Chapter 54: Doing Bad Things on the Way Back

Chapter 54: Doing Bad Things on the Way Back

On the day of departure, the sky was clear and the sun was particularly bright.

Jiang Li sat quietly in the carriage, staring blankly out the window. Yun Si, standing beside her, followed her closely, his gaze never leaving her side.

She coughed lightly, and he handed her water; she raised her hand, and he offered her a handkerchief; she bent down slightly, and he immediately spread out his cloak...

The scenery outside the window changed, but Yun Si only had her in his eyes.

Originally, he wanted to stick by her side all the time, but after Jiang Li said, "Don't let me bother you just when I have a little affection for you," he immediately restrained himself a lot.

He was now obedient, just sitting quietly beside her. But while Jiang Li was focused on looking outside, he quietly reached out and tied her belt with his own.

"How long will it take to get back to Miaojiang?" Jiang Li suddenly turned around and asked.

Yun Si hurriedly sat up straight, pretending nothing had happened: "It will be here in a day or two."

Jiang Li turned his head and looked away.

Thinking back to the past two days when Yun Si always went out early and came back late, except for occasionally sneaking into bed in the middle of the night and making some noise, he was almost as if he had disappeared. She finally had two days of peace.

It wasn't like Jiang Li hadn't considered leaving midway, but that was practically impossible. Not to mention Yun Si's close watch, the love poison and the life-and-death poison alone had locked her firmly to his side.

So, Yun Si was not afraid of her running away at all.

Around noon, the carriage stopped by a stream for a short rest. Jiang Li was about to disembark, but as he stood up, he felt a pulling force and fell uncontrollably into Yun Si's arms.

His arm stiffened slightly, then he held her as if nothing had happened, his fingertips still lingering on her sleeve. He whispered in her ear, his breath warm, "Sister, do you really enjoy throwing yourself into my arms?"

Jiang stood up and caught a glimpse of the thin belt between them. He was speechless for a moment. He clenched his fist and hit him hard in the waist: "Get out!"

Yun Si reached out to untie his belt, jumped out of the car first, turned around and extended his hand to her.

Jiang Li hesitated for a moment, then finally extended his hand. He didn't let go immediately, but instead held it tighter, saying, "Rest here for a moment."

A gentle breeze caressed my face, and the gurgling stream brought a refreshing coolness. Suddenly, I heard a dog barking. It turned out that Ah Feng had also been brought out for a walk.

The servant walked towards Jiang Li with the dog.

Seeing Afeng wagging his tail happily, Jiang Li stretched out his hand with a smile.

Yun Si's mouth froze. He glanced at the dog with disgust, then turned to stare at the servant holding the dog, his eyes as cold as a knife.

The servant felt an inexplicable chill on his back, but he didn't know where the chill came from, so he had to quicken his pace.

Afeng moved closer to Jiang Li and rubbed his head against her palm obediently.

The man and the dog played around for a while before Yun Si finally couldn't help but speak, a hint of displeasure in his voice: "Sister, let's have someone take it for a walk first. Dogs need some exercise."

In fact, dogs are not that fun. Jiang Li was just deliberately ignoring him. She withdrew her hand and nodded: "Okay."

As soon as her hand left Afeng's, she felt a tightness around her wrist. Yun Si had already grasped her wrist, and with his other hand he took out a handkerchief and began to wipe her hand carefully.

He disliked Afeng and made no secret of it.

Jiang Li frowned slightly: "You hate dogs?"

Yun Si blurted out: "Yes."

"What kind of hate is it?" Jiang Li wanted to ask whether he hated the dog itself or hated her being close to the dog.

Yun Si pursed his lips and his voice became muffled: "I don't want to see it, and I don't want to see it pestering you."

Jiang Li was even more puzzled: "Then why did you choose to come and give it to me?"

Yun Si curled his lips, he couldn’t figure it out either!

He is simply bored and has nothing better to do. He found an annoying thing to keep in front of his eyes every day, but he can't even move it.

Yun Si had originally planned to take advantage of the break to enjoy the scenery with Jiang Li and strengthen their relationship, but in the end, that dog ruined everything. Before they could even say a few words, they were about to set off again.

While Jiang Li was getting into the car first, Yun Si whispered to the attendant, "Stop letting that dog hang around in front of me!"

The attendant responded: "Yes!"

Jiang Li had a habit of taking a nap, and after eating and drinking, she leaned against the side and fell asleep. Yun Si got in the car and saw that she was sleeping soundly, so he sat down next to her gently.

The carriage continued to move, a little more smoothly than before.

After leaving the room, Yun Si took down her bell. After all, Jiang Li was shy about enjoying the pleasures of the boudoir, so she decided not to let outsiders see it.

After rushing and hurrying, we finally found a place to stay before sunset.

