Chapter 122 Meeting in Another World

Chapter 122 Meeting in Another World

The mountain road was rugged, and the taxi was forced to stop at a landslide. Wei Wuxian forced himself out of the car, but after a few steps, he felt a sharp pain in his chest. His vision went black, and he fell straight into the grass by the roadside.

While his consciousness was blurred, he seemed to hear someone talking, the voice was gentle with a hint of surprise.

"Sanlang, look."

"Hmm?" Another voice was lower and a little nonchalant.

Wei Wuxian struggled to open his eyes, and in his hazy vision, two figures appeared. One wore a simple white shirt, his features gentle, like the warm spring sun; the other, dressed in black and red, stood tall and straight. He looked down at him, his eyes as deep as a bottomless, cold pond.

It’s Xie Lian and Hua Cheng.

They had come to the area to handle a mortal's prayer—some mountain folk had reported hearing crying sounds at night, suspecting it was the work of evil spirits. Unexpectedly, before they could complete the prayer, they found an unconscious person on the side of the road.

Xie Lian walked over quickly and squatted down to check on Wei Wuxian. The boy (in Xie Lian's eyes, Wei Wuxian was indeed a boy) was pale as paper, his lips were purplish blue, his chest rose and fell slightly, and there was a trace of blood at the corner of his mouth. It was obvious that he had suffered severe internal injuries.

What surprised him even more was that this face...

Xie Lian suddenly recalled the dusty portrait in his father Jun Wu's study. The woman in the portrait had a flamboyant expression and an uninhibited smile. It was said she had once been the most unruly god of war in the heavens, but later, having violated the laws of heaven, she was demoted and her whereabouts were unknown. And the young man before him bore a striking resemblance to the woman in the portrait!

“This…” Xie Lian was stunned for a moment, subconsciously wanting to reach out and pick the person up.

"Brother." Hua Cheng's voice sounded beside him, with a hint of imperceptible possessiveness.

Xie Lian turned around to see Hua Cheng already bent over, lifting Wei Wuxian horizontally. The young man's frail frame was held steady by his single arm, like a fragile butterfly.

Hua Cheng raised his eyes to look at Xie Lian, with a hint of resentment in his eyes: "He is a man." The implication is that other men should not touch him except me.

Xie Lian smiled helplessly, knowing that he was being possessive again. “I just wanted to see if he was still angry.”

"He's still breathing." Hua Cheng looked down at the person in his arms, frowning slightly, "His spiritual power is disordered, his meridians are broken, and he's been poisoned by more than one kind of poison." His perception was far beyond that of ordinary people, and he saw Wei Wuxian's problem at a glance.

Xie Lian moved closer and indeed felt that the remaining spiritual energy in Wei Wuxian's body was as weak as a candle in the wind, and was mixed with several kinds of cold and sinister toxins, entangled with each other, and was slowly devouring his vitality.

"Such a severe injury." Xie Lian sighed, "We can't stay here for long. Let's take him back to Heaven first."

Huacheng had no objection. Embracing Wei Wuxian, he flashed and caught up with Xie Lian. He had long since forgotten about the matter of dealing with the prayers. In his eyes, nothing was more important than the people Xie Lian cared about, even if they were just strangers who looked similar.

The two of them rode on the auspicious clouds and soon arrived at the heavenly palace.

Huacheng gently placed Wei Wuxian on the soft couch in the side hall. Xie Lian immediately took out the healing elixir and wanted to feed it to him.

"Wait." Hua Cheng stopped him. "He has a complex toxin system. If you use the elixir rashly, it might backfire."

Xie Lian was stunned: "What should we do then?"

"I'll seal off a few of his acupoints first to slow the spread of the poison." Hua Cheng stretched out his hand, gathering a soft spiritual power at his fingertips, and gently tapped Wei Wuxian's brow, chest, and dantian.

A light red halo flashed by, and Wei Wuxian's originally rapid breathing gradually stabilized, and his complexion looked better.

Xie Lian breathed a sigh of relief: "You are indeed attentive."

Hua Cheng took his hand and gently stroked it with his fingertips: "As long as it's something that Brother cares about, I will pay attention to it."

Xie Lian glared at him helplessly, then turned to prepare warm water and a clean towel to wipe Wei Wuxian's face.

Hua Cheng stood by, arms folded, looking at the unconscious boy on the couch with a complicated expression. His face did resemble the portrait, but the stubbornness between his brows and the pain hidden in his eyes carried a completely different sense of brokenness, making people inexplicably distressed.

“Do you think he is related to the person in the portrait?” Xie Lian asked as he wiped Wei Wuxian’s face.

"It's hard to say." Hua Cheng shook his head. "It happened in heaven so long ago." He paused and added, "But he has a very special aura, like... the worldly air of the human world, with a hint of the clearness of the immortal sect."

Xie Lian nodded. "It's indeed strange. Judging from his clothing, he looks like a modern man, but with the spiritual energy fluctuating within him, and having been poisoned by such a strange thing, it seems like... he's crossed over."

As the two were talking, Wei Wuxian suddenly stirred on the couch, his brows furrowed as he muttered, "Lan Zhan... Si Zhui..."

The voice was weak, but it was filled with deep concern.

Xie Lian and Hua Cheng looked at each other, and saw confusion in each other's eyes.

Lan Zhan? Si Zhui? Is that someone he cares about?

"It seems like there's someone very important in his heart." Xie Lian sighed, "I hope he can pull through."

Huacheng didn't say anything, just looked at Wei Wuxian's pale face, a hint of thought flashing in his eyes.

No matter who he is, no matter where he comes from, since he is someone his brother cares about (since he looks like the person in the portrait, let's just say he cares about him), he will not let him die easily.

The door to the side hall closed gently, shutting out the outside noise. The young man on the couch remained asleep, his brows gradually relaxed, as if he had seen someone he had longed to see in a dream.

Outside the window, clouds from the sky slowly drifted by, carrying a faint golden light.

An encounter across time and space quietly began. The young man lying on the couch had no idea that his fainting had transported him to another world, opening an unexpected door to his quest for medical treatment.

Xie Lian looked at him and suddenly remembered what his father, Jun Wu, had once said: "Every encounter in this world is a reunion after a long separation."

Perhaps, the appearance of this young man was not accidental.
