Chapter 73 Getting Up
The next day, at noon, the living room of the old house was already bustling with activity, but Wei Wuxian was still lying in bed, not waking up.
Lan Wangji finished washing up and sighed helplessly at the person curled up in bed. Last night, this person had been making a fuss until late at night, insisting on rewatching "Pure Heart Sound" and pestering people to tell him stories from their youth. He didn't fall asleep until the morning hour. His eyes were bruised and he was sound asleep.
"Wei Ying, it's time to get up." Lan Wangji sat on the edge of the bed and gently poked his cheek with his fingertips.
Wei WuXian whimpered, buried his head deeper into the quilt, and mumbled, "Just five more minutes... Just five minutes..."
Lan Wangji didn't urge him anymore and got up to go to the kitchen. Wen Ning was preparing breakfast with Jiang Yanli. When he saw him come in, he hurriedly asked, "Mr. Lan, is Young Master Wei awake? Miss Jiang made his favorite glutinous rice porridge."
“Not yet.” Lan Wangji took the apron Wen Ning handed him and put it on. “I’ll go call him.”
When he returned to the room, Wei Wuxian had already rolled into the middle of the bed, one leg draped over the edge, sleeping sprawled out. Lan Wangji walked over and was about to pull him back when he suddenly rolled over and drowsily grabbed Lan Wangji's wrist, mumbling, "Lan Zhan... stop it..."
This lazy and slightly coquettish tone softened Lan Wangji's heart instantly. He sat by the bed for a while, but ultimately couldn't bear to wake him up. He turned around and quietly closed the door, intending to let him sleep a little longer.
In the living room, Jiang Yanli saw Lan Wangji coming out alone and asked with a smile, "Is Ah Xian still not awake?"
"Yeah, I slept late last night." Lan Wangji explained on Wei Wuxian's behalf, and placed the glutinous rice porridge that Wen Ning had prepared in the thermos. "I'll heat it up for him when he wakes up."
Jin Ling munched on a bun and mumbled, "Senior Wei is such a sleepyhead! The sun's already burning his butt."
Jin Zixuan knocked on his head: "Don't be disrespectful." Although he called him his son, there was a smile in his eyes - he heard the noise in the next room last night, Wei Wuxian's laughter could be heard through the wall.
The director had already set up the camera, and the lens was facing the closed door on the second floor. The commentators had already started to make fun of it:
"Hahahaha, Teacher Wei, you stayed up too late last night!"
"Boss Lan is too doting! He didn't even force him to get up!"
"I bet fifty cents that Teacher Wei will definitely stay in bed and act like a spoiled brat when she wakes up!"
Sure enough, more than half an hour later, Wei Wuxian came down from upstairs with messy hair, his eyes half open and half closed, and he was staggering as he walked, like a cat that had not woken up yet.
"Senior Sister... Good morning..." He yawned, his voice nasal, and walked to Jiang Yanli and wanted to lean against her.
Lan Wangji was quick to pull him over and put him firmly on the chair: "Drink the porridge first."
Wei Wuxian pouted in grievance, but still obediently picked up the bowl of porridge. Just after taking a sip, he was so burned that he stuck out his tongue: "It's so hot..."
"Drink slowly." Lan Wangji picked up the spoon, scooped a spoonful of porridge, blew it gently to cool it down, and handed it to his mouth, his movements natural and skillful.
This scene was captured in full by the camera, and the comments instantly boiled over:
"Ahhh what kind of divine feeding is this! Boss Lan is really good at it!"
"Teacher Wei is too good at acting like a spoiled brat! She's such a grown-up and still needs to be fed!"
"I've finally figured it out. Teacher Wei is just a spoiled brat!"
After being fed a few mouthfuls of porridge, Wei WuXian finally regained some consciousness. He grabbed the spoon and drank it himself, mumbling, "I'll do it myself... Stop filming..."
Jiang Yanli looked at them, her eyes filled with relief: "It seems that Ah Xian is living a happy life here with Lan Zhan."
