Chapter 266 Wedding

Time flies, and the day of the joint entrance examination arrived. Xia Xiang, Hu Yanjing, and Ren Chenfeng took the exam together, but Xia Tian was unable to participate due to a mission.

After the exam, Xia Yu waited outside to pick them up.

Xia Yu was surrounded by many junior students who admired him, as well as school leaders. He was extremely busy, but after seeing Xia Xiang come out, he said goodbye to everyone and walked towards them with a smile.

Xia Xiang looked around and caught sight of two familiar figures. She quickly turned away and pretended not to see them.

[Why is Jiu Wu here? I haven't seen him for a few days, and I actually miss him a little. But he's really awful; we've already broken up, yet he's still hanging around in front of me.]

"What's wrong?" Hu Yanjing noticed Xia Xiang's unusual behavior and asked in confusion.

"They must be tired," Ren Chenfeng said, his keen senses alert. He noticed Jiu Wu and Jiu Lai, but seeing that Xia Xiang didn't want to talk about it, he interrupted.

In the corner

"Brother, are you here to wait for Xia Xiang? Why aren't you going over?" Jiu Lai asked, somewhat puzzled.

"She probably doesn't want to see me right now. If I show up, she'll have to go to great lengths to slip away again." As Jiu Wu spoke, he looked over again, but the others were no longer there.

He dared not voice his true feelings. What if the brooch was useless? He was afraid of disturbing her. What if she discovered something and stopped wanting to see him?

He had been waiting these past few days, but hadn't received any messages from her, which showed that this passive skill only worked when they could see each other.

"I'm leaving," Jiu Wu said and then walked away.

Subsequently, Xia Xiang and the other two successfully gained admission to National Taiwan University and chose to study law.

However, Xia Xiang directly applied for a leave of absence from school.

——

Xiong Ge and Ye Siren chose a date to hold a second wedding ceremony, which also celebrated Xia Xiang's admission to National Taiwan University.

The wedding was held on the lawn of the newly rebuilt Xia Mansion, with many guests coming and going, all happily celebrating the couple who had gone through so much hardship.

"Xia Xiang, I heard you're planning to drop out of school?" Gu Baobei asked.

"Yes, take a year off." Xia Xiang's impression of him had improved because of Gu Baobei's previous help, and she was still quite polite.

"What about your work in the Imperial Guard? Has the Alliance Leader agreed to it?" Gu Baobei asked.

“He doesn’t know yet,” Xia Xiang said, eating the bittersweet little cake in her hand. “I’ll make sure to tell him before I leave.”

In fact, she had already handed over all her work to the captain of the South City Guard.

"Oh, when are you coming back?" Gu Baobei's eyes were wandering, so she didn't notice Xia Xiang's distraction.

She deliberately didn't tell Jiu Wu; she didn't want to face him.

People are always like this: they don't cherish each other when they're together, but they start to regret it when they break up, even if they were forced to separate.

She used to think that a good start in a relationship could end amicably, but now she feels that no one can compare to Jiuwu.

They can't be together now, so why get too close to him and hurt yourself and others?

However, she really missed him, so much so that she couldn't help but want to cry when she thought about him.

If it were in the past, she would have despised herself for who she is now, but now that she has experienced it firsthand, she knows how difficult it is to love someone you can't have.

"Why are you crying?!" Gu Baobei asked in a low voice, somewhat at a loss, seeing her eyes immediately redden.

"I'm happy," Xia Xiang said, then quickly left the scene and hid in a deserted corner.

Gu Baobei was about to chase after them when Hu Yanjing and Ren Chenfeng suddenly appeared and pulled her away.

——

Xia Xiang composed herself but didn't want to go out. She just wanted to be alone for a while, but the noise behind her interrupted her thoughts.

Turning her head, she saw a handsome young man looking at her awkwardly.

The boy wore gold-rimmed glasses, a white shirt, and a uniquely shaped obsidian brooch. His black suit pants made his legs look exceptionally long.

"Are you lost?" Xia Xiang asked first when the other person didn't say anything.

"Yes, I'm really sorry to bother you." The boy's voice was gentle, which calmed people down a lot.

"Just walk along the path by the garden, past a patch of purple hydrangeas, go straight into that house, walk through the hall, and then past the small pond with the rockery. That's where the wedding venue will be," Xia Xiang described the route to him in detail.

"I have a slightly bad sense of direction, could you guide me for a bit?" the boy asked after a moment's thought.

"Sure," Xia Xiang said, thinking they'd been sitting there too long. "Let's go together."

"Are you here for the wedding too?" the boy asked.

"No, it's my parents who are getting married," Xia Xiang replied politely.

"So you're Xia Xiang?" the boy asked with a surprised expression.

"Doesn't it look like it?" Xia Xiang forced a smile, squinting at him. "Then what's your name?"

The boy, Huyan Jue Luo Wu, introduced himself with a gentle smile.

Xia Xiang suddenly felt a sharp pain in her chest, as if she had been shot with an arrow, and then asked, "How come I've never seen you before? I know almost everyone in the Huyan Jue Luo family."

[What kind of dance? What kind of dance? Why call it a dance of all things?!]

“I don’t often go out, nor do I serve in the Imperial Guard, so it’s normal that you don’t know,” the boy replied calmly.

"Alright, that's it. Go ahead and do it yourself. I have other things to do, so I won't go with you. Have fun." Xia Xiang forced a smile.

“I’ve heard about you and the leader,” the boy suddenly said. “We’ve hit it off. If you have any sad things to tell me, you can confide in me. Anyway, we won’t see each other again.”
