Chapter 71 [VIP]

Chapter 71 [VIP]

Shen Jinshan's encounter with these three people was indeed just a coincidence. The developer had extended a warm invitation to him to come and inspect the area, and he felt it would be impolite to refuse, which led to his chance encounter with them.

It has been almost a year since I last saw Chenmian.

Shen Jinshan's body has fully recovered, but the ed caused by his previous psychological resistance still shows no signs of recovery, but he doesn't care much about it.

Despite witnessing Shen Mian being caught cheating by his boyfriend, and discovering that the other woman was his younger brother, Shen Jinshan remained largely unmoved.

Only when he took away the sleeping boy, who was once his younger brother and later the object of his erotic dreams, and was completely naked, did his heart soften.

The skin on the shoulder and neck of the person in his arms was exposed, covered with kiss marks and a bright red tooth mark. Shen Jinshan's eyes fell on it, and soon his eyes began to sting and feel a little pain.

Shen Mian really got together with Zong Bingwen, and not only that, he also got involved with Shen Ci.

Shen Jinshan felt a dull ache in his heart. He hugged the boy in his arms tightly and spoke again, "Do you like Shen Ci very much? What about Zong Bingwen?"

Chen Mian was in a state of utter confusion and paid no attention to Chen Jinshan's reaction.

Having been caught red-handed by Zong Bingwen, aside from a little embarrassment and concern for both Shen Ci and Zong Bingwen, his guilt seemed to be only a tiny bit.

As for Shen Jinshan, aside from the moment he first saw the other person and his heart tightening slightly, after being carried away by the man, he focused entirely on the two people in the room.

Shen Jinshan won't get beaten by Zong Bingwen, so what's there to say?

But the man holding him tightened his grip, and Shenmian cried out in pain. He then tried to jump off Shen Jinshan's arms, not wanting to be held.

Shen Jinshan wouldn't let him go: "Mianmian, don't be stubborn."

Chenmian sneered, then said in a sarcastic tone, "Why didn't you stay there and stop them? I'm not your biological brother, but Shen Ci is, right? And the other one is your good junior."

"What are you saying?" Shen Jinshan frowned. "Shen Ci... don't mind him, Zong Bingwen knows what's going on." As he spoke, he lifted the boy who was moving around in his arms by his bottom and raised him up a bit.

Shen Mian was furious. She wrapped her arms around Shen Jinshan's neck and pounded his back hard with one hand, making a dull thud. "How could you be so mean? Does Zong Bingwen even know what's going on? He's usually such a gentle and refined person, but he looked so scary when he left. I was really frightened..."

Shen Jinshan glanced down at Shen Mian, whose face had turned pale, and thought to himself that it would be best if the two of them fought each other to death.

Even Shen Ci could do it, so is his persistence really meaningful?

But he wouldn't say what he was really thinking; he would just offer a hypocritical reassurance: "Be good, I'll take you to your room and then we'll go see them."

"Where are you going to send me?" Chenmian asked suspiciously.

Shen Jinshan remained expressionless: "My room."

Chenmian gritted her teeth and cursed Shen Jinshan for being shameless, while tightening her grip on his neck.

During this trip, Shen Jinshan stayed in a suite arranged by his business partners. The suite was quite different from their villa. The master bedroom had an indoor hot spring by the window, with steam rising gently.

Shenmian recalled a long time ago, when Lin Langli had just returned. He had moved into Shen Jinshan's house in a huff and had no sense of propriety at all, asking to borrow the bathtub.

At that time, he took a bath with the scent of freesia and smelled nice, but Shen Jinshan was particularly cold to him and made him blow-dry his hair himself.

That's really bad.

Shen Jinshan carefully placed Shen Mian on the bed in the center of the bedroom, brushed away the damp strands of hair clinging to the boy's cheeks, knelt down, and looked at Shen Mian. After a few seconds, the man lowered his eyes and looked away from Shen Mian, asking in a low voice, "Mianmian, do you like Zong Bingwen?"

