Chapter 45 The Fatso

Many people came specifically for this ice cream, but ended up disappointed.

However, the temple made a profit.

Many people thought that since they were already there, they might as well offer incense and pray for blessings, and donate some money before going back.

Thanks to Yu Zhizhi, the monks in the temple have been smiling like Amitabha Buddha these past few days.

After reading some miscellaneous books, Yu Zhizhi was about to take a nap when her younger brother, Yun Xiaochen, walked into her room, licking a milk pudding ice cream as he did so.

He said earnestly, "Sister, someone outside wants to see you."

Yu Zhizhi lazily turned a page of her book and casually asked, "Do you know who it is?"

Yun Xiaochen licked the ice cream again. "I don't know it."

Since they've come knocking on our door, we can't just refuse to see them.

So she sat up, straightened her clothes, fought off her sleepiness, and took her younger brother's hand as they walked toward the front gate of the yard.

As the footsteps drew closer to the door, the loud and shrill voice became increasingly clear.

"Yu Zhizhi, you big idiot, come out here right now!"

Yu Zhizhi frowned, recognizing the sound as coming from Zhang Lei's mad dog.

She glanced down at her younger brother, who was holding her left hand tightly, and said softly, "Xiao Chen, go to the kitchen now and tell Aunt He that we want to eat cold noodles today, and ask her to prepare them."

Yun Xiaochen nodded obediently, blinked her big eyes, looked up at Yu Zhizhi, and replied in a childish voice, "Okay. Sister, then you have to be careful."

Yu Zhizhi patted his head and gently replied, "Mmm."

What might happen next is probably not very pleasant. It's best to keep your younger brother from seeing this kind of swearing or inappropriate scene.

Yu Zhizhi slowly opened the door, her gaze immediately falling on Zhang Lei, who was standing at the edge of the doorway, and then sweeping over the two tagalongs behind him, Zhu Yuanting and Yu Shujin.

Her eyes were icy cold and unwavering, and her tone was extremely indifferent as she retorted, "Who did you just call a complete idiot?"

Zhang Lei was not afraid at all. Instead, he took a step forward, pointed his index finger at her, and began to curse her without any politeness:

"Of course it's you, you big idiot! I think there's something wrong with your brain. Why didn't you go to the top of Putuo Mountain to set up a stall and sell ice cream today?"

The thought of this made him furious.

In the past few days, he had heard many people at the academy talking about how refreshing and popular the ice cream sold by Yu Zhizhi was.

This morning, the three of them skipped school to climb Mount Putuo just to taste this delicious ice cream.

They've already come up with a plan: they'll just send a few servants to queue up, so they won't have to worry about Yu Zhizhi refusing to sell to them.

If the ice cream hadn't melted so easily, they wouldn't have had to go through all that trouble climbing the mountain; they could have simply sat comfortably at a teahouse at the foot of the mountain and waited patiently.

However, when they finally reached the top of the mountain, panting heavily, they couldn't find Yu Zhizhi anywhere.

They had no choice but to wait under the scorching sun for a full hour, but she still did not appear.

Besides the three of them, there were many other people waiting there, while she herself stayed at home, leisurely enjoying life.

"Whether I set up a stall or not is none of your business! Besides, do you live by the sea? You're really meddling!" Yu Zhizhi retorted with a disdainful look.

Then, she smiled slyly, revealing a provocative expression: "How do you know I didn't set up a stall? Did you guys go all the way up Mount Putuo just for the ice cream?"

Yu Shujin hurriedly replied, "No, we went there specifically to pray and offer incense. We just happened to run into those people who were waiting, and when we asked, we found out they were all waiting for you."

Zhu Yuanting, not to be outdone, chimed in, "That's right, we're just standing up for justice; we really can't stand your kind of behavior."

Upon hearing this, Yu Zhizhi rolled her eyes at them without any politeness.

I don't believe you!

What a joke! Today is already past the prayer festival. If they were so devout, they would have gone to offer incense and pray for blessings a few days ago. Why would they wait until now?

She retorted confidently, "What's wrong with my conduct? Whether I set up a stall or not is my own business, and it's none of your concern!"

Just as Yu Zhizhi was about to close the door, Zhang Lei suddenly reached out and blocked the door, threatening, "Quickly bring out some ice cream for us to try for free, or we'll spread the word that you're deliberately messing with us and make everyone fawn over you."

Yu Zhizhi looked at them smugly: "Go ahead and spread the word, I'm not scared at all. Do you know who my friend is?"

"Let me give you a piece of advice: you'd better not mess with me again. You can't afford to mess with me, because I have powerful backers now."

Zhang Lei didn't believe Yu Zhizhi's nonsense at all; he had already figured her out long ago.

She only has He Yang as a friend; she doesn't have any powerful backers.

He sneered dismissively, "That fatso, you have the nerve to show off like that? It's laughable."

"Hahahaha!" The others also burst into laughter.

Just then, He Yang suddenly walked over aggressively from the front.

"Who are you calling a fatso?"

Yu Zhizhi gently patted He Yang's shoulder and comforted him, "Lazy Yang, just tell them loudly who my amazing new friend is."

He Yang glared at them fiercely, then said loudly, "Listen up, the boss's new friend is none other than Young Master Xu, the big boss of Fuju Restaurant."

After hearing this, Zhu Yuanting couldn't help but burst into laughter: "Hahaha, I'm dying of laughter! I thought he was some important figure, but he's just a wealthy merchant. How can he compare to us powerful and wealthy people?"

Yu Shujin tugged at him from the side and whispered, "I've heard that this Xu Da Dong is rolling in money. Yu Zhizhi is really quite capable to have gotten close to him."

Zhang Lei didn't take him seriously. He was just a wealthy businessman. If he wanted to befriend this Xu Da Dongjia, Yu Zhizhi would have no say in the matter.

Yu Zhizhi was utterly exasperated. She shook her head helplessly and tugged at He Yang's sleeve: "Have you lost your mind?"

Her backer was clearly the sixth prince.

He Yang is not very reliable.

"Boss, don't rush."

Then, He Yang continued, "I haven't finished yet. The boss only has three friends, not many, but they are all top-notch. Besides me, this gem among men, Xu Da Dong is the second most powerful, and the boss's most powerful backer is the famous Sixth Prince Zhao Yun Jin."

"So don't mess with us in the future, you can't afford to!"

Upon hearing Zhao Yunjin's name, the three of them suddenly widened their eyes like copper bells, their mouths slightly agape, as if struck by lightning, and stood there dumbfounded.
