Chapter 40 Disgusting, why aren’t you afraid of death?
My throat seemed to be stuck and I couldn't utter a single extra word.
Jiang Li looked at him and looked back.
Yun Si's eyes were full of aggression, revealing his dark side without any concealment.
There was dead silence all around.
Waiting for her to speak?
What? They'd both seen each other's darkest sides, so why would they still be so considerate? She was already kind enough not to stab him directly with a knife.
She didn't need to pretend to him anymore.
Jiang Li looked away and fixed his gaze on Xiao Bai: "Let it go."
But Yun Si ignored her and asked, "Sister, why aren't you surprised to see me?"
"I said let it go!"
"When did sister find out?" Yun Si continued to ask, his fingers slowly tightening around Xiaobai's neck.
Seeing that there was no way to convince him, Jiang Li could only compromise: "A dog bit you, how could you not know it?"
"Oh?" Yun Si's lips curled up. "So, Sister knew when I was doing those things, and yet she allowed me to do them. It seems Sister... likes it."
With a snap.
Jiang Li slapped him hard...
What nonsense is he talking about? If she doesn't tolerate it, who will suffer?
"Disgusting!" Jiang Li squeezed out two words from between his teeth, his chest heaving violently.
"Disgusting?" Yun Si slowly turned back, his eyes darkening. "What kind of disgust?"
"I feel so sick just seeing you!" The fear, anger, and grievances that had been suppressed for many days burst out like a flood, and Jiang Li almost roared out loud.
Yun Si looked at her out of control, but instead of getting angry, he laughed softly, his laughter filled with twisted pleasure.
"Sister, you said I'm disgusting? Fine then... I'll do something truly disgusting for you..."
Before he finished speaking, his sinister gaze suddenly locked onto Xiaobai, and the strength in his hands suddenly increased! That movement clearly meant to break Xiaobai's neck!
"No!" Jiang Li's pupils suddenly shrank, and he rushed forward desperately, using all his strength to tightly grasp Yun Si's wrist! His nails almost dug into his flesh!
The silent confrontation ended here...
She looked at Xiaobai with his eyes closed, and her eyes became wet. Warm tears flowed from the corners of her eyes and fell on the back of Yun Si's hand.
Yun Si's fingers trembled almost imperceptibly. He looked down at Jiang Li in disbelief.
Jiang Li's head hung low, her long hair obscuring her expression.
But the tears dripping on the back of his hand, with their scorching temperature, unexpectedly splashed into the darkest corner of his heart, stirring up a strange and panic-stricken ripple.
Just as he was about to speak, his neck was suddenly strangled by a pair of hands!
Looking up, he saw Jiang Li, filled with overwhelming hatred and rage that wanted to destroy everything!
Oh? Is my sister going to kill him?
Yun Si was not afraid at all. Instead, a morbid excitement ignited in his eyes, and he met her gaze with interest.
"I hate you!" She gritted her teeth.
He challenged, "Sister, are you going to kill me for a dog?"
"Yes! Kill you!" Jiang Li increased the strength in his hands.
But Yun Si was very strange. Even though his neck was being strangled and he had difficulty breathing, he did not resist and his hand was still on Xiaobai's neck.
"Ha..." He lowered his voice, almost whispering, "Sister, we will meet in the underworld..."
She let go...
Her heart was beating wildly and her breathing was a little difficult, as if she was the one who had been strangled.
"Why are you soft-hearted again..." There seemed to be some disappointment in his tone.
"You don't deserve it!" Jiang Li glared at him, "You don't deserve to die in my hands! You should be thrown into the mountains and let wild beasts tear you apart and devour you. Not even a bone should be left!"
"Sister...you hate me so much..." Yun Si coughed softly, with complex and indistinguishable emotions surging in his eyes.
Jiang Li chose to close his eyes...
Why couldn't she kill him! Why!
Why did he want Xiaobai to die as soon as he appeared? Why!
The wind blew through the hair accessories on Jiang Li's head, and the accessories collided with each other, making a crisp sound.
jingle.
Yun Si's eyes lit up... then he looked down at Jiang Li's furrowed brow.
"Sister, open your eyes and take a look again?"
"Go away! I don't want to see you!" Jiang Li chose to turn his back.
Yun Si sighed helplessly and slowly released his hand from Xiaobai's neck.
"Woof woof!"
Jiang Li suddenly came back to his senses...
Xiaobai's cry.
"Woof!"
She turned around and saw a ball of yellow.
Xiaobai is not dead...
She smiled in surprise and reached out to touch Xiaobai's head.
This was her first time touching it, it felt furry, soft and warm...
She noticed Yun Si's staring eyes, but didn't dare to look at him.
But there is no way, I have to face it...
She looked into Yun Si's eyes again: "Is it fun to play with me?"
Yun Si, on the other hand, said in a wronged tone, "When did I ever say I wanted to kill it?"
"You!" Jiang Li was speechless.
"I just thought it was too annoying and wanted to cut its tongue off. But I was afraid it would scare my sister, so I decided to poison it to make it mute..."
…
Are these two good decisions? How can he say it so comfortably?
Jiang Li just wanted to end the stalemate with him as soon as possible, even if it meant death, she would accept it: "Yun Si! What exactly are you going to do?"
"As you see, sister." Yun Si's eyes calmed down. "I'll ask you one last time, sister, will you come with me?"
