Chapter 263 Playing

The moonlight was too bright tonight, and it couldn't hide Xia Xiang's flushed face at all. She could only push Jiu Wu away and hide herself under the covers.

"My little fatty, are you avoiding me again?" Jiu Wu asked directly.

"No," Xia Xiang replied insincerely, her mind a jumble of thoughts.

“Very good.” Jiu Wu looked at her with his bright black eyes, tightened his arms, and hugged her even tighter. “I’m so tired, I’ll hold you and sleep for a while.”

Jiu Wu believed Xia Xiang; if she said no, then no.

Xia Xiang felt a pang of pity looking at his trusting expression.

She currently has no way to contend with Huai'an, no way to break the curse lock, and no way to watch Jiu Wu wait for a fruitless outcome.

"Jiuwu, I want to go to our seaside cottage," Xia Xiang said softly, her wrists, which were tucked under the covers, burning and stinging.

"Okay," Jiu Wu opened his clear eyes, showing no sign of sleepiness.

——

In front of the cottage, the two sat close together on the wooden railing, watching the sun slowly rise.

"Have we never danced before?" Xia Xiang suddenly asked. "It might look silly, but I want to try it."

“Okay,” Jiuwu gestured invitingly, and the two of them began to waltz slowly on the beach, barefoot.

By the time Jiu Wu realized something was wrong, it was too late. The array patterns on the beach enveloped the two of them, and a flash of white light disappeared.

"What is this?" Jiu Wu asked, somewhat puzzled.

“A formation that can connect our lives together.” Xia Xiang released him and took two steps back.

"What do you mean? What if I die, will you die too?!" Jiu Wu asked nervously. "Little Fatty, what are you doing! Untie me!"

According to their family tradition, he is probably only in his forties at most. If he dies, what will happen to his little fat son?

This was the first time he had ever thought about this question, and he was immediately filled with regret. How could he have not noticed it before?

"Yes, but if I die, it won't implicate you." Xia Xiang looked at his anxious expression, suppressed the bitterness in her chest, and said calmly.

"Why? I'm really angry this time! You didn't even ask for my permission before going this far?" Jiu Wu was agitated and took two steps forward to pull her up, but Xia Xiang immediately took two steps back and dodged his hand.

What if he dies, or is killed by some powerful enemy? Then his little fat boy will be gone too. What a joke!

"This is compensation," Xia Xiang said in a cold voice, as if her heart had been gripped tightly.

"I only trust you, and I trust that you can protect the Xialanxingde family and the Yehenara family during your reign. This is my compensation to you. You can share my life."

Xia Xiang looked at him with tears in her eyes and said, "As long as I don't die, you will never die."

"Why? I disagree! How can you be so careless with your own life!" Jiu Wu was so anxious that he wanted to pry open Xia Xiang's head to see what she was thinking!

"What exactly do you mean?!" Jiu Wu suddenly had a bad feeling.

"I find this utterly pointless," Xia Xiang said coldly, as if she had made up her mind. "I'm not playing along with this childhood sweetheart game."

"Don't you remember? I've never liked your type. You're too immature, and it makes me feel tired. I like someone more mature than me, like Huai'an."

When Huai An was mentioned, Xia Xiang spat at him in her heart, but on the surface she continued to break up with Jiu Wu.

Jiu Wu laughed in exasperation, "Stop joking, okay? You could never like him."

"I just like him. I was only with you because you're so annoying. I had a fight with him, so I was just playing around with you." Xia Xiang continued speaking coldly.

"Oh, no, we were never together at all."

Jiu Wu was completely stunned, staring at Xia Xiang with red eyes, unable to believe her words at all.

"If you keep saying that, I'll really get angry."

Xia Xiang took Jiu Wu Fu Rui Si to a room, hung the key to the cottage on his hand, packed all the gifts he had given her into boxes, and piled them up in rows around his feet, surrounding him.

"This subordinate takes his leave," Xia Xiang said, forcing an extremely awkward smile before turning and leaving without looking back, without the slightest hint of lingering affection.

She was genuinely afraid that Huai'an, that idiot, would kill someone directly. Although Jiu Wu was also an existence capable of influencing the order of spacetime, Huai'an's thought process was completely abnormal.

Wait, why doesn't that idiot Huai'an just kill him? It's probably for that damned spacetime order.

At this moment, Huai'an, who was being constantly cursed by Xia Xiang, was in the Demon Realm, where he overturned the Demon Lord Diablo with a single palm strike.

"Flame Messenger, you've shown favoritism again?" Diablo, the Demon Lord.

"I came here on orders," Huai'an replied coldly. "How I am is not for you to judge."

"If I were to show favoritism, it wouldn't be me who came."

"Your unchanging, aloof attitude is truly annoying," Diablo laughed.

"What you're doing to her now is the same as what you did to me back then, and the result will naturally be the same. I'm just helping you."

"What kind of ugly thing are you? How can you be like her?" Huai'an said, giving him another slap, but not with his full strength.

"You can be so arrogant in front of me now entirely because of that little idiot. Not only are you not grateful to him, but you also bully me like this. Hypocritical!"

Huai'an ignored him, gave him another good warning, and left. Then he ran into the last person he wanted to see.