Shen Mian still remembered Shen Jinshan's "substitute theory".

The boy first glanced quickly at the man waiting for an answer, then quickly lowered his eyes, muttering to himself without saying a word.

"Do you like it?" Zong Bingwen asked again, leaning closer to Chenmian.

At such close range, even the pores on Shen Jinshan's face and the dark circles under his eyes could be seen clearly. Shen Mian suddenly wondered if Shen Jinshan had any fine lines.

He used to laugh so much, but now he's getting quite old, is it possible he still does?

He looked up and gazed intently at the scene.

Shen Jinshan did have a few fine lines, but this did not detract from his handsome and mature appearance; on the contrary, it added to his charm.

A strange feeling crept into Chenmian's heart, like the bubbling and churning of summer sparkling water.

He became very uneasy, his heart pounding.

Then Chenmian spoke up, saying decisively, "I like it quite a bit, but don't flatter yourself—Zong Bingwen is not like you."

"How is it different?" Shen Jinshan asked.

Shen Mian racked her brains to find all sorts of differences, and stubbornly gave examples: "They are much gentler and better than you. Shen Jinshan, you are a smiling tiger. You have always looked down on me. Zong Bingwen would not think like that. His gentleness and kindness are very sincere. He would only feel that I have not had enough. How is he like you?"

The last inappropriate sentence slipped out.

It's often said online that having expectations of someone is a subtle form of violence; expecting things from others and trying to meet their expectations are both forms of violence.

Chen Mian had long said she wanted to sever all ties with Shen Jinshan and go her separate ways, but when she stood in front of him, she still called him "brother." Even if she didn't, people would just think she was being stubborn.

There could be no more complicated relationship than theirs.

Shen Jinshan was always hesitant, both looking down on him and liking him. He was willing to treat him well and satisfy his needs and demands, but he was unwilling to give his true feelings and even pushed him to other people.

But it's not quite right to think he's a very generous person.

He was with Lin Langli, and Shen Jinshan was about to come out and separate them again.

In a moment of deep sleep, he thought about many things. He even wondered if he would cheat on Lin Langli if he were still dating him.

The answer seems to be no.

What if she were to be with Shen Jinshan? That's hard to say.

Even if he had accepted that confession, given his personality, he would probably have been disappointed very quickly after realizing how empty and lacking Shen Jinshan's sincerity was.

Chenmian picked at his fingers, shrinking back from his own precarious moral compass.

Shen Jinshan tilted his head slightly, his expression unchanged: "Better than me?"

Chenmian nodded hesitantly, confirming her words: "Yes, your judgment is a bit better than mine." Her tone was sarcastic.

Shen Jinshan twitched the corners of his mouth, but there was no real smile in his eyes.

The man stood up and straightened up on the edge of the bed, his gaze fixed on Shen Mian.

He was still wrapped in that white down comforter, but he knew perfectly well that the boy was not wearing anything underneath.

He exhaled deeply, turned around and fetched one of his own shirts for Chenmian, explaining under the boy's suspicious gaze, "A shirt is enough, my pants will be too big for you."

After saying that, he chuckled again, seemingly reverting to the gentle and kind older brother he was in Shen Mian's earliest memories, and asked, "Mianmian, do you still have any energy? Do you want your brother to help you take a bath?"

"Are you trying to take advantage of me?" Chen Mian asked warily, quickly replying, "Get lost, I don't want you!"

Shen Jinshan was speechless for a moment before speaking: "Mianmian, I..."

"What?"

“I have a problem there,” Shen Jinshan said casually. “Don’t worry.”

His dormant mind seemed to have crashed; it took him a full half-minute to process what was happening before the boy changed his expression, frowning as he asked, "What's the problem? Is it not allowed?"

“…Yes.” Shen Jinshan continued to admit, “I have erectile dysfunction.”

Good heavens. Shen Jinshan actually has this kind of hidden ailment. Upon learning this news, the panic and worry that had filled me earlier vanished in an instant, leaving only deep confusion.

