Chapter 1384 The Frustrated Qing Tribulation

Qing Jie stared at Qin Feng, his lips trembling slightly, as if a thousand words were stuck in his throat, but he could not utter them smoothly.

Qin Feng keenly noticed Qing Jie's hesitant expression and couldn't help but feel a sense of surprise.

However, just a moment later, a thought flashed through his mind, and a half-smile appeared on his lips as he softly asked, "You wouldn't be trying to persuade me to give up on going to the Demon Suppression Tower, would you?"

Upon hearing Qin Feng's words, Qing Jie's expression instantly became extremely awkward. He lowered his head slightly, his eyes flickering, as if he was struggling intensely deep inside.

After a long while, he finally raised his head as if he had made up his mind, slowly nodded, and replied, "Not bad..."

He then took a deep breath and continued, "Now that the Demon Lord of Heaven has appeared, if we rashly head to the Demon Suppression Tower, we will have absolutely no chance of winning!"

Qing Jie's tone was full of worry and helplessness. He paused, then emphasized, "To put it bluntly, going there this time is simply a death sentence for us!"

He paused slightly at this point, then added, "I'm not exaggerating!"

"You might as well think back carefully. That Demon Lord of the Sky hadn't even descended in person yet, and he had already left us in such a sorry state with just a fraction of his power."

"From this, it's not hard to deduce that his true strength must be terrifyingly powerful, far beyond our imagination!"

Qin Feng curled his lips slightly, his face full of undisguised contempt and mockery.

Then, in an extremely disdainful tone, he said, "Tsk tsk tsk, you're supposed to be an avatar of an ancient god? How can you be so cowardly!"

Faced with Qin Feng's sarcastic remarks, Qing Jie showed a helpless expression. He explained with a wry smile, "Qin Feng, you don't know the truth!"

"While it's true that I'm an avatar of an ancient god, the problem is that I have no way to mobilize the ancient god's power!"

"That's why my strength is actually quite ordinary."

Qin Feng glanced sideways at Qing Jie, letting out a soft, cold snort. "Hmph! You rat!"

"However, I must admit that the concerns you just mentioned are not entirely without merit."

"However, I absolutely must go to the Demon Suppression Tower! And you can't stay out of it either; you have to come with me!"

Upon hearing Qin Feng's undeniable words, Qing Jie's face instantly turned extremely gloomy, as if shrouded in a thick layer of dark clouds.

His eyes widened in anger, and he roared at Qin Feng, "Qin Feng, you've gone too far!"

"Don't think I'm really afraid of you."

"Let me tell you, the reason I've been so tolerant of you is simply because I don't want to become your enemy!"

At the height of his anger, Qing Jie suddenly took a step forward, pointed at Qin Feng, and roared, "I am now solemnly warning you, you'd better not push me any further!"

"Otherwise, if the two of us were to start fighting, it would be hard to say who would emerge victorious!"

Qin Feng's lips curled up slightly, revealing a chilling smile, but his eyes were as cold as ice as he stared intently at Qing Jie, as if trying to see right through him.

"Oh? Is that so? In that case, why don't we have a fight and see who comes out on top?"

His voice was deep and provocative, echoing through the air.

Qing Jie was so enraged by Qin Feng's arrogant demeanor that he was furious. His face turned ashen, his chest heaved violently with anger, and his body trembled involuntarily.

If he were truly confident that he could defeat this arrogant and conceited fellow, he would probably have already made his move without hesitation and taught Qin Feng a lesson.

However, reality is cruel. He was well aware of the gap in strength between himself and Qin Feng, so despite his raging anger, he could only force himself to suppress it.

"Hmph! If you're too scared to make a move, shut your stinking mouth and stop spouting useless nonsense!"

Qin Feng curled his lip in disdain, then shifted his gaze from Qing Jie to look down at the huge pit below.

At the bottom of the pit, Ling Xueyan lay quietly, while the golden skeleton had somehow stood up.

"Hey, Skeleton, are you alright?" Qin Feng shouted.

Hearing Qin Feng's call, the golden skeleton slowly raised its head and said with a hint of helplessness, "Don't call me a skeleton! I have a name!"

Qin Feng was taken aback. He blinked a few times and asked with great interest, "Oh ho, I didn't expect a skeleton to have a name? Tell me quickly, what's your name?"

The golden skull replied, "Jin Xiaoman, that's the name I gave myself when I was first born with sentience!"

"Jin Xiaoman?" Qin Feng blinked, then retorted, "To be honest, that's not a great name!"

Jin Xiaoman acted as if she hadn't heard Qin Feng's complaints and immediately changed the subject.

"To be honest, my injuries are quite severe. If I want to be completely healed, I will need a large amount of divine energy!"

"Fellow Daoist Ling said you have some Divine Source Stones. May I borrow a few?"

As soon as he finished speaking, Qin Feng nodded without hesitation. Then, with a gentle wave of his right hand, ten divine source stones exuding a mysterious aura shot out from his storage ring and flew straight towards Jin Xiaoman.

Just as the ten divine source stones were about to hit Jin Xiaoman, they seemed to be frozen in place by an invisible force, instantly stopping less than a foot away from Jin Xiaoman and quietly floating in the air.

"Thank you for your help, Fellow Daoist Qin Feng!"

Jin Xiaoman, her face full of gratitude, quickly clasped her hands in thanks.

Then, he stretched out his right hand and put the five divine source stones into his storage ring for safekeeping.

He held the remaining five pieces firmly in his left and right hands.

After doing all this, Jin Xiaoman didn't waste any time. She immediately crossed her legs and sat down on the ground.

Seeing this, Ling Xueyan, who was standing nearby, flashed out of the huge pit like a light swallow.

With a gentle wave of her hand, she took out several array flags of different colors and a delicate array plate from her storage ring.

Her hands moved swiftly and gracefully, like butterflies flitting among flowers, and in the blink of an eye, she had arranged the array flags and array plates in their designated positions.

As the last array flag took root, a small defensive array, shimmering with a faint light, suddenly formed and expanded rapidly, eventually completely enveloping the entire crater.