Wei Wuxian blushed and was about to retort when Jin Ling interrupted him: "Is happiness just sleeping in every day?"
"What does a kid know?" Wei Wuxian glared at him, but it had no deterrent effect, instead it seemed like he was joking.
Lan Wangji smoothed out his hair and said in a calm yet doting tone, "We're going to the night market this afternoon. If you don't wake up, I won't take you with me."
"No!" Wei Wuxian immediately became energetic and drank the porridge in a few mouthfuls. "I'll go wash up now! I'll be there soon!" After saying that, he rushed back upstairs like a gust of wind.
Looking at his panicked back, everyone in the living room laughed.
By the time Wei Wuxian finished packing and came out, it was almost noon. As he reached the door, Lan Wangji pulled him back and handed him a headband: "Your hair isn't tied properly."
Wei Wuxian lowered his head obediently, letting Lan Wangji tie up his long hair. His fingertips occasionally brushed against the side of his neck, causing him to itch. He couldn't help but shrink his neck: "Lan Zhan, stop tickling me..."
“No.” Lan Wangji tied his hairband seriously and put his coat on him. “It’s windy outside.”
This disgusting scene was once again captured by the camera, and the term "Wei Wuxian stays in bed" has become a hot search on the Internet, with fans making jokes below:
“#Wei Wuxian’s Difficulty Waking Up# is confirmed!”
“#Lan Wangji's Large-Scale Doting Husband Scene# I'm jealous, I'm jealous!”
"I suggest Mr. Wei use his time spent in bed to film, otherwise he'll be late for the next awards ceremony again (dog head)"
Wei WuXian scrolled through his phone, his cheeks puffed up in anger as he looked at the mocking laughter filling the screen. "These people are going too far! How can they say that to me?"
Lan Wangji leaned over to take a look and said calmly, "They are envious."
“Are you jealous of my ability to sleep in?” Wei Wuxian raised an eyebrow.
"I envy you for having me." Lan Wangji said calmly, reaching out to wipe the porridge stains from the corner of his mouth.
Wei WuXian's face flushed instantly, and he covered his mouth with his hand. "What nonsense are you talking about? There are so many people watching us!"
The director who was filming the scene was laughing so hard that his hands were shaking, and he quickly recorded the scene - fans will definitely love to see this wave of dog food!
Jiang Yanli looked at the two people playing around and said to Jin Zixuan with a smile, "Look at them, do they look like Ah Xian and Ah Cheng when they were little?"
Jin Zixuan nodded: "It's just much more annoying than before."
Jin Ling munched on an apple and rolled his eyes: "I think they are even more childish than me."
Having said that, the corners of his mouth rose slightly - it seemed that this lively atmosphere was not bad.
The afternoon sun was shining brightly, and the old house was filled with laughter and joy. Wei Wuxian leaned on Lan Wangji's shoulder, scrolling through his phone. Seeing the teasing from his fans, he wasn't angry anymore, but instead felt very happy.
It turns out that being remembered and pampered by others is a happy thing, even if you are ridiculed for being a lazy sleeper.
He looked up at Lan Wangji, who was looking down at a document. The sunlight fell on his straight nose, and his profile was as handsome as a person in a painting. Wei Wuxian couldn't help but lean over and kissed him on the cheek, then quickly pulled back like a cat that had successfully stolen some food.
Lan Wangji raised his eyes, a smile in his eyes: "Didn't you get enough sleep?"
“That’s enough!” Wei Wuxian shook his head, a sly glint in his eyes. “I just want to kiss you.”
The barrage of comments flooded the screen again, with the screen full of “Ahhh” and “I got it”.
Wei Wuxian stared at his phone screen and suddenly felt that days like this were truly wonderful. He had his lover by his side, his family by his side, the teasing of his fans, and the daily grind of life.
Perhaps, this is what he, Lan Wangji, and everyone else who traveled through time and space to come here most want to have - ordinary and warm happiness.
