Chapter 180 Birthday Party

"Old Na, are you ready?" Xia Xiang had her hair tied in a high ponytail, and her black suit jacket made her look particularly energetic. Her beige long skirt reached her calves, and she wore a pair of black Martin boots.

She crossed her arms and looked down through the huge floor-to-ceiling window at the bustling crowd of people arriving for the banquet.

"Ready?" The guy, in the same pose as her, raised his hand and pressed the miniature earpiece he was wearing when she mentioned it. "When the time is right, our people will be there."

"Okay, let's go get my birthday present." Xia Xiang put a pure white pen into the breast pocket of her suit jacket and led the guy downstairs.

Second floor conference room

Yehenara Xiongba sat at one end of the enormous long table, with Lanling Wang standing behind him. Xia Xiang sat below him, and Yehenara Sisi, with a smug expression, sat on the other side.

Then, the elders of the Yehe Nara family sat in order of their rank and faction, followed by the other ministers of the Yehe Nara family.

"Today is my granddaughter's birthday, and also the day my Yehenara family will decide on its heir. Thank you all for coming," Yehenara Xiong Ba said politely.

"Sect Leader, why isn't Second Master here?" someone standing on Yehenara Sisi's side suddenly asked.

The man received a faint glance from Yehenara Xiongba.

"I think that as Miss Yu Ying's elder, Second Master should also be present. Otherwise, her succession wouldn't be as widely expected, would it?"

Xia Xiang pursed her lips, controlling herself from laughing. This warrior seemed to be on the enemy's side, but he probably wanted to sit down next to her.

"Today is for you to recognize who the true heir of the Yehenara family is. Don't choose the wrong side or bite the wrong person!" Yehenara Xiong Ba said calmly.

“Uncle, our ancestors said that people should be appointed based on merit,” Yehenara Sisi said. “When there is disagreement about the choice of successor, the elders also have the right to decide…”

"What's the disagreement?" Xia Xiang stared at him with a half-smile. "I'm the only junior in the Yehenara family, so how about passing it on to my old, weak, and intellectually challenged second uncle?"

"You!" Yehenara Sisi was immediately enraged and angrily pointed at Xia Xiang.

“I’m here, Second Uncle,” Xia Xiang said with a smile. “Of course I’ll listen to Second Uncle’s opinion since I’m so polite. Second Uncle may not love the young, but I respect the elderly.”

"I agree with my second uncle's statement, let's vote."

Yehenara Sisi's expression softened considerably after hearing Xia Xiang's words. These elders knew better how to protect themselves. Xia Xiang had appeared suddenly and hadn't yet matured, so these old men wouldn't easily take sides.

Even if those who previously supported his good older brother were on her side, and even with the elders from the sect leader's faction, they didn't represent more than half. If they didn't choose Xia Xiang, the successor couldn't be decided today, and it was uncertain who would follow.

"Go ahead and throw it," Yehenara Xiongba said without saying anything more.

Apart from the warrior who spoke at the beginning and a few elders from the second branch, all the other elders voted for Xia Xiang.

"Second Uncle, as a junior, I advise you to accept your age," Xia Xiang said with a smile. "You've brought shame upon yourself; it doesn't look good."

"Hmph!" Yehenara Sisi got up and left without anyone stopping her.

What's wrong with those old men? Even those who weren't on the sidelines voted for Xia Xiang! Why?! On what grounds?!

"Alright, everyone, you can go down to the banquet now." Yehenara Xiong Ba stood up, and Xia Xiang also stood up to help him downstairs.

Downstairs, the ladies and wives had already gathered in small groups according to their own factions, chatting and laughing.

After everyone came down, they all looked at them quietly. The one who received the most attention was Xia Xiang, who was standing next to Yehenara Xiong Ba.

Yehenara Xiongba first gave a speech, then solemnly introduced Xia Xiang, followed by a dance party that made everyone's feet hurt.

"Granddaughter, would Grandpa have the honor of inviting you, the birthday girl and the future head of the Yehenara family, to dance for us?"

Today, Yehenara Xiongba was not wearing his usual all-white outfit, but rather a well-tailored black suit, making him look like a charming older gentleman.

"Of course," Xia Xiang replied with a smile.

Music began to play in the hall, and melodious dance tunes echoed throughout.

Everyone found their dance partners, and for a moment, the people in the hall were all gracefully moving to the music, creating a very harmonious atmosphere.

"Little Ying, if only you had lived in my Yehenara family since you were born," Yehenara Xiong Ba suddenly exclaimed.

Xia Xiang was taken aback at first, then said directly, "Grandpa, wasn't I born into the Yehenara family?"

“Of course not,” Yehenara Xiongba said, “and I also know that you haven’t lost your memory at all.”

"I'm curious, how do you retain your memories?" Yehenara Xiongba asked, his brows slightly furrowed but a smile on his face.

Xia Xiang was too lazy to pretend anymore. She raised an eyebrow and said, "This is a secret, I can't tell you."

"How did you gain the support of those elders who had always remained neutral?" Yehenara Xiongba asked.

Xia Xiang said speechlessly, "Simple... my ass."

She certainly used coercion and enticement, along with spies, the Gulaier family, and her father's old subordinates. Most importantly, she owed it all to the spies who gave her incriminating evidence against them.

"Then can you tell Grandpa what your plans are for the future?" Yehenara Xiongba asked.