"No." She answered firmly.
The air fell into an eerie silence.
She knew what Yun Si meant, but she didn't want to compromise. What would changing it all mean if she pretended again...
"Sister, have you made up your mind?"
"No matter what I say, you'll trap me and take me away."
"Smart!" Yun Si smiled and walked towards her, "Sister, let's go?"

When Ximen Yueyao walked in, she saw a table full of steaming food.
She looked at Jiang Li in surprise and disbelief: "You did it?"
After spending so much time together, she could actually more or less see Jiang Li's cooking skills... The vegetables that time were an accident, and she probably really wasn't very good at cooking.
Jiang Li smiled faintly at her: "Sit down and eat."
When Ximen Yueyao entered the house just now, she saw that Xiaobai had also finished his meal and was enjoying it in the yard...
She looked at the sumptuous dish and couldn't wait to take two bites: "Delicious!"
It’s really delicious!
"Eat more!" Jiang Li picked up some food for her as if nothing had happened.
For some reason, Ximen Yueyao always felt something was wrong: "Is there something wrong with you?"
"Yeah." Jiang Li agreed, "I should go now."
"Why!" Ximen Yueyao was so anxious that her chopsticks fell to the ground.
Jiang Li calmly picked up the chopsticks for her and comforted her, "Meeting and separation are very common. No one will stay with someone forever."
"Why can't you stay..." She knew she couldn't change Jiang Li's mind, but she still tried to dissuade him.
"No reason..." Jiang Li smiled at her.
After a long silence, Ximen Yueyao spoke again: "Then... when will you leave?"
The emotion that was deliberately not revealed actually revealed even more sadness.
"Tomorrow morning." Jiang Li lied to her, actually it was tonight...
She told Yun Si to give her some time to say goodbye.
But he refused to let her stay overnight and insisted on taking her away today.
"It's okay!" Ximen Yueyao forced a smile, but her eyes were unconsciously moist. The food that had been delicious just now had become tasteless for some reason.
Ximen Yueyao didn't ask her where she was going, and the meal went on quietly. She tried to avoid the question and ignore the fact that she was leaving.
Outside, the sky was turning red. Jiang Li sat quietly at the table, scanning the objects around him. Every place held a memory.
The pot of flowers by the bed was specially placed for her by Ximen Yueyao, who said it had a calming effect.
With a creak, the door was pushed open.
Jiang Li's heart trembled.
Fortunately, it was Ximen Yueyao who came in.
She sat down opposite Jiang Li and said to him, "Actually, I don't want you to leave..."
"I know."
I don't want to leave either.
She tried to continue speaking, but all she could say was sobs. Ximen Yueyao seemed to understand something and burst into tears.
She cried for a long time, and Jiang Li didn't say anything, just looked at her quietly.
"Wait for me!" Ximen Yueyao suddenly stopped sobbing and wiped her face.
"good."
She stood up and ran out the door.
She was rummaging through boxes and drawers, looking for something, in a panic and running around in circles.
After a long time, she finally found it!
She rushed back, holding the box. Before even entering the house, he couldn't wait to call her: "Jiang..."
With a bang, the box fell to the ground...
The house was empty, no one was in sight...
The afterglow of the setting sun stretched the shadows of the two people very long and entangled them together, just like the fate that she could not escape at the moment.
Yun Si smiled and reached out to her.
Jiang Li looked at Yun Si's outstretched hand, her smile brimming with undeniable control. She knew resistance was futile; any struggle would only result in even harsher treatment or implicate Ximen Yueyao and Xiaobai.
She didn't move, staring blankly at the sky behind him, dyed red by the setting sun. The breath of freedom seemed to still linger in her nose, but it vanished in the blink of an eye.
Seeing her unmoving, Yun Si's patience ran out, and his smile faded slightly. He stepped forward, his movements as fast as lightning, and firmly grasped Jiang Li's slender wrist with one hand, so strong that she frowned instantly.
"Since sister won't move, let Asi do it." His voice sounded next to her ear, and the cold breath brushed across her skin, causing a shiver.
Jiang Li didn't scream, but her body stiffened instantly. The feeling of restraint on her wrist was like a cold iron hoop, crushing her last shred of hope. She closed her eyes resignedly, allowing the irresistible force to drag her away from where she was.
She was led to a carriage.
Jiang Li didn't know how he found a carriage in such a short time, and she didn't want to know.
Yun Si opened the tightly closed car door and it was dark inside.
"Sister, please." His voice carried an unquestionable command.
Jiang Li stared at the entrance to the carriage, as if she were looking at another prison. She took a deep breath, the icy air stinging her lungs. Without glancing at Yun Si again, she silently bent down and slipped inside, with an almost numb determination.
The car door closed heavily behind her with a dull sound, blocking out the last rays of light, the small courtyard that had briefly sheltered her, Ximen Yueyao and Xiaobai, and also the little bit of warmth and freedom she had just touched.
Jiang Li leaned against the cold car wall and slowly opened her eyes, adjusting to the darkness. A dull ache on her wrist, where Yun Si had gripped her, reminded her of the cold reality.
She raised her other hand and gently touched her neck, where the cold and possessive touch from last night seemed to still remain.
Jiang Li suddenly chuckled: "Why aren't you afraid of death?"