Chenmian hesitated for a moment, her gaze involuntarily shifting downwards, and asked vaguely, "Your family is so wealthy, and you look like a respectable person, how could it not work?"

He was desperately trying to recall his memories of his interactions with Shen Jinshan.

However, in my memory, the plant's growth was distinct and pleasing to the eye, unlike what Shen Jinshan described.

As for whether there was any movement? I really have no recollection of it.

Shen Jinshan chuckled lightly, neither confirming nor denying: "So, Mianmian, do you need your brother to help you take a bath?"

After a long and tiring day, Shen Mian had to deal with Shen Ci. Although he and Shen Ci didn't finish everything, his whole body was licked by the other. If Shen Jinshan hadn't carried him away, Shen Mian might not have had the strength to get out of bed and leave.

The boy eventually agreed to Shen Jinshan's service.

Shen Jinshan did not carry him to the indoor hot spring, but instead very properly carried the boy into the bathroom, turned on the shower, and filled the bathtub with water.

After falling into a deep sleep, he belatedly realized how exhausted he was, unable to even lift a single finger. He discarded the shame that his former brother and secret admirer had washed away for him, and closed his eyes to feel the hot water spraying over his body.

Shen Jinshan squeezed out a large amount of shower gel and carefully rubbed it all over his body.

He didn't use a bath net, only his fingers and palms. Shen Jinshan's fingertips still had thin calluses, and when they brushed against his skin, Shen Mian couldn't help but tremble all over.

Especially when touching certain private parts.

Shenmian opened her eyes involuntarily, her ear tips turning red, and covered her chest with her arms, saying, "Don't touch here."

"But it's swollen." Shen Jinshan's eyes were light and his tone unreadable. "Who bit it? Shen Ci?"

He naturally assumed that the person who would bite and leave teeth marks like a dog would be Shen Ci.

But that's not the case. Shen Ci does bite, but she prefers to lick Shen Mian, making Shen Mian all wet.

“It’s Zong Bingwen. Your good junior.” Chen Mian’s eyes flickered for a moment. “He’s quite different from you, isn’t he?”

The grip on his arm suddenly tightened.

Looking at the man's gloomy face, Chenmian couldn't help but feel a little smug, as if he would win as long as he could stab or hurt the other party.

The air in the room remained thick with steam, the continuous hot water vapor irritating the pores, and even the faces in each other's eyes seemed to be blurred by the heat.

After a long while, Shen Jinshan finally spoke, his voice strained: "Mianmian."

"Aren't you happy? You introduced your good junior to me, and my parents and I are all very satisfied with him. Isn't that exactly what you wanted?"

Shen Jinshan shook his head, a hint of pain in his eyes: "I'm sorry, I'm unhappy."

"Oh," Shen Mian responded slowly, then added after a while, "It's alright, anyway, there's no possibility between us—besides, you're not ready yet, so there's even less of a possibility. Shen Jinshan, if only you had told me about this sooner." Her tone even carried a hint of regret as she spoke.

He was truly a naive yet cruel person.

Even though Shen Jinshan carried him back and on the way there he was still shouting that the man should stop the fight between the two in the room, but after Shen Jinshan offered to help him take a bath, Shen Mian selfishly kept him there.

But Shenmian was completely unaware of this; he was, after all, a very self-centered person.

Moreover, even in this state, he still attracts a constant stream of people to his side.

Some may leave along the way, but that's alright, Chenmian didn't care much.

Will Zong Bingwen leave him?

After provoking Shen Jinshan, Shenmian's conscience kicked in, and he worriedly thought about how he and Zong Bingwen would get along afterward.

Of course, there are men in the world who are willing to forgive their wives' mistakes, but many more are simply intolerant.

Zong Bingwen had been kind enough to him. Looking back now, Shen Mian realized that when Zong Bingwen caught him and Shen Ci in bed, he was trying to give him a chance and a way out.

But why was Shen Mian so responsible back then? He wouldn't even lie to Zong Bingwen. Was he worried about disappointing Shen Ci? But even if Shen Ci was disappointed, he wouldn't leave him.