Yun Si looked at the sleeping person beside him, with a heavy heart.

She was a little too quiet... Today was the day when the love poison took effect.

He was about to reach out and hug her when Jiang Li woke up, pushed him away and looked out the window. He saw an inn.

She was just about to stand up and go down when Yun Si grabbed her.

Yun Si looked at her and asked, "Are you feeling unwell?"

Jiang Li looked at him coldly: "Don't curse me."

“…”

Jiang Li shook off her hand and got out of the car on his own.

Yun Si looked at Jiang Li's carefree back and couldn't help but frown. Logically, today was the day when the love poison would attack, so why didn't Jiang Li react at all?

Not to mention a reaction, Jiang Li didn't even give him a glance, went to the inn and fell asleep.

On the contrary, Yun Si, perhaps because of the anticipation along the way, or perhaps because of the worry about the effect of the love poison, tossed and turned and couldn't fall asleep.

The next day, Jiang Li saw Yun Si looking listless and couldn't help but ask, "What's wrong with you?"

Yun Si chose to shake his head and remain silent. After all, he couldn't bring up the love Gu, as Jiang Li was still holding a grudge against him!

The carriage set out on its journey again early and will reach Miaojiang today.

Jiang Li had slept soundly yesterday, but now she wasn't feeling sleepy anymore. Yun Si wanted to talk to her, so he said, "There's a fog around the Miao border, and it's difficult for outsiders to get in."

"Then what about coming out?" Jiang Lijing asked something that Yun Si didn't want to hear.

"Same thing."

Jiang Li hummed in agreement and then asked, "Then do you think I can get out of that fog by myself?"

Yun Si gritted his teeth and replied, "No."

Yun Si inexplicably felt unhappy during the conversation. But he still insisted, "Sister, aren't you curious about Miaojiang?"

"Not curious." Jiang Li leaned against the window and looked outside.

This time, Yun Si shut up obediently.

But the peaceful atmosphere only lasted for a short while.

A familiar surge boiled in Jiang Li's body.

Jiang Li glanced at Yun Si, who was leaning against the side, resting his eyes. She bit her lower lip and leaned against the side to catch her breath.

She cursed in her heart, what a rotten love poison! It didn't strike earlier or later, but had to strike when she was on the road.

Yun Si could hear the slightly rapid breathing clearly.

Although he didn't know why the Gu had taken so long to take effect, Yun Si felt relieved that it hadn't lost its effect. But that voice made the corners of his mouth curl up.

He closed his eyes and pretended to be asleep.

Even though the breeze blowing into the carriage was refreshing, it couldn't calm the heat in her heart. Jiang Li clutched the window sill tightly, trying to resist with reason.

She tasted blood; her lip had been bitten.

Yun Si didn't wait for Jiang Li to take the initiative, and quietly opened her eyes to take a peek. She saw Jiang Li biting his lip while trying to hold on to something, and she didn't care about anything else.

He reached out to pry her teeth shut: "It's bleeding."

Jiang Li looked at him and tried to push him away with his hands.

Yun Si stared at the bleeding lip, reached out and pinched her chin, forcing her to open her mouth. He found an opportunity when Jiang Li was breathing and quickly stretched out his finger to block between her teeth.

The tips of the teeth dug into his skin, and he felt a stinging pain.

Yun Si looked at the blood dripping from her lips and couldn't help but sigh: She was so cruel to herself... Yun Si approached: "We need to remove the poison."

Jiang Li's eyes suddenly became sharp and he glared at Yun Si hatefully.

Detoxification? In this carriage? Clearly a deliberate humiliation!

Yun Si whispered to comfort him, "I promise, it will be fine soon."

Jiang Li didn't believe a word of it. His knuckles turned white and he almost crushed the thing in his hand.

Yun Si didn't wait for her to respond, and reached out to lift her skirt. Jiang Li hurriedly blocked his advance with both hands, and was about to scold him when he covered his lips with his hands.

His voice was very low, and his breath brushed past her ears: "Don't make a sound, there are people outside. Do you really want to be heard?"

Jiang Li glared at him, his words choking in his throat, turning into indistinct sobs. "Why did you choose to go out today... Did you plan this all along? Are you deliberately trying to embarrass me?"

He did plan it, but it was originally scheduled for yesterday, but for some reason it was postponed for a day.

Yun Si chuckled softly, but there was no apology in his tone: "How can this be considered embarrassing?"

Jiang Li was about to retort, but his fingertips gently pressed on her lips.

"Shh...if you make any more noise, people outside will notice."

His words were half consolation and half threat.

Jiang Li was filled with emotion. He knew exactly how to make her submit. He first kissed her lips, swallowing up all her unfinished words, while his other hand went to lift her skirt without a word.

Jiang Li trembled all over and wanted to resist, but his increasingly intense kiss distracted her.
