Chapter 391 Departure

Three months passed faster than expected, but it was enough for Xia Xiang to arrange everything properly.

All affairs of the Alliance gradually got on track and became more and more standardized.

The day Jiu Wu emerged from seclusion was Xia Xiang's birthday. He thought he could happily celebrate her birthday with her, but who knew that Xia Xiang, that heartless little thing, left that very afternoon.

Moreover, she didn't have time to celebrate her birthday. She had said a week in advance that she wouldn't be celebrating her birthday, and on the morning of the birthday, she was so busy that she just went home to say goodbye and left.

After a few minutes of silence, Jiu Wu immediately returned to normal.

"I'll be guarding the Iron Dimension now. Tell Xia Tian and Lanling Wang to coordinate their schedules so they can focus on their cultivation," Jiu Wu instructed. "The Imperial Guards should also intensify their training and be ready for battle at any time."

Although it's unclear why the Demon Realm stopped its attack, they didn't retreat either. Even with the Grand Alliance now able to coordinate reinforcements from other timelines, their own strength still needs to be enhanced.

The night was cold and desolate. Exhausted, Jiu Wu returned to his room. Looking at the room, which was as clean as a showroom, he felt an indescribable sadness. The heartbreak of being abandoned by Xia Xiang, that scumbag woman, poured into his heart like icy spring water, making him feel completely cold and dejected.

"She didn't say goodbye to me, so I'm just taking over her room. That's fair." Jiu Wu slammed his door shut and headed towards Xia Xiang's room, still smiling to himself, "Smart as I am."

He's been training incredibly hard these past three months, and then he took over the affairs of the Iron Dimension again after that. Even an iron man couldn't keep up like that. If he were sleeping in his room tonight, he definitely wouldn't be able to sleep well.

Exhausted, Jiu Wu didn't even turn on the light. He went straight to the bedside, lifted a corner of the blanket, touched Xia Xiang's pillow, and fell asleep.

In the middle of the night, he suddenly felt as if his hands and feet were restrained by something, and as if a heavy object was pressing on his chest. This uncomfortable yet familiar feeling gradually woke him up.

He looked up and saw Xia Xiang sleeping soundly on his chest...

His emotions shifted constantly between shock and surprise. He slowly broke free from her embrace, leaned against the headboard, and quietly watched her sleep.

The little girl's features have matured a lot. Her once childish face was sometimes mischievous and sometimes cute, but now her features have become increasingly sharp.

But he liked her as long as it was her.

When I first saw this little girl, I thought she looked just like a soft, fluffy strawberry cake. He likes what he likes, and there's nothing wrong with that, right?

Later, one of his friends jokingly said that he was like the little guy's childhood sweetheart. He thought that friend's description was very apt, and he wasn't exactly a fool.

From then on, he identified himself as her childhood sweetheart, so that their relationship would appear to be the closest.

The old man and his master both smiled and agreed. Their last worry was gone; the little thing was theirs.

Later, she went to Bamo Island and learned about his father, who then told her to stop having any other ideas, as they were no longer on the same path.

Fortunately, he persevered...

His master and Jiu Lai often tried to persuade him, but he didn't want to give up.

Sometimes he would think that if they weren't together, she wouldn't be in such a difficult position, and he wouldn't be so sad.

But the thought of not having her in his future life made him a thousand times sadder, and he really wondered if this brat had bewitched him.

"I didn't make things difficult for you, nor did I use any spells on you," Xia Xiang said, looking up at Jiu Wu with sleepy eyes.

Upon hearing her voice, Jiu Wu instantly snapped back to reality, his cheeks flushing slightly.

"Didn't you leave?" Jiu Wu couldn't hide the joy in his voice.

Is she not leaving? Judging from Yan Zheng's tone, it seems she'll be walking for a long time. Since she's here now, does that mean she doesn't need to leave?

"I was about to leave, but I missed you," Xia Xiang said frankly. "So I decided to see you first."

"How long will it take for you to come back?" Jiu Wu pressed her face against his heart, not letting her see his disappointed expression.

"It could be as short as a few months, or as long as two to three years," Xia Xiang said with a hint of helplessness.

Jiu Wu paused in stroking her hair, letting out a barely perceptible sigh, "Alright, be careful."

"I'm sorry, Brother Jiuwu, for making you wait again." Xia Xiang snuggled against his chest affectionately.

Then she suddenly sat up and said, "Why don't you stop waiting and find someone else to date? I, Xia Lanxingde Xiang, am going to dedicate my life to the cause of good and evil, I don't have time for dating."

"You! Shut up!" Jiu Wu rudely pushed Xia Xiang's head back down. "If you hadn't come back, I would have been alone for the rest of my life. Are you satisfied now?"

"It'll be alright," Xia Xiang pouted. "I really have to go now, but I'll be back as soon as possible."

"As the leader of the Iron Dimension, I haven't had a single day without working hard since I took office. How come you make me sound like I'm love-struck?" Jiu Wu complained, dissatisfied with her attitude.

"All they want is for you to live a happy and carefree life, without so many worries," Xia Xiang said, her mood suddenly dropping.

"What do you think about me erasing your memories and making you forget me?"

"Not good at all!" Jiu Wu sneered. He reached out and grabbed her cheek, saying, "If you dare to do that, I will never forgive you, never."

"I was just joking, why are you taking it so seriously?" Xia Xiang quickly hugged him and said coquettishly.

"Xia Xiang, I don't like this joke." Jiu Wu was more serious with Xia Xiang than ever before. "You'd better not even think about it."