Chenmian felt a pang of regret.

Zong Bingwen had already tolerated him a lot. Before this, he would sometimes miss Lin Langli, and sometimes he would get involved with Shen Ci and leave marks on his body. Zong Bingwen would not have failed to notice or see these things, but the other party still tolerated them.

After breaking up with Zong Bingwen, where could he find someone else who would treat him like that?

Furthermore, the other party is good in appearance, manners, and family background; even his parents, who are experienced in business, are very satisfied with him.

If they found out that Zong Bingwen broke up with him because his two younger sons got together, would his parents be so angry that they fainted?

Chenmian bit his knuckles, deep in thought. The burden of these thoughts was too heavy, and as he pondered, he began to blame Zong Bingwen again—

It's all his fault for spoiling himself. If he had been severely reprimanded and asked to end the relationship when he first discovered his affair with Shen Ci, would he have ended up in this situation?

It's also Shen Ci's fault for clinging to him so tightly, relying on the deep affection they had shared over the past nineteen years to make him allow this improper, unhealthy, and unacceptable relationship to be made public.

Shen Jinshan gently removed the knuckles from his hand that had been bitten and had teeth marks seeping out. The man seemed to be truly without desires at this moment, his face calm.

A thought suddenly occurred to her, and she hooked her arm around her former brother's neck, soaking his clothes. With her beautiful, watery eyes, she asked, "Brother, will you help me cover this up in front of Mom and Dad?"

The cleaning of Shen Jinshan had already reached the boy's belly, waist, and back. Upon hearing this, he raised his face and stared at Shen Mian expressionlessly.

Chenmian looked at him with pleading eyes and put on a pitiful act: "Brother, you know I'm not Mom and Dad's biological child. They were already heartbroken because I sent Lin Langli abroad. If they find out about Shen Ci and me, they'll definitely abandon me. What am I going to do then?"

“Brother,” his voice softened, and he leaned his head against the man’s shoulder and neck, nuzzling against him, and said, “You must have a way, right? If Zong Bingwen wants to break up with me, then so be it, but this matter cannot be known to anyone else.”

"..." Shen Jinshan was silent for a moment, seemingly lost in thought. After a long while, the man asked softly, "But Mianmian, how will you repay me?"

That's outrageous! They actually expect him to repay them!

He harbored resentment in his heart, but on the surface, he put on the act of a good younger brother that he had shown in front of Shen Jinshan a long time ago, hugged the man, and coaxed him in a muffled voice.

Shen Jinshan stiffened for a moment, as if he hadn't been touched so intimately in a long time. But two seconds later, the man's hand still rose up slightly, finally gently covering the boy's soft hair and stroking it softly, one stroke at a time.

Upon hearing Shen Jinshan speak, Shen Mian replied, "Okay, I will."

This was simpler than he had imagined. Chenmian, holding the man in front of her, was surprised.

He thought he would have to give something in return, but did Shen Jinshan only want a hug?

Shen Mian felt a moment of emptiness in his heart, but quickly found a reason—Shen Ci was his own younger brother. He could ignore him, but he couldn't ignore Shen Ci as well, could he? Besides, this matter wouldn't sound good if it got out, and Shen Jinshan himself would inevitably be affected.

So it must be for these reasons that he agreed so easily. Could it be that he still has feelings for her?

Sleep does not think so.

But while reason still held this in mind, emotions and feelings didn't quite agree. Chenmian subtly pursed her lips and playfully pushed the man in front of her, urging him to continue cleaning.

Shen Jinshan continued washing in silence, and Shen Mian finally sensed that something was wrong.

It seems a bit too much. Even if Shen Jinshan has a dysfunction in that area, he is still a man who once had feelings for him.

Now she's cleaning up the marks left on his body by other men.

That's really strange.

Shenmian reacted very slowly to the inappropriateness of her behavior, and when Shen Jinshan reached down, she gently pushed the man's wrist with her palm.

