Chapter 452 Abu's Side Story 5

Xuanming always took Huaiying's matter very seriously. He contacted Huai'an immediately and, knowing that he would be coming back, he began to look for her himself and successfully arrived at the lair of the Sixing Beast.

“We still can’t just sit here and wait to die,” Abu said, observing the jagged stone pillars inside the cave after recovering somewhat. “The stone pillars that have already formed here will also be eroded by the wind and can slowly move towards the exit.”

The two walked and chatted in hushed tones. After walking for an unknown amount of time, Abu told Huaiying everything that had happened to him since he could remember. They were still in roughly the same place, as if the road ahead had no end.

Looking into his expectant eyes, Huaiying began to tell him about her childhood, but she hid many of the truths.

Because both of them were distracted and alert to their surroundings, Abu did not notice the illogical nature of her words and the erratic tone in her voice.

"I'm so hungry, I can't walk anymore." Huaiying leaned against the stone pillar and slowly slid down, unwilling to move.

She didn't have much energy in her body to begin with, so her need for food was higher than others. Some of them could even go for long periods without eating in order to cultivate, but she couldn't.

This is too difficult. In the short first half of her life, apart from taking medicine and cultivating, she has never suffered any hardship. Now she is going through a tribulation.

She missed her brother and Xuanming.

"Ying, let me carry you on my back, it's not safe here." Abu squatted down, took her arms, and put her on his back.

She was really light, her bones were a little hard to hold, but when she obediently rested her head on his shoulder, her slender arms tightly wrapped around his neck, and a soft warmth came over him, making his body involuntarily shiver.

Her soft, slightly cool lips accidentally brushed against his earlobe, and the spot that was touched became incredibly hot, making his mind go blank and almost causing him to let go and throw her away.

"I will thank you properly." After muttering this, Huaiying was so exhausted that she lost consciousness.

Abu endured the warm breath beside his neck and walked forward step by step. Huaiying woke up again, hungry, and buried her face in Abu's neck and started to cry.

"Don't cry, I think we should be getting closer to the exit." Abu put her down, hugged her, and gently patted her back. "Look, the erosion is worse here, we must be close to the exit."

Huaiying didn't want to shatter his expectations. Monsters have wings and can fly, and they couldn't get out of the real exit anyway.

One can only hope that those magical beasts are truly fickle and won't stay here, but they are clearly not that lucky.

After walking a few steps, they arrived at a huge space, where there was a group of flying magical beasts.

The two retreated together, intending to escape together, but a gust of wind separated them, forcing them to flee in different directions.

The speed of the Swift Beast was very fast, and even in the cave where the path was tangled with threads, this speed did not slow down at all.

They have limited vision, but their hearing and perception are very high, so the best way is to shake them off and find a small place to hide.

While searching for a place to hide, Huaiying hoped that Abu, that idiot, would know to hide.

Abu did not get what Huaiying wanted. He was already exhausted and hadn't run more than a few steps before he was trapped and fell into a dark cave.

...

Xuanming entered the lair of the Sixing Beast, but because the place was too large, he couldn't find anyone for a while.

After he noticed the unusual movement, Huaiying's body erupted with tremendous energy, causing a section of the ground to collapse.

"Ah Ying!" Xuan Ming pulled her out of the rubble, checked her injuries, and was relieved to find that she was alright.

Just then, Huai Yuanchu stopped in front of them with his hands behind his back and a serious expression. "What are you doing here?"

Xuanming's eyes were filled with hidden tension. His lips moved slightly as he looked down at the unconscious Huaiying in his arms and silently hugged her tighter.

Huai Yuan Chu didn't say anything, but with a wave of his hand, a powerful energy flattened the huge nest, and Abu also came from one direction looking extremely disheveled.

The two men glanced at him but said nothing.

The mission ended there, and Abu's life returned to normal. However, he became much more silent, often sitting alone in the woods in a daze for a whole day.

Huaiying regained her energy and was personally taught by Huai Yuanchu. Xuanming could do nothing but hope that Huai'an, that scoundrel, would return soon.

Huai Yuan Chu was very strict when guiding her cultivation, but he was a kind father in life. He quickly gained Huai Ying's trust and forgave her father, who had been in seclusion since she was old enough to understand.

Huaiying finally had some time to rest, but then she remembered that she hadn't seen her friend in a long time, so she went to the woods to wait for him.

Unexpectedly, the person turned and left as soon as they saw him.

"stop!"

Abu stopped in his tracks, but didn't dare turn around to look at her.

"What are you doing? I'm not going to eat you!" Huaiying was angry at his reaction and strode up to him, blocking the person who was about to leave.

"I'm relieved to see you're alright. I have other things to do, so I'll be going now." Abu looked down at his toes, then turned to leave.

Huaiying lowered her eyes to hide her emotions, turned around and walked past him, even faster than him. Before she had taken more than a few steps, her sleeve was grabbed.

You're bullying me.

Abu's voice sounded aggrieved, and he tightened his grip on her sleeve.

"Say it again!" Huaiying shook off his hand, pointed at his nose, and looked utterly incredulous.

"I was wrong," Abu said, lowering his head. He looked utterly pathetic.

Huaiying gave a haughty snort, but ultimately didn't leave.
