Chapter 72: The pleasure of stepping on Xuan Ming

Chen Cimei and Huo Xun will lead the team and escort the potion to the border in three days.

This was the first time Huo Xun led such an important mission. He attached great importance to it and spent the entire day conducting exercises in the military district.

Qi Heng was depressed for two days and stayed in the house without eating.

The early morning sunlight shines through the huge floor-to-ceiling windows in the living room, filling the entire house and making it look warm.

"Eat something. Why are you looking so sad? What happened is over. There's no need to talk about it again."

Chen Yin handed the porridge in her hand to him, glanced at his blue eyelids, and saw his fatigue. She couldn't help but sigh in her heart.

People with different ideals cannot work together. Qi Heng is really a troublesome thing to have around, and the system is a troublemaker, insisting that she sleep with him. Unless the reward is an A-level potion, Chen Yin will not do such a heartless thing.

Acting every day is very tiring. She feels tired just looking at Qi Heng, but she has to continue acting with her.

Qi Heng looked up absentmindedly at Chen Yin's gentle and beautiful face. Her skin was flawless, like the finest white jade, warm and smooth.

Qi Heng twitched the corners of his mouth. At this point, he had failed miserably as a spy. Chen Yin didn't want to expose him, and he didn't have the energy to continue acting.

There were so many loopholes, starting with the fact that the potion was fake, his identity was doomed to be exposed.

The usually coquettish man was surprisingly silent. Gu Xingmang and Huo Xun looked at each other, sighed and shook their heads, feeling helpless.

Qi Heng, with his eyelashes drooping, looked at the chopsticks handed to him, glanced at Gu Xingmang lightly, feeling a subtle mood.

"That's not like you. Let's eat. The potion incident is over. His Highness has already made plans. There's no point in you trying to sabotage it."

Gu Xingmang was both amused and annoyed. He put down his chopsticks and moved towards Huo Xun. "But our Major Huo really has a heavy responsibility this time. The escort of the potion is of great importance. Shen Cimei is unreliable. You must be careful. What if the potion is lost?"

He shook his head. Thinking of that scene, his whole body went numb. He picked up a spoon and drank some hot porridge to warm his stomach.

Not everyone can be an officer. Working for the group, although there are many things to do, big and small, you don't have to work too hard.

Huo Xun remained silent, his military uniform straight and his brows firm, like an unsheathed sword.

“It’s an honor to be a part of something like this.”

What Huo Xun strives to do is to achieve success, bring honor to his mother and Shen Yin, and realize his ideals and ambitions.

Of course Gu Xingmang and Qi Heng couldn't understand.

Qi Heng drank his porridge slowly, then glanced at Huo Xun with his spoon in hand. He said nonchalantly, "Let me remind you that it's best for you and Shen Cimei to act separately. Each of you should take 500 pharmacists and set off in two directions. Otherwise, if something goes wrong, the losses will be heavy."

"Given her personality, if she breaks off relations with His Highness now, she'll inevitably use her power to bully you. It's better to avoid any setbacks that can be avoided. Major Huo should understand this and be able to do it."

His voice was light and he wasn't worried that Huo Xun wouldn't hear him.

Anyway, after going through all this, he didn't expect Huo Xun to listen to him.

Her fair and slender hands held the soup spoon, stirring the hot porridge, her eyes were dark and unclear, with a hint of sarcasm.

Huo Xun frowned and fell into deep thought. "You make sense. I'll think about it."

Seeing that he accepted it, Qi Heng's eyes deepened, he curled his lips into a smile, lowered his head to drink his porridge, with self-mockery in his eyes. When his gaze passed over Chen Yin, he breathed a sigh of relief uncontrollably.

"Listen to Qi Heng. Split up the troops and don't get entangled with her. If there are any obstacles, tell me and I will personally plead with the Queen Mother."

Chen Yin's eyes moved, and it was unknown what she was thinking about. The corner of her mouth raised, she glanced at Huo Xun and nodded.

It was surprising enough that Huo Xun was willing to accept Qi Heng, but Chen Yin did not hesitate and even supported him.

After a pause, Huo Xun nodded: "Your Highness, don't worry, this matter will be handled well. After yesterday's potion incident, you are now very popular. Those people will not make things difficult for me."

There is a seventh-rank official in front of the prime minister's door.

Gu Xingmang said nothing, just kept his head down to eat. Occasionally he looked up at the three people chattering, each one more serious than the other. One could tell from their eyes how many thoughts were on their minds.

He shook his head and didn't get involved.

After dinner, Huo Xun left home and Gu Xingmang went to do his own thing.

"Ayin, Ayin!"

Outside the door, Xuan Ming appeared with a panicked look. He was always cold and noble, but now he was rarely panicked. He looked tired, as if he had not slept all night. He rushed into the restaurant with unsteady steps, looked at Chen Yin with a depressed mood, and glanced at Qi Heng.

Qi Heng had no choice but to put down his bowl and chopsticks and stand up.

"Just say whatever you want to say. Qi Heng is one of us, there's no need to avoid him."

Chen Yin leaned back in her chair while the robot cleaned up the leftovers. She stretched out her long legs, placed them on the dining table, crossed her arms, and didn't even look at Xuan Ming beside her.

Seeing her like this, Xuan Ming felt extremely angry.

People who grew up in slums are not presentable. They become arrogant if they achieve a little success. They don't know how to remain calm in the face of praise or criticism, and they are like vulgar nouveau riche.

This is also what Xuan Ming, who comes from a scholarly family, hates the most.

But he had to ask Chen Yin for something, so he had to pretend to be nice. He pulled Chen Yin's wrist and said gently, "Ayin, everything that happened before was my fault. I, as a father, ignored your feelings. I'm sorry, child. No matter what you want, as long as I can do it, I will agree to it."

Chen Yin sneered, pulled his hand back, and shook his legs on the dining table, disapproving.

He doesn't care how arrogant he looks, nor does he care about the consequences of climbing high and falling hard.

I work like a horse in the lab every day, doing the work of ten people for ten consecutive days. Isn't it all for this moment?

If the purpose of hard work is not to make money and to be proud, then it will be meaningless to Chen Yin.

"Look at what you're saying, Dad. It's as if you could give me your life if I asked for it. What were you doing before? Why didn't you look like this when I just came back? Why didn't you show up when I was in trouble in the Peony Palace yesterday? Your child died and you're still breastfeeding! How ridiculous!"

Chen Yin's mouth was like poison. Since she met Xuan Ming, she never gave him a good look.

She had seen many top-notch people, but a father like Xuan Ming was like a knife stabbing her butt and opening her eyes.

The empress was in a high position and had great power, so Chen Yin had to bear it with a pinch of her nose. She would lick when she should and pretend when she should. What kind of person was Xuan Ming? He acted foolishly in front of her.

Qi Heng was stunned, staring blankly at Chen Yin, the host, who was sitting with her legs crossed on the dining table, looking contented. He tried to put himself in her shoes, but couldn't imagine how happy she must be.

When I realized what was happening, I was at a loss whether to laugh or cry. She really was just as unconventional as ever.

If it were any other male or female, they would probably be soft-hearted in order to get the father's love that they had lost for many years. Even the strongest people always have a hint of expectation in their hearts in front of their parents. But looking at Chen Yin's expression, there was no expectation at all, she was just happy to have Xuan Ming under her feet.

Xuan Ming's face was stiff, his breathing was rapid, and he couldn't stand steadily for a while.

"Chen Yin, do you really have to do this? What good will it do you to be alone?"