Shen Jinshan shifted his forearm and looked up at Shen Mian. Shen Mian said awkwardly, "Brother, you don't need to do this. I can do it myself." After a while, as if trying to maintain his image, the boy said, "Actually, it's nothing. Shen Ci and I... didn't go all the way."

Shen Jinshan remained unmoved, his eyelashes blinking slowly, but he did not change his mind because of Shen Mian's words.

There were medical gloves in the sink drawer in the bathroom. Under Shen Mian's gaze, Shen Jinshan slowly took them out and put them on one by one.

After doing all this, the man finally spoke: "It's alright, I'm just checking." As soon as he finished speaking, Shen Mian was held down, and Shen Jinshan's hand reached out and entered her without saying a word.

Shen Mian felt awkward, ashamed, and embarrassed. He felt the foreign object probing into his body and desperately tried to escape Shen Jinshan's actions, which he felt were completely inappropriate.

Shen Jinshan's inspection was very slow.

Time stretched on endlessly, a mixture of embarrassment and a fleeting sense of pleasure, a jumble of emotions swirling within me. I shed tears of regret, finally understanding the lesson of getting something for nothing.

If he knew it would be exhausting, why was he so lazy and foolish to listen to Shen Jinshan and send himself into the lion's den? If Shen Jinshan wasn't suitable, there were other places, weren't there?

She sobbed softly, wiping her face repeatedly with the back of her hand.

The so-called "inspection" finally ended, and Shen Jinshan's face turned cold. The man took off his rubber gloves, casually threw them aside, and said expressionlessly, "Chen Mian, you shouldn't have been so lenient with them."

“No…” Chen Mian still tried to maintain her image. “He’s my boyfriend, how could I refuse him?”

"Will it be like that again?" Shen Jinshan asked casually. "After breaking up with him, who will you be with? Shen Ci?"

"...I...I'll go back to Lin Langli." Chen Mian wiped away the tears from the corners of her eyes, feeling extremely ashamed.

Shen Jinshan is indeed still the same person who is wicked to the core. Even if he finds another boyfriend after breaking up, he is the first one to be excluded.

As for Shen Ci, that's unlikely; Shen Mian still cares a lot about her reputation.

Thinking about it this way, I still need to go back to find my first love, Lin Langli.

Tears streamed down Chen Mian's face, completely unaware that Chen Jinshan's expression had instantly turned extremely cold and terrifying after he finished speaking.

The shower in the bathroom was still running, hot water was still flowing out. Chenmian glanced at the bathtub next to her that was already full of water, and sobbed, wanting to move in and take a bath to soothe her mood.

Shen Jinshan rubbed his temples, picked up Shen Mian and put her in the bathtub, then coldly dripped aromatherapy oil onto the boy, making the bathroom smell fragrant.

Shen Mian slept in Shen Jinshan's bed that night. Originally, the boy thought he would not be able to sleep, but when he was wrapped in Shen Jinshan's shirt and lying on Shen Jinshan's bed, Shen Mian felt particularly at ease.

He had no idea what happened outside while he slept soundly through the night. He only knew that when he woke up the next morning, Shen Jinshan was already back, propping his forehead up on the single armchair by the bed, his eyes fixed on him. This scene was somewhat similar to Lin Langli's presence by the bedside a long time ago, and Shen Mian was momentarily dazed.

"I think I have a fever, I feel awful..." The boy half-closed his eyes and reached out from under the covers to touch the person beside the bed. "Brother, how are they?"

Shen Jinshan took the boy's fingertips in his hand and then held Shen Mian's whole hand in his palm, and replied, "They're fine. They went to the hospital to get bandaged up last night. Shen Ci broke his arm, but it's okay. We can just tell our parents that he fell while skiing."

Where is Zong Bingwen?

Recalling how Shen Mian had once called him "Brother Bingwen" in such an affectionate way, Shen Jinshan's brows furrowed in disgust as he turned his face away: "He's alright, just a little head injury."

