——The Land of Desolation——
Huai'an
The ethereal voice traveled from afar into Huai'an's mind, causing him to bleed from all seven orifices.
Huai'an wiped the blood from his face with his sleeve and said calmly, "Ming, you're asking for it, aren't you?"
"Are you angry?" The man called Ming's voice trembled slightly with a hint of amusement. "Come on, let's fight."
"Once I regain my previous strength, I guarantee I'll beat you to death." Huai'an's tone remained indifferent.
"I'm telling you, still so calm at a time like this, the craziest thing you've ever done in your life is probably coming to this barren place with that brat," Ming laughed.
"If I don't take advantage of you while you're weak, I'll really be at a disadvantage."
"By the way, given your condition, what about that girl? Have you found her?"
"Still haven't found it." Huai'an opened his eyes, which were filled with stars, and in an instant he arrived at the space where Ming was.
"You'd better advise the others not to come this way either. The spacetime here is unstable. If she gets caught up in it, there won't be any other chances." Huai'an looked coldly at the cynical person in front of him.
"Alright, I was just urging you on." Ming, wearing a dark robe, shrugged and disappeared from Huai'an's sight. "And another thing, the old man is suspicious of that girl you brought back last time. That girl was really pitiful; she was ground to dust."
"She deserves it all." Huai'an felt a surge of disgust when he thought about Mu Shikong's affairs, and then he thought about Xia Xiang's constant idleness, which made him even more irritable.
Given their current relationship, she would never listen to him; he had to find another way.
——Silver Dimension——
Three salted fish were lying dead on the sofa in Cao's residence.
"Finally finished the exams, so tiring." Cao Jili stared at the ceiling with a lifeless expression. "Zhongda, where's Xia Xiang? Didn't she say she'd sneak in and change my grades? Where is she?"
"Really?!" Xiao Qiao and Zhang Fei asked at the same time.
"Of course," Sima Yi smiled. "It's about the same difficulty as assassinating the alliance leader, isn't it? Want more?"
"No need!!!" The three shook their heads like rattles.
Guan Yu and Diao Chan looked at the three of them with a mixture of amusement and exasperation.
"Yi, don't scare them," Guan Yu said.
"Yes, the president is too, always playing around with Fei and Xiao Qiao," Diao Chan said with a smile.
"President, you're always number one in your class, why are you so worried this time?" Xiao Qiao asked with concern. "Could it be that you're still recovering from your injury last time?"
"Yes, yes," Cao Jili nodded.
He can't very well say that he already has the answers, but he's still worried about failing.
These answers were toxic; even though he had memorized them, he wrote down the meanings he had already learned. By the time he realized it, the exam was almost over, and it was too late to correct them.
Oh no! What if Cao Cao comes back and tries to kill him?
When will his dear junior sister return?
At this moment, Xia Xiang, whom everyone was thinking about, was squatting in the spot where her grandfather had squatted before, looking at the Sun family's house.
"There seems to be nothing unusual here, it's so strange," Xia Xiang muttered to herself. "There's no demonic energy at all."
"Is something strange?" A woman's voice whispered in her ear, making Xia Xiang's ear itch.
“I was talking about the house over there,” Xia Xiang replied, scratching her ear. “Ah—”
Then, as if suddenly realizing something, the knife appeared out of thin air in Xia Xiang's hand and stabbed directly at the source of the sound.
"Soldier's aura is concentrated!" the short-haired girl roared.
However, she had no way to control Xia Xiang. The short-haired girl was terrified for a moment. With nowhere to avoid it, she could only close her eyes and prepare to accept reality when the arrow of light shot towards Xia Xiang from the side.
"Damn it!" Xia Xiang cursed, grabbing the girl and rolling to the side to dodge the light arrow.
"Are you alright?" Xia Xiang asked, looking at the girl she was pinning down.
The short-haired girl shook her head and poked Xia Xiang's arm with her finger. "Um, you can get up now."
"Wait a minute," Xia Xiang pushed the girl down again. "You lie down first. There are assassins outside. I'll take care of them before you get up."
"Hey, no need," the short-haired girl smiled, revealing two dimples that made her look incredibly cute. "They're not killing me, they're killing you."
"Me?" Xia Xiang was somewhat puzzled.
“Yes, you,” the short-haired girl said.
"Oh, then let me hold you hostage for a bit." Xia Xiang quickly realized what was going on, and her well-defined knuckles had already gripped the girl's neck. "I'll let you go once I'm safe."
The short-haired girl nodded. "Well, it's not impossible, but what will you offer me in exchange?"
"Is your life enough?" Xia Xiang asked.
"Okay, whatever you say." The short-haired girl replied obediently.
