at the scene calmly. "Niannian, look how pitiful this girl is, let's take her in."
Rex: "The vote will decide. If it's a tie, then I'll do it!"
Xia Xiang complained, "It's just the two of us, no matter how we vote, it's a tie!"
“Then just kick them out,” Rex said firmly.
Xiao Cui: Master! I failed again! Waaaaah—
“If we’re going to vote, then to ensure fairness, all family members must participate,” Xia Xiang said.
“Sure, if you agree to this, I won’t say anything,” Rex grinned. “There are only the two of us living here, no other family members.”
The next second, Xia Xiang directly brought out the tool monkey that had only appeared three times—Xiao Yi.
"Xiao Yi, if you agree to let Miss Xiao Cui stay at home, raise both hands," Xia Xiang said to Xiao Yi.
Little Yi obediently raised both hands.
"Two to one, you lost." Xia Xiang rewarded Xiao Yi with a banana.
"Xia Xiang!!!" Rex exclaimed in shock, "Where did this monkey come from?!"
“My pet is a family member, you know,” Xia Xiang said, stroking Xiao Yi’s fur. “I’ll let it live in the small room with the window across from me. I’ve already bought it all the furniture.”
"Cui, you can stay here from now on." Xia Xiang handed Xiao Yi to Xiao Cui. "Oh, don't touch the furniture when it arrives. I'll assemble it when I get back from school. You just need to clean up."
Xiao Cui stared at the bright-eyed monkey in her arms. The joy of success was hard to come by. Why did she feel that the monkey was looking at her as if she were a clown?
"Let's go, go upstairs and change clothes. Aren't we going to the president's training ground?" Xia Xiang pulled Rex away, who hadn't even finished his breakfast, leaving Xiao Cui and Monkey staring at each other.
"Xia Xiang, why did you keep that... person?" Rex asked, the name Xiao Cui was too hot to handle!
"What the chairman meant was that I refused the maid he sent, so he put on this show." Xia Xiang packed her things.
"You have a problem with the president?" Rex asked, frowning.
“No, not at all,” Xia Xiang said. “It’s just that I’m a sensitive person. He looked at me like that the moment he arrived. How could I possibly like him?”