In fact, Zong Bingwen's injury wasn't just a minor head wound; when Shen Ci and he were arguing and fighting, Shen Ci's blow scraped off a layer of skin on Zong Bingwen's face.

At first, he didn't think much of it, but as time went on, the conspicuous scrape turned into a bruise, greatly ruining the beauty of his handsome face. Zong Bingwen belatedly realized Shen Ci's ruthlessness.

Shen Ci was quite pleased with himself. He did it on purpose. Although he didn't know if Shen Mian liked Zong Bingwen's looks, as long as he didn't have an outstanding face, Zong Bingwen would never catch Shen Mian's eye again.

He had already realized that Shen Ci had dealt him such a heavy blow, yet remained silent about Shen Mian's mistakes, which told him that Zong Bingwen didn't actually want to break up with him very much.

Having learned so much about her rival, Shen Ci felt a sense of defeat and couldn't help but start to overthink what would happen between the two of them after Shen Mian was taken away by Shen Jinshan last night.

Has Shen Jinshan truly given up? He doesn't know.

However, Chenmian is not a very determined person, and she is also a bit gluttonous. If Shen Jinshan were shameless enough to seduce Chenmian, Chenmian might very well agree.

It's really one after another, never-ending.

Shen Ci slammed his fist on the bed, grabbed his phone, and tapped his fingers to try and contact Shen Mian.

Shen Mian had already received the phone that Shen Jinshan had brought back for him. He was nervously and expectantly trying to find an excuse for Zong Bingwen when Shen Ci's message popped up, along with a puppy emoji and flattering words from the other party.

He pretended not to see it and gritted his teeth as he continued to think about how to explain, but the entire message was full of nonsense, from "Bingwen, I have my reasons..." to "No matter what, I can understand, this was my mistake after all," not a single word was Chenming's true thoughts.

Chen Mian had neither a reason nor the right to accept any action by Zong Bingwen to retaliate against him.

I tapped around on the screen with my fingertip, and when I finally decided to send the message, a red exclamation mark appeared on the screen.

Chenmian opened his eyes wide in disbelief, finding it hard to believe that Zong Bingwen had actually deleted him like that?

Even clay figures have their tempers, and besides, a sleeping person is not a clay figure.

The boy angrily put down his phone and threw a cushion next to him, which landed right on Shen Jinshan, who had just finished his call and entered the room.

Shen Jinshan took the pillow, tossed it aside, walked to the bed, glanced at the small cup of medicine on the bedside table, frowned disapprovingly, and said in a deep voice, "Mianmian, you can't skip your medicine when you're sick."

Shen Mian was in a bad mood and didn't want to give Shen Jinshan a friendly look at all.

But after glancing at the man's phone, Shen Mian obediently curled her lips and pitifully asked Shen Jinshan to lend her his phone to send a message to Zong Bingwen.

He first asked Shen Jinshan to take a picture of the medicine on the bedside table, and then intentionally or unintentionally included half of Shen Jinshan's figure in the picture.

Then, mimicking Shen Jinshan's tone, he sent a message to Zong Bingwen: "[Shen Mian is very willful. He said he won't take his medicine until he has explained things clearly to you.]"

After sending the message, without waiting for a reply, Chenmian's forehead was burning hot, and she fell asleep immediately.

When she woke up again, two hours had passed. Shen Jinshan was nowhere to be found. Shen Mian touched her head, feeling dizzy, and picked up the water glass on the bedside table to drink.

He drank a little too quickly, and some water spilled out, sliding down the boy's long, soft neck.

Just then, Zong Bingwen pushed the door open and came in. His face was covered with cotton pads and bandages, and the edges of the cotton cloth were faintly purplish-blue.

As she held her water glass, her gaze fell on the man's face, and tears quickly welled up in her eyes, forming small puddles before streaming down his cheeks in large drops.

The tears that flowed down were round and full, like transparent pearls. Zong Bingwen's heart softened subconsciously, but he immediately tensed up, walked closer with a blank expression, and said, "I'm here, Chenmian. What do you want to explain to me?"

