Give it a try

Zhao Xingcan is talking to someone in the study and probably won't be able to come out for a while.
Lin Ju stood in front of the completed sculpture, reached out his hand and stroked the sculpture's face.
When she first met Zhao Xingcan, she felt that his face was perfect for modeling. This idea took root in her heart and she actually realized it.
Ever since Zhao Xingcan wanted to see her last time and was rejected by her, he never mentioned it again.
Originally, Lin Ju wanted to give this sculpture to Zhao Xingcan as a gift, but after it was actually completed, she felt timid again.
Especially after seeing the people who came today, she probably knew that there was no commitment between her and Zhao Xingcan. Hugging was nothing, kissing was nothing, eating together, watching movies, and taking a walk were nothing. It was just a vague and ambiguous relationship.
She was not his girlfriend and never would be.
After everyone had left, Zhao Xingcan came to find Lin Ju. When he opened the door, he saw the whole room filled with the heads of statues similar to his own.
Lin Ju sat in the middle and smashed these things one by one.
This was the first time Zhao Xingcan saw this scene. He subconsciously touched the back of his head, remained silent for a long time, lowered his head, his shoulders shook slightly twice, and his laughter was muffled in his throat.
Lin Ju couldn't hear his laughter. After a while, she looked up and saw him standing at the door, looking at her.
"What are you doing?" Zhao Xingcan asked.
Lin Ju deliberately didn't answer and continued to knock on the broken sculpture.
Zhao Xingcan squatted in front of her and lifted her chin with one finger.
"Angry? Angry enough to hit me on the head?" He swept the debris from the ground.
Lin Ju looked at him and saw a faint smile in his eyes. It seemed that he didn't care about what had just happened, and she felt discouraged.
She pushed Zhao Xingcan's hand away, turned around and stood up to leave without saying a word.
Zhao Xingcan grabbed her wrist from behind and pulled her in front of him. She was forced to look back and saw Zhao Xingcan saying, "Lin Ju, look at me when you talk to me. I don't want to quarrel with you."
Lin Ju stared at his lips, her brows tightly furrowed, her sensitive nerves seemed to be exploded, and her emotions surged.
She used sign language.
No one wants to quarrel.
She began to sign non-stop, her cheeks flushed and her knuckles turned white from the excessive force.
Zhao Xingcan's face turned cold. He said, "Lin Ju, speak."
Lin Ju still refused to speak, clasping and then separating his hands.
She slowly lowered her hand, her ears buzzing and her heart too.
She said the last words to Zhao Xingcan.
[Zhao Xingcan, let's separate.]
No one dares to say break up, but separate.
Zhao Xingcan understood her final meaning, and at that moment, his world seemed to be synchronized with Lin Ju.
It was eerily quiet.
He used to have a broken tooth, and it would hurt every time he ate something cold or sour.
But it wasn't the kind of pain that would require pulling it out, just a vague soreness.
So, if it's not completely rotten yet, why rush to remove it?
Zhao Xingcan licked the rotten tooth and suddenly remembered that he had cured this rotten tooth two years ago.
He let out a slight chuckle from his nose, laughing at himself.
Turning his head, Zhao Xingcan looked at the shadow on the ground.
Lin Ju was also watching. She didn't know what she was expecting. She was expecting Zhao Xingcan to say no and not to break up, or she was expecting Zhao Xingcan to tell her clearly and frankly, Lin Ju, I like you, you are my girlfriend.
But it was all in vain.
Between them, there were sounds, snow-white statue fragments all over the ground, the light and darkness of the twilight line, the difference between one heart and half a heart, and Lin Ju's bloody expectations.
She got up from the ground again, her palms rolling over the broken wreckage, scratching herself and bleeding, but she was completely unaware.
This time when she stood up, Zhao Xingcan did not catch her.
She turned around, a turn that could leave everything behind.
For them, it’s all about cutting losses in time.
Zhao Xingcan was still so considerate, even taking care of every detail during their separation. He specially prepared a pass for her and asked a driver to pick her up.
In this still controlled place, under Zhao Xingcan's control, it seemed like a no-man's land. Lin Ju had a ridiculous guess: Zhao Xingcan was willing to be trapped in this house for her.
She didn't want to talk to Zhao Xingcan, so she went back to her room to pack her luggage.
Zhao Xingcan waited downstairs, but when she didn't come down for a long time, he went upstairs. The door of the room was ajar, and he heard Lin Ju crying.
Lin Ju squatted on the ground and packed her clothes. She didn't bring many clothes with her. She didn't expect to be locked up for so long, so she only had a few winter clothes.
But when Zhao Xingcan asked someone to send him a lot of clothes, he would not tell her about it. Instead, he would organize the clothes one by one and hang them in her closet, waiting for her to open it and see them.
Now these clothes have become shackles. There are too many clothes and she can't stuff them into the suitcase. Zhao Xingcan is still waiting downstairs. What will he think? Will he think that she is deliberately delaying time and refusing to come down? Will he think that she is a difficult woman?
The more she thought about it, the more anxious she became, and the more anxious she became, the harder it was to squeeze it in.
At this moment, Zhao Xingcan pushed open the door, leaned against the door, lowered his eyes, and his eyelashes trembled slightly.
He noticed the hearing aid Lin Ju was wearing and gave a bitter smile. "Lin Ju, give me an address and I'll have someone send the clothes to you."
At times like this, he was actually more meticulous, but Lin Ju felt that he was trying to drive her away.
