Chapter 202 Tears Reflecting Love

Chapter 202 Tears Reflecting Love

The early summer breeze, carrying the scent of gardenias, softened everyone's heart. Si Zhui sat in the passenger seat, his fingertips repeatedly stroking his ID card, his palms sweating with nervousness. Today was his nineteenth birthday, the day he and Lin Yan had agreed to get their marriage certificate.

"Don't be nervous." Lin Yan freed one hand and gently held his hand, the warmth of his palm coming through steadily. "It's just to get a stamp. We've been engaged for a long time, haven't we?"

Sizhui nodded, but couldn't help looking out the window. The Civil Affairs Bureau wasn't crowded, and several newlyweds were walking in hand in hand, their faces brimming with smiles. He took a deep breath and followed Lin Yan out of the car, his steps feeling a bit unsteady.

The process of handling the formalities went smoothly. When the staff member checked the information, he smiled and joked: "You two look really good together, a talented man and a beautiful woman."

Si Zhui's face flushed instantly, but Lin Yan calmly held his hand tightly and said seriously: "Thank you, we have been waiting for this day for a long time."

When the red marriage certificate was handed to the two, Sizhui's tears fell without warning. He held the small red book, repeatedly stroking the words "Marriage Certificate of the People's Republic of China" on the cover with his fingertips, his throat choked with sobs and he couldn't speak.

From cautious dependence, to the determination to stay together, to now obtaining this legally recognized certificate, all the anxieties, expectations, and tenderness hidden in the details, all turned into tears, falling silently.

"Why are you crying?" Lin Yan panicked and quickly took out a tissue to wipe his tears, his tone full of heartache, "Are you feeling unwell? Or did I do something wrong?"

"No..." Si Zhui sniffed, buried his face in his arms, and said in a muffled voice, "I'm just too happy...Brother Lin, we are really a family now, right?"

"Yes, we are a family now." Lin Yan patted his back gently, his voice so gentle that it could drip water. "No matter what happens in the future, we will never be separated again."

Si Zhui nuzzled into his arms, tears streaming down his face. These weren't tears of grievance, but tears of relief, tears of happiness—he finally didn't have to worry about being left behind anymore, he finally had a home that belonged completely to him and Lin Yan.

After Sizhui calmed down a bit, Lin Yan took his hand and walked out of the Civil Affairs Bureau. The sun was shining brightly, falling on their clasped hands and the two red marriage certificates, dazzling them so brightly that one couldn't look away.

When they returned to Yunshen Pavilion, Wei Wuxian was lying on the stone table in the courtyard, waiting for them to return. Seeing Sizhui's red eyes and the red book in his hand, he instantly exploded and stood up suddenly: "Who bullied you? Was it that kid Lin Yan who treated you badly?!"

As he said this, he was about to rush out to settle the score with Lin Yan, but was stopped by Si Zhui.

"Daddy, that's not the case!" Si Zhui quickly explained, his eyes red again, "I wasn't bullied, I was just... I was just so touched."

He held up the marriage certificate in his hand, his voice choked with sobs but filled with joy: "We got the certificate, Daddy. Brother Lin and I are now legally married."

Wei Wuxian was stunned for a moment, looking at the red book, then at Sizhui's red but smiling eyes, before he reacted. He walked over, took the marriage certificate, and flipped through it, his eyes reddening. He reached out and ruffled Sizhui's hair, his tone filled with relief: "Good, good... Our Sizhui finally has his own little family."

Lan Wangji walked out of the house and saw this scene, a faint smile in his eyes. He took the marriage certificate, looked at it carefully, and then handed it to Sizhui, saying gently: "You will be adults from now on. You should manage your own life well. If you need anything, come home anytime."

"Yeah!" Si Zhui nodded vigorously, holding the marriage certificate tightly in his arms, feeling warm in his heart.

Lin Yan stood aside, watching Si Zhui's heartwarming interaction with his parents, a gentle smile on his face. He walked over, took Si Zhui's hand, and said to Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian, "Uncle, Uncle Wei, thank you for leaving Si Zhui in my care. I will treat him well for the rest of his life and will never let him suffer any injustice."

“You said it,” Wei WuXian wiped his eyes and said in a serious tone, “If I find out you’re bullying him, I’ll be the first one to punish you.”

"No." Lin Yan nodded seriously, his eyes falling on Si Zhui, full of doting.

As the sun set, its golden afterglow cast a shadow over the courtyard of Yunshen Pavilion, illuminating the smiling faces of the entire family. Sizhui leaned against Lin Yan, clutching the marriage certificate, his heart filled with peace.

He knew that this was just the beginning of their happy life. There was still a long way to go in the future, with the trivialities of daily life and the trials of sharing weal and woe. But as long as he had Lin Yan, his family, and his friends by his side, he had the courage to face everything.

Because he finally understood that true sense of security does not come from an object or a promise, but from the person who is willing to accompany you from youth to maturity, from love to the rest of your life, and from the home that always opens its doors for you.

Si Zhui raised his head and looked at Lin Yan beside him, a relieved smile appearing on the corner of his mouth.

very nice.

I can spend every day with you from now on.