Chenmian bit her lip and shook her head, tears streaming down her face as if they would never end.

Zong Bingwen watched Chenmian cry with a cold face. His lips moved, but he couldn't help but speak: "Alright, stop pretending to be pitiful in front of me. Chenmian, just say what you have to say—drink your medicine first."

"...I'm so sorry, Brother Bingwen. I was so sad to see you injured. It's all my fault." As her tears gradually stopped, Chenmian obediently picked up the medicine from the side, but spat it out after taking a sip. She raised her face and looked at Zong Bingwen with her watery eyes. "The medicine is cold."

Zong Bingwen, his face ashen, brewed another cup of medicine for Chenmian. Seeing the oranges on the plate, he subconsciously peeled one, removing the white veins from the peel, and placed it on the tray along with the medicine.

Just as he was about to carry the tray into the room, Zong Bingwen suddenly realized what was happening, stuffed the orange into his mouth, and swallowed it in two bites.

Shenmian was completely unaware of this, obediently picking up the medicine and sipping it slowly, pondering how to appease Zong Bingwen—whether they broke up or not was not important, what was important was to coax Zong Bingwen into not telling his parents about his relationship with Shen Ci.

"Have you figured out how to argue with me?" Zong Bingwen stared at Chen Mian for a few seconds, his gaze lingering on the boy's fair and delicate face for a moment before looking away. "Chen Mian, this isn't the first time you've done that with Shen Ci, is it?"

He couldn't maintain his composure in the end and asked resentfully, "Shen Ci told me that you don't like me at all, and that you're only with me because you think we're a good match, is that true?"

Shen Mian was startled. He had never said such a thing to Shen Ci, yet the other party had told it to Zong Bingwen.

He's such a troublemaker!

For the first time, Chen Mian had to clean up the mess left by Chen Ci.

He rolled his eyes and immediately denied it, saying, "How could that be? With Shen Ci... it was my fault, but how could you listen to his nonsense? Don't you feel my affection for you when you're with me?"

Zong Bingwen didn't feel much. He was about to deny it, but when he looked up and met Shen Mian's sad and weak eyes, he stopped himself from saying anything.

“Very little, very little.” Zong Bingwen changed his words and said coldly, “You care more about the little bread than I do.”

Shenmian glared at him angrily, as if she felt that her feelings had been betrayed. But little did he know that people in love are inherently greedy, and Shenmian's meager love could not fill Zong Bingwen's heart.

"You're talking nonsense! I've been so good to you! I even took you back to meet my parents, how could you think like that!" Chenmian couldn't help but drop her pitiful facade and reveal her true nature.

Zong Bingwen didn't want to argue with Shen Mian about these things. Since they got together, he had always been the one to accommodate and tolerate Shen Mian, but Shen Mian hadn't improved at all. Even though she was sick, she still stubbornly refused to take her medicine and insisted that he come to see her.

If he weren't Zong Bingwen, would any man with backbone and spirit have come to see Chenmian?

But he just wouldn't learn his lesson and came back anyway.

Before he arrived, the nurses put gauze on his face to cover the wound, afraid that Chenmian would think he was disfigured.

How can there be such a despicable person?

Zong Bingwen despised Shen Ci, and even more so, he despised himself.

Unable to argue with him, and already in the wrong, Chenmian could only lower her head and cry again: "I've given you everything, and you still think I'm not good enough to you? What do you want? Zong Bingwen, you don't really care whether I cheated on you or not, do you? You've already slept with me, and once you've got me, you don't care anymore, right? Saying I cheated is just an excuse you use to break up with me!"

The more he talked, the more reasonable he felt, completely unaware of the man's surging anger at his twisted logic.

Zong Bingwen took a deep breath, barely managing to suppress the bulging veins on his arm, and said, "Chenmian, what kind of person do you take me for? A beast? Is that how you see me?"

"Good, good, good!" he said several times, seemingly furious.

A note from the author:

Shen Jinshan won't always be the end of the story, but a gentle, stomach-soothing seme (dominant male lead) is quite flavorful.