A chill spread from her hands, like being entangled by a poisonous snake, causing her to pause where she was. She sat there blankly, staring at Zhao Xingcan, throwing the several expensive clothes in her hands at his feet, like garbage, like herself.
Lin Ju couldn't hold it in any longer. She covered her face with her hands, sobbing and asking intermittently: "Why did you give me so many clothes? It's all your fault. I can't let go of them."
Zhao Xingshen had seen many women cry, and he was used to being indifferent. But what he saw now made him feel truly distressed.
He walked over, squatted in front of her, and put his hands on both sides of Lin Ju's cheeks, wanting to hold them, but his hands were suspended in mid-air as he received drop after drop of tears.
Lin Ju sobbed, gasping for air in her chest due to her excitement, and her words were incoherent. But Zhao Xingcan could hear clearly, and he knew that Lin Ju was saying: "Why did you take me in? Why did you stay here with me? Why are you so nice to me? Why do you stay with me even though you don't like me?"
Without waiting for his answer, Lin Ju choked up and said, "Don't worry... I won't pester you... I'll leave right away."
As she spoke, she stood up, her head filled with tears. She could no longer breathe, and she used her nose and mouth together to breathe in with difficulty, her chest heaving violently.
Suddenly, his calves went weak and he fell to the ground.
Zhao Xingcan immediately picked her up, but she struggled to let him go.
His wet face turned red, his eyes were filled with tears that kept flowing out, his body was resisting, but he had no strength, and his hands were shaking uncontrollably.
Zhao Xingcan noticed something was wrong with her and quickly found a bag of clothes. He put it over her mouth and nose and shouted, "Lin Ju, breathe slowly. Don't be anxious or excited."
Blurred by tears, Lin Ju's consciousness gradually became dim. Seeing Zhao Xingcan's anxious expression, she thought she was hallucinating.
Could this person also make an expression like this? An expression as genuine as a human being?
She closed her eyes and slowly exhaled, her breathing gradually becoming steady.
Lin Ju leaned against Zhao Xingcan's arms. After her hands and feet were no longer stiff and regained consciousness, she wanted to get up. But Zhao Xingcan held her waist tightly, leaned against her ear, and sighed, "Lin Ju, don't leave. Stay. Let's try again, okay?"
She tried to open her eyes wide, trying to see Zhao Xingcan clearly.
Tears flowed like an ocean, almost swallowing Lin Ju up.
She said, "Okay."
Zhao Xingcan still held her face in his hands, which was wet with moisture. It seemed as if a crack had been opened in his heart, a long and thin crack, like a winding stream.
He bent down to kiss her, and when he got close, her eyelashes seemed to brush against his eyelids, trembling.
She cried so much that her lips tasted of salt. Zhao Xingcan savored the bitterness and hugged her tightly.
Arguing and crying are quite tiring. As they kissed, Lin Ju lay on Zhao Xingcan without moving and fell into a deep sleep.
When she woke up, she was in bed. Zhao Xingcan was lying beside her, breathing deeply, and her hands and feet were like octopuses, tightly clinging to Zhao Xingcan.
It was dark outside the window, leaving only a single bedside lamp on in the room, the one at Zhao Xingcan's end. The warm orange light from the milky white lampshade transformed into another soft color, spreading out like splashed ink.
Lin Ju carefully pulled her hand out. Zhao Xingcan moved slightly, and the friction between the fabric and the sheets made a soft sound. Lin Ju paused for breath and pursed her lips. Suddenly, her wrist tightened. Zhao Xingcan's hand clasped her thin wrist.
She raised her eyes and met Zhao Xingcan's smiling eyes.
Zhao Xingcan put his arm around her waist and lifted her up slightly. Lin Ju moaned softly, but before she could even utter a sound, it was sealed in the kiss.
It rained for two weeks in June, but it made no difference whether it was raining or not. The air was always damp and hot, filled with the fishy smell of earth. Lin Ju had a bitter summer. She wore a sleeveless, waist-cinching white dress that had covered her all winter. Her skin was so white that it was brighter than the pearls adorning the dress.
She had on light makeup today and was sitting on a bench under the glass wall, her hands casually placed on both sides of her body, staring into the courtyard in a daze.
In Zhao Xingcan's eyes, her face was like a wild rose he had picked, and the shadow cast by her long eyelashes under her eyelids was like a butterfly resting beside the rose.
He walked behind Lin Ju, but his footsteps were too light for Lin Ju to hear.
Until Zhao Xingcan hugged her from behind and smoothed away her long hair that was blocking her face.
She paused slightly, and when she raised her head, the lip gloss she had just applied on her lips was eaten away.
Zhao Xingcan wrinkled his nose slightly and tilted his head. "Strawberry flavor?"
The hot breath of his felled on Lin Ju's ear, and her white earlobe turned red. She said nothing, looking at the shadows entangled on the ground.
The kiss didn’t last long because we had to go eat later.
This was Zhao Xingcan’s first meal in this circle after Hai City was unsealed.
It was organized by Feng Longlu and was scheduled for half a month. He specifically asked me to bring a female companion.
The driver was waiting at the door, and the two of them lingered for a long time before finally going out.
Lin Ju went to the car, took out a small mirror, and began to touch up her makeup. Zhao Xingcan tilted his head, hooked his index finger around her wrist, which was holding the mirror, and drew circles on the back of her hand.
"Don't move, I can't draw well."
"It's already very beautiful, don't paint it anymore." Zhao Xingcan joked. Lin Ju hummed and glanced at him nonchalantly.
The price of this glance was that the lip gloss she had just applied was eaten by Zhao Xingcan again.
