Chapter 25: Behaved “Sister, do you want to run away again?”
When he woke up the next day, the other half of the bed was empty. Jiang Li breathed a sigh of relief.
Yun Si's so-called punishment has finally come to an end...
The area that had been massaged swelled slightly, but she didn't care. There was no cold, suffocating feeling, no confining oppression. A long-lost sense of relaxation enveloped her.
Yun Si is not in the room.
Glancing at the neatly folded clothes at the head of the bed, Jiang Li's lips curled up in a slight sneer. "Are you willing to give me clothes?" This wasn't a sin in vain.
She stood up and reached for it.
Squeak——
The door was pushed open and Yun Si walked in.
Jiang Li looked up at the sound, and instead of trying to cover her exposed skin, she met his gaze. Covering up was futile; he had already seen this body countless times.
More importantly, she wanted him to clearly see the red marks he had left. She didn't expect him to regret or feel bad, she just wanted to simply annoy him.
"These are not my clothes," she said.
Yun Si approached, but first pulled the quilt over her chest, then slowly said, "I prepared this especially for you, don't you like it?"
Jiang Li took a glance and saw the Miao style.
"Sister, when you put this on, everyone will know you are mine."
"Okay." She curled her lips, a hint of flattery mixed in with her compromise.
Yun Si's eyes sparkled with joy, and he reached out to help her put on her clothes, but when he touched the red mark, he suddenly stopped: "...Sister, put on your clothes yourself."
Jiang Li saw this and found it absurd.
Wasn't this all his doing? What was he pretending to be doing now?
She put it on obediently. Yun Si was obviously satisfied.
Give her clothes? Jiang Li sneered inwardly. What kind of compromise is this?
She asked directly: "A Si, do I still need to stay here today?"
Yun Si avoided answering and changed the subject: "Are you hungry, sister? Let's eat first."
"Okay." Jiang Li agreed meekly, sat down beside him, and picked up the bowl and chopsticks.
She ate mouthful after mouthful as if she was enjoying it.
Only she knew that she had to force herself to swallow every bite.
"Sister, do you seem very happy?"
"Of course," Jiang Li picked up a piece of winter melon, which she hated the most, and put it to Yun Si's mouth, "Ah Si prepared new clothes for me. You should eat more too."
No matter how you cook winter melon, you can’t hide its astringent taste, which always makes you want to vomit.
Yun Si took a look, smiled and swallowed it.
She fed him a few more mouthfuls, which he swallowed one by one.
It would be great if he had fed him poison... then Yun Si would have been poisoned to death by him long ago, right?
Yun Si suddenly grabbed her hand: "Sister, I'm full."
"Okay." Jiang Li put down his chopsticks, his smile still on his face.
Before he could indulge in this false tenderness, she spoke again: "A Si, will you take me out today?" She deliberately used the word "take".
His eyes suddenly darkened: "Sister, you want to run away again?"
He must be crazy... What is he imagining?
Jiang Li took a sip of tea to calm down his anger, and finally found the strength to deal with him: "What did Ah Si say? What I said is, we are together."
Yun Si raised his eyebrows, his eyes full of disbelief, and his face almost said "Just stay here and be good."
"I didn't even have this opportunity when I was in Cangshui Village."
Seeing that his expression seemed to soften, Jiang Li immediately struck while the iron was hot: "In Cangshui Village, I was looked down upon everywhere, so naturally I didn't want to go out. But it's different here, no one will look at me that way... I want to go out with Asi and take a look." She raised her eyes, her eyes full of genuine expectation.
Mentioning his past shortcomings, his heart softened, and he finally agreed: "Okay..."
She was genuinely excited, but Yun Si's vigilance suddenly rose.
When Jiang Li stepped out of the room a day later, he felt as if he was in another world - perhaps painful days always feel like years.
Seeing her pick up the umbrella, Yun Si asked, "It's not raining today, why are you carrying an umbrella?"
Jiang Li met his scrutinizing gaze, knowing that he was suspicious again, and patiently explained, "It rains a lot in the south of the Yangtze River, so we're just being prepared."
Knowing that he suspected she was trying to escape, she could only play dumb, "If it rains, I won't hold an umbrella for you even if you get soaked to the skin."
Just as he went downstairs, Jiang Li suddenly remembered something: "Did you bring any money? I only paid for one night's room and I still owe the inn."
"Where do you think the hot water for food comes from, sister?"
She was worrying too much. Yun Si had already paid it off.
Isn't he the Gu King of Miaojiang? Isn't he generous? Jiang Li thought, today I have to get rid of my anger.
Walking down the street, passersby frequently cast their gazes at him. Yun Si's own clothing was not ostentatious, but the Miao costume he had given Jiang Li was excessively elaborate and ornate.
She is the one who is flaunting herself in public.
Everyone else was walking around freely, but Yun Si insisted on holding her hand tightly. Jiang Li knew that he was deeply suspicious, so she let him do it.
