Chapter 6 Chapter 6 Rub My Back
After returning home, Miao Ying entered the room. Huo Xing didn't know where he went. He raised his hand and touched his head, which was covered with layers of medicinal juice. Then he picked up a strand of hair and smelled it, and almost suffocated himself.
He had been here for four or five days and had not taken a shower or washed his hair. Now he was smelling bad. Daily washing was fine, he could rinse his mouth with salt water and wash his face with a handful of clean water, but there was no way he could wash his hair or take a shower.
After Huo Xing returned to the room, he saw Miao Ying sitting on the bed with a troubled look on his face. When he saw Huo Xing, he seemed to have seen a savior: "Huo Xing, I want to take a shower."
Huo Xing paused for a moment, then said, "It's too cold." He was already injured, and if he caught a cold from bathing, he would be in serious condition, and the time for him to leave would be delayed again.
"Then how do you take a bath?" Miao Yingcai didn't believe that they didn't take a bath for the whole winter.
"I'm washing in the river." Huo Xing walked to the bedside in the moonlight, "You can't."
Miao Ying looked at him with a pleading look in his eyes: "Can you boil some hot water? I can't wash, but can you wipe my body?"
Huo Xing sighed almost inaudibly, then walked out of the room and went to the kitchen. Miao Ying thanked him, then sat on the bed waiting for him to come back with hot water.
After a while, he heard some noise outside the house. It was Huo San who came back drunk. Seeing the fire still on in the kitchen, he started to act crazy again and made a lot of noise. Especially when he saw the chicken in the cupboard, he became even more out of control.
He was the only one making the noise, Huo Xing didn't say anything. Miao Ying stood up and leaned towards the window, and heard Huo San cursing more and more harshly, mentioning Miao Ying's name in his words.
Miao Ying pushed open the door and was about to retort when Huo Xing knocked Huo San unconscious with a single blow. It looked like he did this often. Li Hongying then also left the room, and Huo Xing carried him back to the room.
Afterwards, Huo Xing brought hot water back to the room in a basin. Since Miao Ying couldn't take off all his clothes and soak in the water, he could only wipe his body with a handkerchief. He quickly took off his clothes and soon he was naked.
He waved to Huo Xing: "Help me." The basin of water was on the ground. Miao Ying took off all his clothes and felt cold. Now he was wrapped in a quilt, so he could only ask Huo Xing to wet his handkerchief for him.
Miao Ying found that the body was very white, so white that it almost reflected light. In Miao Ying's eyes, the body was like a boiled chicken, without any masculinity at all. He felt a little disgusted.
Taking the handkerchief handed to him by Huo Xing, Miao Ying quickly wiped his neck, chest, abdomen and stomach, then handed the handkerchief back and wiped it a second time. When it came to his back, it became a little inconvenient, as the wound would hurt if he kept holding his hand for too long.
So he could only lie on the bed and ask Huo Xing for help: "Can you help me wipe my back?"
He waited for a long time but saw no movement from Huo Xing. He turned his head to look and saw Huo Xing standing there with his eyes closed, not moving. "Hurry up, it's so cold."
Seeing him so calm, Huo Xing frowned, then wrung the handkerchief for him again, sat down beside the bed, and wiped his back, trying very hard not to touch Miao Ying.
Miao Ying's body was crystal white. Huo Xing had never seen any delicate porcelain, so he couldn't make such a description. He just felt that Miao Ying at this moment was like a piece of fine silk, flowing slowly in the moonlight.
He was just too thin. After a trip to the gates of hell, he looked pale and thin, and his waist seemed to be no bigger than his palm.
After Huo Xing finished wiping him, Miao Ying quickly huddled under the quilt. Fortunately, he had just been smart enough to put his undershirt under the quilt, so he wouldn't be frozen to the bone. He quickly put on his clothes, sat down on the edge of the bed, and soaked his feet in the still warm water.
Huo Xing just stood in the room, like a wooden stake.
After he finished soaking his feet, he felt his whole body warm. He quickly dried his feet and got into bed to lie on his side.
Huo Xing packed up the basin and returned to the room in silence.
I don’t know if it was a psychological reason, but Miao Ying felt much better after taking the medicine. He didn’t fall asleep as soon as he lay down. When Huo Xing returned to the room, he moved to the inside of the bed, leaving a large space for Huo Xing.
Usually when Huo Xing went to bed, Miao Ying was either fainted or asleep. This was the first time that both of them were lying in bed awake.
Huo Xing was very tall, and the two of them shared a blanket. After Huo Xing lay down, the blanket began to bleed. Miao Ying shivered and moved closer to Huo Xing: "It's so cold."
The quilt was really thin, and Miao Ying unconsciously leaned towards the heat source. The closer he got, the stiffer Huo Xing's body became. Miao Ying was completely unaware of this and just sighed comfortably before falling asleep in a short while.
Huo Xing finally breathed a sigh of relief when he noticed his breathing becoming longer and longer. He turned his head to the side and Miao Ying rested her head on his arm, with her legs moving closer to him, as if she was very cold.
He couldn't express his current feelings. Did Miao Ying not care, or was it the same as before...
Huo Xing stayed awake until dawn. When it was almost daybreak, he finally closed his eyes. Just as he was about to fall asleep, Miao Ying put one of his legs on him again.
