Chapter 92 My Surname is Cheng

"Young man, where am I?"

Chen Zhipeng looked around at the surrounding environment; the conditions were quite harsh.

You can't even see a light bulb.

More importantly, I feel dizzy and weak all over. Now, my mouth, hands, and legs hurt when I move.

“You fell into the ditch, climbed out and asked us for help, and now you’re in my dugout.”

Jiang Tiecheng brought out the lump soup that was still warm in the pot.

"Are you hungry? Eat something first. You've been unconscious for two days and one night."

The aroma of the dumpling soup made Chen Zhipeng's stomach rumble.

She looked a little embarrassed and tried to sit up to eat by herself, but her body was too weak to move.

I'll feed you!

Jiang Tiecheng could tell that the middle-aged man in front of him was clearly trying to force himself to eat, but his body was as limp as noodles.

After finishing a bowl of dumpling soup, Chen Zhipeng felt as if he had finally come back to life and said gratefully.

"Young man, thank you, thank you. If it weren't for you, I'd probably be dead by now."

"That's not the case."

Jiang Tiecheng cleaned up the pots and pans, and then put hot water in the pot.

Only after adding the firewood did they climb onto the kang (a heated brick bed).

They didn't have a thermometer to measure the temperature, but just by touching how hot it was, they knew they were afraid the middle-aged man in front of them would have his brain burned.

There was no other way; having taken on this hot potato, I had to take care of this person. I couldn't just stand by and watch them die right in front of me.

His system panel allows him to redeem items, but not physical goods.

In other words, the items you can exchange for are all skills, learning methods, or physical abilities.

And it's only directed at him personally.

So he was powerless and had no choice but to wipe the person in front of him with strong liquor. He really wasted several bottles of Erguotou.

And they didn't even have time to close their eyes, mainly because the person had a very high fever.

Jiang Tiecheng was exhausted and fell asleep as soon as he lay down on the kang (a heated brick bed).

Chen Zhipeng originally wanted to chat with the young man for a bit and ask what was going on, but unexpectedly, the snoring next to him had already started.

Although he had just woken up, the snoring made him sleepy again.

I had no choice but to close my eyes and fall asleep.

When Chen Zhipeng woke up again, he heard voices outside.

"Brother Jiang, today is the 30th, let's sweep the snow outside."

"What are we having for dinner tonight? We'd like to come along and freeload off you."

“We’re not going to freeload; we’ll contribute some ingredients. The two of us pooled our money and bought two pounds of meat.”

I also bought seaweed, dried bean curd sticks, and wood ear mushrooms.

"Brother Jiang, I have peanuts!"

It's raw, so tell me how to cook it.

"The last time I made those 'drunken peanuts,' those peanuts were really delicious."

Wu Dashan's meaning was self-evident; he had been craving this for a long time.

"Okay, okay, come over for dinner tonight, let's celebrate the New Year together. We'll have dumplings tonight."

"Come over to my house to help me put up the couplets in a little while."

Jiang Tiecheng didn't want to spend the New Year alone; a lively atmosphere was much better.

The young people immediately agreed.

Jiang Tiecheng pushed open the door and a blast of cold air rushed in.

Jiang Tiecheng was surprised to see that Chen Zhipeng had already sat up.

"Comrade, you're awake?"

When Chen Zhipeng heard the title "Brother Jiang," he suddenly connected it with the "Brother Jiang" his daughter had mentioned.

Ask him calmly.

"Young comrade, what's your surname? What's your name? I don't even know who the person who saved me these past two days is."

"Comrade, forget about being a benefactor or not. Anyone would help in this situation."

My surname is Jiang, and my given name is Jiang Tiecheng. If you like, you can call me Xiao Jiang; if not, you can still call me Jiang Tiecheng.

Jiang Tiecheng actually had a good impression of the middle-aged man in front of him, mainly because the man hadn't triggered any bad luck on that day, except for the fact that he was having the worst luck of the day.

It was probably because the middle-aged man in front of him was already experiencing a run of bad luck when he saw him.

Chen Zhipeng immediately recognized the name.

I couldn't help but look the young man up and down. To be honest, it was so dark last night that I couldn't see him clearly. Actually, the room wasn't well lit either.

But at least it's much better than at night.

The young man had to hunch over inside; he was clearly over 1.8 meters tall, tall and imposing.

Most importantly, even he, a man, had to give this face a thumbs up.

The currently popular features include a square face, thick eyebrows, big eyes, a high nose bridge, and wide lips.

More importantly, his eyes are both wise and sharp.

He exuded an aura of righteousness, yet remained calm and peaceful.

It's surprising that such a young person has such a temperament, considering their age.

Even the smartest young people are full of energy, like tiger cubs released from their cages, unaware of their own limitations.

But the young man before me clearly had a sharp edge, yet he was reserved and calm.

Some of the young people, as Lao Si described them, are indeed shrewd and calculating.

"Old comrade, what is your surname?"

How did you end up falling into our ditch out of nowhere?

Are you here to visit relatives or to see someone?

Where do you live?

If it's convenient, I'll contact your family to pick you up.

Jiang Tiecheng meant well. The Lunar New Year is just around the corner, and today is Lunar New Year's Eve. I guess this comrade's family must be worried.

Chen Zhipeng, however, said with a smile,

"Young comrade, my surname is Cheng. I heard that my nephew Cheng Wei came here to work as an educated youth, so I came to see him."

But I didn't expect the roads to be slippery after the snow, and I slipped and fell into the ditch.

Chen Zhipeng immediately changed the pun to a homophonic one, mainly because he was afraid that the kid would become wary as soon as he heard that his surname was Chen.
