Chapter 124: Golden Core Reunion

Chapter 124: Golden Core Reunion

The golden light in the inner hall almost overflowed.

Wei Wuxian lay on the jade bed, surrounded by a rich spiritual energy. This was the energy released when Jun Wu, using his own immortal power and supplemented by the celestial treasure, reforged his golden elixir. Golden light pounded the palace, even radiating the entire Upper Heaven. The immortals felt a tremor beneath their feet, and when they looked up, they saw a dazzling glow from the inner hall. Then, the glazed tiles of many immortal palaces shattered, and magical instruments hummed, as if the heavens and the earth were trembling with this new power.

"Which powerful being is causing trouble again?" An immortal covered his forehead which was hit, looked at the corner of his roof which had collapsed, and felt like crying but had no tears.

In Lingwen Hall, Lingwen was overwhelmed by the continuous stream of repair reports. She quickly flipped through them, from "Thunder Hall lightning rod broken" to "Rain Master Hall lotus pond overturned" to "Wind Master Qingxuan's fan was blown away and stuck in the South Heaven Gate"... every single one pointed to the astonishing spiritual power fluctuations in the inner hall.

"When His Royal Highness ascended to heaven, there wasn't such a big fuss..." Ling Wen rubbed his solar plexus and sighed helplessly, "As expected, no one who has anything to do with His Royal Highness is worry-free."

In the inner hall, the golden light gradually faded.

Wei Wuxian slowly opened his eyes and felt a warmth in his dantian. A long-lost spiritual power flowed through his limbs and bones. Although it was still very weak, it was real - his golden elixir was actually back!

He subconsciously raised his hand, wanting to feel the power, but was met with a pair of eyes full of expectation.

Jun Wu was sitting beside the bed, his dragon robe still stained with traces of spiritual energy. His temples were slightly disheveled, but he couldn't hide the excitement in his eyes. Seeing Wei Wuxian wake up, he quickly leaned forward and asked, "How are you feeling? Are you feeling unwell?"

Wei Wuxian looked at him, his brows furrowed slightly. This face… so familiar. He vaguely remembered that when he was a child, on Junwu Mountain near the mass grave, he seemed to have seen a similar portrait. His mother had pointed at it and said, "That's a very powerful immortal."

Before he could figure it out, Jun Wu took a deep breath and said in an almost solemn tone: "Axian, I am your mother Jun Li's biological brother, and your uncle."

Wei Wuxian was stunned.

uncle?

Mother's brother?

The immortal uncle who abandoned my mother in the legend?

"Back then, your mother insisted on staying in the human world with your father, and I..." Jun Wu wanted to say something, but was abruptly interrupted by Wei Wuxian.

"Since you're so powerful, why didn't you save them?" Wei Wuxian's voice trembled, his eyes instantly reddened. "Why let them die in the mass grave? Why did I grow up without a father or a mother?"

The grievances and questions that had been pent up for more than a decade suddenly burst out. He didn't understand why he had to grow up in exile, why he had to endure those long nights in fear and loneliness, when he had such powerful relatives.

Jun Wu was choked by the question, the excitement on his face faded, leaving only deep guilt and pain: "It's my fault... I was too stubborn back then, thinking that breaking off contact was for her own good, but I didn't expect..."

He didn't say anything else, but just reached out his hand, wanting to touch Wei Wuxian's head, but the young man suddenly avoided him.

"Don't touch me!" Wei Wuxian became more and more agitated, his chest began to ache again, a fishy and sweet taste rushed up his throat. He covered his mouth and coughed violently, bright red blood seeping out from between his fingers.

"Axian!" Jun Wu panicked and wanted to use his magical power to calm him down, but he was afraid of irritating him.

Wei Wuxian trembled with coughing, tears mingling with blood as they fell. He hated the man before him for his inaction, yet he coveted this sudden burst of family affection—a warmth he had never known before, a bond etched in his blood.

Contradiction and pain were like two poisonous snakes, entangled and tearing at his heart.

Jun Wu looked at his pained expression, his heart aching. He slowed his voice and said as gently as possible: "I know you blame me. This is all my fault. But I want to make amends. Ah Xian, give me a chance, okay?"

He paused, his eyes extremely serious. "Xie Lian is my only child. From now on, you are my second son. Follow me and stay in the Upper Heaven. I will protect you and will never let you suffer any injustice again."

Wei Wuxian stopped coughing and looked at him with tearful eyes.

son?

Stay in heaven?

He thought of Lan Wangji and Si Zhui, and his heart ached like being stabbed by needles. He couldn't stay, he had to go back.

But looking at the guilt and expectation in Jun Wu's eyes, he couldn't say no.

He longs for family affection too much.

Longed for more than ten years.

Wei WuXian sniffed, turned his face away, and spoke in a nasal voice, as awkward as a child throwing a tantrum: "I...I won't call you father. It's too distant."

Jun Wu was stunned for a moment, then smiled, his eyes slightly red: "Then what do you want to be called?"

Wei WuXian pursed his lips and hesitated for a long time before he said in a barely audible voice, "...Daddy."

He had only ever called him Wei Changze. Calling him out now carried a hint of testing, a touch of attachment, and a hint of grievance that he himself hadn't even noticed.

Jun Wu's heart felt like it had been gently bumped by something, aching and limp. He reached out his hand, and this time, Wei Wuxian didn't shy away.

The warm palm fell on the head and rubbed it gently, with careful cherishment.

"Hey, Ah Xian." Jun Wu's voice was choked with a barely perceptible sob.

The rosy glow from outside shone through the window lattice, falling on the two of them, giving them a layer of warm golden edge.

Wei Wuxian leaned against the headboard, feeling the warmth from above his head, his eyes moistened once again.

Jindan returned, relatives were found, and it seemed that all the good luck came at this moment.

But he still missed Lan Wangji and Si Zhui.

He didn't know whether this belated family love could heal the wounds in his body or fill the emptiness in his heart.

But at least now, he was no longer alone.

Outside the inner hall, Xie Lian and Hua Cheng breathed a sigh of relief as they watched the heartwarming scene unfold.

“It seems like a good thing.” Xie Lian said with a smile.

Hua Cheng held his hand, a smile in his eyes: "As long as brother is happy."

In Lingwen Hall, Lingwen looked at the latest memorial that had been passed in, which reported that "His Royal Highness the Crown Prince knelt on one knee to pick up his new brother's cloak." He sighed helplessly and wrote, "Approved. The repair costs will be paid from His Majesty's private treasury."

It seems that the peaceful days in heaven are completely over.

But looking at the warm glow in the inner hall, Lingwen suddenly felt that it wouldn't be bad to have a little fun occasionally.

At least, the emperor who always had a stern face finally had some worldly eyes.

On the jade bed, Wei Wuxian fell into a deep sleep under Jun Wu's gaze. This time, his brows were relaxed, and there was even a faint smile on the corner of his mouth.

Perhaps, in this strange heaven, he can really find the medicine to heal his pain.

Perhaps, he could really wait until the day he could return, bringing with him strength and warmth, to Lan Wangji and Si Zhui.

In his dream, he seemed to see Lan Wangji's smiling face again and heard Si Zhui calling him "Daddy".

Wei Wuxian smiled and responded softly in his dream.
