Chapter 198 Baby

"Big brothers, you've been guarding here for so many days, has anything unusual happened?" Xia Xiang asked the two men who were also writing furiously, while she was engrossed in her homework.

"No," Hu Yanjing replied without looking up.

"Then why are we going to stay here forever?" Xia Xiang asked. "You guys should just take over this shop by now, instead of staying here all the time."

"Do your homework," Ren Chenfeng said, stopping the conversation. "Do you want some cake? The new pastry chef is really good. Remember to pack some to take home later."

“I’ve already taken over. I was going to ask if you wanted to join, but you’re so busy every day,” Hu Yanjing said. “But if you want to participate, you can add the empty shops next door as well.”

"Together, together," Xia Xiang said. "I'll get a membership card to give to that handsome old man."

"Hey, brothers are like limbs, and girlfriends are like clothes, you can't be that serious, Lao Xia." Hu Yanjing put his hand on Xia Xiang's shoulder and teased, "You have no idea how big a forest you've given up."

"He's one of those trees too," Ren Chenfeng rolled his eyes at him and muttered under his breath.

"No, I'm not. Don't spread rumors," Hu Yanjing denied.

Xia Xiang rolled her eyes and silently complained in her heart: I was talking about the Swift Walker.

The three were chatting enthusiastically when a very untimely voice rang out—

"Xia Xiang?" A familiar voice came from inside. "You're quite obedient, but your eyesight isn't very good."

Xia Xiang rolled her eyes and chose to ignore him, continuing to struggle with her homework.

"Look, here comes a crooked tree." Hu Yanjing pushed up his glasses and looked at the person who came, amused. "Baby, did you miss me?"

Xia Xiang and Ren Chenfeng rolled their eyes at the same time, wishing they had never heard this before.

"Huyan Jing! You want to fight, huh?!" Gu Baobei's face turned red with anger.

"I was just calling your name, why are you angry?" Hu Yanjing said innocently. "We're all friends, you're just greeting Xia Xiang and you're already acting like we're strangers."

"What nonsense are you talking about?" Gu Baobei said excitedly, stealing a glance at Xia Xiang who was frowning, before hurriedly looking away.

Xia Xiang: Is he sick? Why is he looking at me?

"I've forgotten about the points deduction, so you don't need to worry about it or come looking for me," Xia Xiang suddenly said, remembering what had happened before.

“Your personal prejudice against me isn’t enough to bother me, so you don’t need to worry about me blurring the lines between public and private matters. However, if you go too far, you know my temper.”

The results of her investigation showed that the rumors had nothing to do with the Gu family. The Gu family has a hereditary tendency to argue; they are good at criticizing everything and everyone, and while they may be skilled at cursing, their ability to spread rumors needs improvement.

"I didn't come looking for you, it was just a chance encounter!" Gu Baobei said, opening the door and walking out.

"Is he going through a rebellious phase?" Xia Xiang asked the two of them speechlessly. "That's terrifying."

"Don't worry about it, he's always like this." Hu Yanjing and Ren Chenfeng exchanged a smile and continued doing their homework.

Xia Xiang looked outside and saw a familiar figure enter the company across the street.

"I have something to do, I'll leave my homework at the shop, bye-bye." Xia Xiang didn't pack her things, opened the door and disappeared.

"Why is she in such a hurry?" Hu Yanjing asked.

"The leader has his own ideas," Ren Chenfeng joked.

"Hahaha," and then the two of them laughed.

"Mr. Xia, please wait a moment, the president's meeting is not over yet." The secretary warmly led Xia Yu, who was dressed in a suit and tie, to the meeting room to wait.

"Hmm," Xia Yu sat on the leather sofa, rubbed his temples, took out his laptop, and started typing away, doing his schoolwork.

A moment later, the secretary brought in a cup of coffee.

"Thank you..." Xia Yu reached out to say thank you, but the secretary lunged at him.

Unfortunately, Xia Yu dodged quickly, and his secretary only managed to grab his arm, while the entire cup of coffee spilled directly onto the leather sofa.

The secretary quickly apologized, crying, "I'm sorry, Mr. Xia, I didn't mean to."

As she spoke, she hurriedly wiped the coffee stains off Xia Yu's clothes.

"No, don't touch me!" Xia Yu was clearly angry, his voice filled with resentment. But he still restrained himself and, being a good person, didn't just walk away.

"I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry," the secretary pleaded quickly.

"Mr. Xia, could you please not tell my boss that I have an 80-year-old mother to take care of and younger siblings to support? I really can't afford to lose this job, please?"

"Okay, I won't. You can go out." Xia Yu agreed repeatedly, then went to the washroom to take care of his clothes.
