Chapter 224 Jiang Taigong Fishing

Although it was rough, after the house was built, everyone drove the sleds to the door of the ice house.

There are two huge blocks of ice at the entrance. Once the ice blocks are pushed up, the ice house will be completely sealed off.

The house was crudely built, but it was quite large; it could easily fit eight people, or even 18.

The cattle and sheep were all driven behind the igloo.

The only food they had was left for them.

Because of the wind and snow, they all huddled together to eat their feed.

Jiang Tiecheng and his group of eight, along with Gu Tinghui and their guards, were hiding inside the house.

Only then did everyone realize that, with the wind gone, the temperature inside the ice house was surprisingly warm.

Jiang Tiecheng wiped the sweat from his forehead, exhausted. Building the house had taken a tremendous amount of effort.

"Don't rest, it'll be dark soon. Let's hurry up and find some firewood and something to eat while we're at it."

Captain Wu felt the warmth of the air; it had been some time since he had experienced such warmth.

Their faces were covered in frostbite, and even though they were wearing cotton hats and scarves, they still couldn't keep out the cold.

I haven't felt warm for four or five days now.

I feel like I've finally come back to life.

"Xiao Jiang, you rest. I'll take two people to find firewood. Don't worry."

Jiang Tiecheng put in the effort to build the house; without Jiang Tiecheng, he wouldn't have had the ability to build it.

These houses are really nice; at least they provide shelter from the wind and snow.

The remaining physically demanding tasks should naturally be done by oneself.

Jiang Tiecheng waved his hand wearily.

"Alright then, you guys go find firewood. You take a couple more people with you, we need to make sure we have enough firewood."

Leave two people with me; I'll take them to find something to eat.

"Stop running around aimlessly. You've been working hard all day. Where are you going to find food in this freezing weather?"

Jiang Tiecheng pointed to the river.

"Isn't there a river? There must be fish in that river."

He had already received the information while lying on the ice that there were still many fish in the river.

Captain Wu smiled.

"Forget it, it's not easy to catch fish in Xiaojiang River, especially in winter."

He didn't take those words seriously at all, and led the two men to carry firewood.

Jiang Tiecheng didn't take it seriously.

In this freezing weather, a big bowl of hot fish soup would be much better than that pitiful half-eaten, rock-hard steamed bun in my pocket.

Even if it's just for my own drooling desire, I have to give it a try.

Captain Wu and his team carried in three large bundles of firewood with great difficulty.

This is the second time they've carried firewood in. The first time they carried firewood in, the soldiers who stayed behind to take care of Commander Gu and his guards helped them bring the firewood in.

Sure enough, it was freezing cold outside, and the wind chilled me to the bone.

Once inside the igloo, you can immediately feel the temperature difference between the inside and outside, which is several degrees.

Even Captain Wu had to admit that if it weren't for the heat, the ice house wouldn't have been able to keep the thing in place.

If all the houses were built like this in winter, it would be comfortable to live in them.

The main advantage is that it uses locally sourced materials, which is very convenient.

Right now, they're carrying firewood and moving aside the large blocks of ice piled up at the door.

As soon as I entered, I felt a wave of heat and smelled a fishy aroma.

Captain Wu was a little confused. Wu Dewang looked in the direction of the aroma. There was a fire burning in the center of the room.

To be precise, two fires were actually lit. The other fire was placed next to the two unconscious patients, mainly because the two of them needed warmth.

The sheepskin rug on your body alone won't provide much warmth.

Placing them next to the campfire was obviously much better, while the other fire was clearly a distance away.

Now, a stone pot has been placed on top of the fire.

I don't know which genius found a stone pot in this freezing weather, but this pot has no handle.

But it's unclear how the erosion of the sun and moon shaped it into a pot.

It was the perfect thickness, and it was a large pot.

Place the stone pot on top of a fire made of stones, and burn firewood in the middle.

Snow water was poured in, and now it was actually cooking fish soup, with seven or eight fish tumbling in the big pot.

Moreover, the soup is so white and rich that just looking at it makes your mouth water.

Jiang Tiecheng said with a smile as he stirred the fish in the pot.

"You're back. We'll get the firewood ready and start preparing dinner."

Although there was no dry food, I definitely couldn't take out the half-eaten steamed bun in my pocket, even though I could roast it and eat it to fill my stomach.

But while dry rations can be stored, fish cannot.

The two young soldiers were so excited that they were at a loss for what to do, and they had no choice but to follow Jiang Tiecheng to the riverbank.

At first, they faced a dilemma. They had a river nearby, but winter came.

Catching fish in the river is no easy task.

Moreover, none of them had much experience in catching fish.

The regimental commander and his guards were just rescued from this river, and it has left a lasting impression on everyone.

They were terrified of accidentally falling into the river, but little did they expect Jiang Tiecheng to be so skilled and daring.

They simply found a spot and then painstakingly carved a hole in it.

The hole wasn't very big, but the group of people looked at it with concern, wondering what Jiang Tiecheng was up to—catching fish, perhaps?

Is there such a way to catch fish?

Or are you planning to go fishing?

Fishing is impractical for them; they have no fishing gear, no hooks, no lines, and no rods.

However, neither of them dared to speak or ask. There was nothing they could do. Jiang Tiecheng didn't say much along the way, but every time they got a result, it leaned towards what he had done.

Jiang Tiecheng is not a strict person, but every word he says carries weight, and every action he takes is convincing.

Jiang Tiecheng was standing right in front of the ice hole, so the two of them had no choice but to follow him.

He scratched his head and said helplessly.

"Comrade Jiang, what's going on here?"

"Catch fish!"

"How can you catch fish like this?"

The young comrade thought for a moment, in order to avoid embarrassing Jiang Tiecheng.

He took off his coat and prepared to roll up his sleeves.

Jiang Tiecheng was completely bewildered by his actions.

What are you trying to do?

The young soldier was stunned for a moment, then hurriedly explained.

"Comrade Jiang, shouldn't we be catching fish?"

You didn't dig this hole to catch fish.

Jiang Tiecheng was delighted.

"What are you thinking, kid? Get out of here."

Push him away

"I call this Jiang Taigong fishing; those who are willing will take the bait!"

You just wait!

The fish came by themselves after a while.

The two young soldiers were dumbfounded.

This is the first time I've ever heard of fish coming up on their own. How is that possible?

Before the two could even react, a fish darted out of the hole with a whoosh.

That white, plump thing weighed at least three or four pounds.

It slammed hard onto the ice and tumbled and rolled around there.

The two were completely dumbfounded!

Some fish actually escaped on their own.

The two went to catch fish with great excitement, but little did they expect that they would not be able to catch the fish before they even caught it.

With a crackling sound, two or three more flew out of the hole.