Carefully putting Miao Ying's legs down, Huo Xing put on his clothes and got up. He planned to go to the county town today. Every year at this time he would go to the county town to work so that he could earn money for the New Year and make clothes for the elders in his family and have a sumptuous New Year's Eve dinner.
This year, there is one more person in the family. The Chinese New Year is approaching, and Miao Ying’s injury has not healed yet, so he should spend the New Year at home.
As soon as he walked out of the room, Li Hongying got up and went into the kitchen to boil water. After a while, Miao Ying also got up. He saw Huo Xing washing his face in the same basin he had used to soak his feet last night.
Seeing Miao Ying get up, he handed the medicine he had just prepared to Miao Ying. Miao Ying took it and drank it. After drinking it, he walked around in the yard. After a while, he saw his grandmother and Huo Xiaobao get up.
The whole family got up to greet the rising sun and started a busy day in winter.
Grandma got up early and started doing needlework, Li Hongying went to weed in the wheat field, Huo San was probably still dizzy, and Miao Ying only found out at the dinner table that Huo Xing was going on a long trip. He was stunned for a moment, then nodded.
Huo Xiaobao is a child, so of course he is carefree.
Miao Ying followed Huo Xing into the room again, asking many questions: "Going to the county town to work? What kind of work? Physical labor? Can I go with you?"
"When will you be back? What if Grandma and Mom kick me out when you're not home?"
"How much money can I make? Can you find me a job?"
Huo Xing glanced at the wound on his head which was still not healing well: "You can't do heavy work, just heal your wound first."
The desire to work was ingrained in Miao Ying's DNA. There was no reason why he couldn't go work when everyone else was. He asked Huo Xing, "What can I do to make some money?"
Huo Xing thought for a moment and said, "Ordinary men usually do some needlework, or wash clothes. Otherwise, if they have some kind of skill, they can set up a stall with their husbands and cook."
Miao Ying looked at his hands. He thought his cooking skills were pretty good, but as the saying goes, a good cook cannot cook without rice. He had the skills but was helpless.
"When I get better, let's go set up a stall, right?" Miao Ying stayed by his side. "You've seen that I'm a very good cook. Let's set up a stall in town. We're sure to make some money."
Huo Xing said nothing as he packed his clothes: "Let's talk when you get better."
Miao Ying took Huo Xiaobao and sent Huo Xing to the main intersection. Huo Xiaobao stood obediently beside his legs. Huo Xing rubbed Huo Xiaobao's head, nodded to Miao Ying, and strode forward.
Miao Ying walked back with Huo Xiaobao. Many people looked at him along the way. Perhaps it was because Miao Ying's reputation in the village was too bad in the past, and now people looked at him with mockery in their eyes.
He didn't care about other people's eyes. Since he occupied the original owner's body, he naturally had to accept everything.
The most urgent thing is to make money. Huo Xing has gone out to make money. Does he have to wait at home for Huo Xing to support him? The Working Emperor will never allow it.
He was puzzled for a moment, wondering how other people made money by traveling through time. He couldn't remember for a moment, and blamed it on the fact that he had too little free time in the past and had no time to read novels.
When she returned home, her grandmother was leaning against the door doing needlework. Miao Ying leaned over to take a look and saw that she was embroidering a handkerchief with a bunch of orchids on it, which was fresh and elegant.
"Grandma, how many days will it take you to embroider a handkerchief like this?" He came closer to his grandmother.
Grandma obviously didn't want to pay attention to him, but seeing his eyes, which were much clearer than before, she replied, "Two or three days."
"How much can a handkerchief like this sell for?"
Seeing that he was really after money, the grandmother's face instantly fell: "Isn't that money enough for you?"
Miao Ying choked for a moment. This was the downside of having a criminal record. He smiled and said, "No, I have some novel designs. Can they be sold at a higher price?"
Grandmother looked at him suspiciously: "What's going on?"
Miao Ying had no choice but to pick up an unburned stick from the stove door as there was no paper or pen at home. He drew a few strokes on the ground. After just a few strokes, a cat-like creature that was not a cat was drawn.
"Look, isn't this kind of embroidery simpler than your usual floral embroidery?" Miao Ying threw away the firewood in his hand. "This is novel, and the price can be higher than before."
Huo Xiaobao also ran over at this moment, pointing at the painting on the ground and saying that the cat was cute.
Miao Ying looked at his grandmother with wide eyes. His grandmother nodded reluctantly, "It's a very good painting."
Miao Ying smiled and said, "Then I'll help you draw the pattern?"
Grandmother didn't say anything. Miao Ying had already washed his hands. After washing, he wiped his hands on his clothes, and then found grandmother's needlework tools in the sewing basket. Grandmother didn't say anything, and handed him a plain white handkerchief.
Miao Ying immersed himself in painting. He loved painting since he was a child, but had no conditions to learn it. After entering university, there was a painting club in the university, and he immersed himself in studying in the club. Now he thinks it is not useless.
Soon a picture was drawn. It was a cat. It looked a little strange, with a big head and small limbs, but it was really cute.
Although grandma didn't say it, Miao Ying could tell from her expression that she actually liked it very much.
"Grandma, how about this? I think it will look great when embroidered."
The grandmother wanted to praise him, but then she remembered what he had done in the past, so she forced herself to hold it back, which made her expression look strange.
Miao Ying didn't care and laughed out loud.