Without even looking at the snacks or jewelry stalls, Jiang Li headed straight for a gambling house. Gambling is the path to poverty. Money comes in quickly, but it's also spent quickly.
Yun Si grabbed her and asked, "Sister, what are you doing here?"
"Play."
"Okay, I'll go in with you." He said with a slight rise in his voice, "I didn't know you had this hobby."
Jiang Li heard the certainty in his words - she must be planning to escape.
"Without it in Cangshui Village, there's naturally nowhere to display it." She turned around, her eyes falling on the money bag on his waist, "How much do you have?"
Yun Si took off his purse with his other hand and handed it over: "If it's not enough, there's more."
Jiang Li weighed it and accepted it.
There were all kinds of people in the gambling house, so Yun Si kept a closer eye on people.
Jiang Li stopped at a random table and deliberately chose the side with fewer people to place his bet, just to lose everything.
Yun Si saw it and put his arm around her waist: "Sister, it seems like we should choose the left..."
Jiang Li suddenly changed her mind when she heard this. Okay, she would just listen to whatever he said.
"Okay." She nodded with a smile and moved the chips to the left.
But when the results came out, her money actually doubled...
Jiang Li, unconvinced, tried a few more times, following Yun Si's choices and placing his bets. Without exception, he won every time.
Seeing her money increasing, she couldn't feel happy.
This time, she directly invested all her money and deliberately chose the option opposite to Yun Si.
But it still doubled...
Everyone looked at Jiang Li.
The gambling house was full of people who were observant of others' expressions. The two of them were dressed ostentatiously and had won several games in a row, so everyone had already noticed. When Jiang Li invested all her money, everyone was waiting for her to lose.
She was also confused at this moment...Why did she win?
Until Yun Si's voice came close to his ear: "Sister is really amazing..."
Jiang Li's scalp was tingling. He had followed his choices for so many games and they were all correct. How come he won this game even though he didn't follow his choices?
She turned her head to look at Yun Si and saw a smile in his eyes.
She asked in a low voice, angrily: "Did you do this?"
"What are you talking about, sister? If you cheat here, you'll lose your hands." Yun Si praised happily, "If it weren't for sister, we would have lost all our money."
He even knows the rules here clearly...
She had a strong premonition that Yun Si was controlling everything.
Even her wins and losses here were controlled... She felt so oppressed that she couldn't breathe.
"Ha..." Jiang Li covered his chest and prepared to leave.
At this moment, the people from the gambling house suddenly rushed over and blocked her way: "You want to leave now that you've won the money?"
The hand of the person next to her on her waist suddenly paused.
Jiang Li sighed helplessly: Here it comes again...
But who would have thought that Yun Si would start arguing with them: "What are the rules here?"
The man yelled, "I am the rule."
Yun Si raised an eyebrow and whispered to Jiang Li, "Sister, stay here obediently. Don't let me catch you running away again."
Jiang Li's heartbeat suddenly quickened...
Why doesn't Yun Si play by the rules?
Yun Si released his hand from her waist and placed it on his chest, then said to the man, "Well, let's compare."
The man didn't expect this, and was stunned for a moment before saying, "Okay!"
Yun Si and others went inside. When they left, Yun Si gave her a meaningful look.
Jiang Li is the only one left here.
She touched her chest, feeling her heartbeat so hard that even stretching her hand was a little awkward. In the empty space around her, no one was watching her. The door was only three steps away, and no one would watch her leave.
Boom boom boom…
It's clamoring.
She recalled the look Yun Si gave him and knew it was a test, testing whether she would leave.
Jiang Li wanted to leave, but this didn't seem like the right time to do so. The atmosphere in the gambling house was extremely oppressive, the cramped silence nibbling at her beating heart.
She stared at the room Yun Si went to and was hesitating.
Take a gamble? Or wait for another opportunity?
The gambling game in the room has started and it’s time to place bets.
"Think carefully about it, young man," the man said, placing his chips in one place without even looking.
Yun Si shook his head: "It doesn't matter where I bet, does it mean I have to lose all my money to you today?"
"How can you say that!"
Yun Si chuckled and placed his bet elsewhere: "If that's the case, then I can only choose this place."
"Good!" the man clapped and urged, "Hurry up and start! Let's see the outcome in one round!"
Everyone held their breath and looked at the result.
Yun Si didn't look at it, and said calmly: "I lost."
"!" The man doubled his winnings and took away all the money from Yun Si.
Yun Si ignored the admiration of the people around him and turned to leave. But the man stopped him and said, "Sir, come back next time..."
Yun Si ignored him and walked straight to the door of the room.
The test was over and he didn't want to wait even a second longer.
The gambling hall was empty, with only an umbrella lying alone on the ground.
Yun Si scoffed and sighed deeply. He clenched his fists, his nails digging into his flesh.
Sister, you ran away again?
