Chapter 158: Guardianship

Lan Xi's wound healed well. Bai Yun watched her every day while she changed the dressing and ate, not letting her touch a cigarette or drink a sip of wine.

One day, Lan Xi came out of her room, holding a glass of water and walking towards the living room. Bai Yun stopped her and looked her up and down: "You... smoked?"

"No!" Lan Xi answered her question in a confused manner, then drank a sip of water calmly.

Bai Yun stretched out her hand and said gloomily, "Take it out!"

Finally, a newly opened box of cigarettes was found in the coat at the entrance. Bai Yun was very angry and scolded Lan Xi in the living room for half an hour without repeating herself.

It was the first time that Lan Xi stood like a quail while listening to a lecture. When Cheng Chiyan came out of the second bedroom, he saw this scene and thought he had traveled through time!

As he passed by the living room, he gave a thumbs up with an expression of admiration.

Lan Xi didn't know how to describe this feeling. She couldn't really hear Bai Yun's voice or the content of her words clearly. It felt like she was in a fuzzy state from a long distance. She felt that the woman in front of her was opening and closing her mouth, looking at her with a look of disappointment and muttering.

Bai Yun always felt that Lan Xi was absent-minded. She seemed to be obedient with her head down, but...

She reached out her hand, tapped the coffee table, and said in a crisp voice, "What are you daydreaming about? I've been talking for a long time, are you listening?"

"Ah? I heard it!" Lan Xi came back to his senses, raised his head and said blankly.

Bai Yun gnashed her teeth in anger, but helplessly held her forehead: "Alright, alright, go play somewhere else!"

Lan Xi was a little at a loss. She had never seen such a situation before. It seemed like Bai Yun was angry but also helpless and indulgent. She didn't know whether Bai Yun was angry or not, so when she heard this, she didn't dare to leave.

Seeing Lan Xi hesitate to move, Bai Yun thought she had something else to say: "What's wrong? What do you want to say?"

"Nothing! I want to eat fruit!" Lan Xi saw Bai Yun looking at her, tightened her crossed fingers behind her, and answered in a panicked voice.

Looking at Lan Xi strangely, Bai Yun stood up, said "wait", and went to the kitchen to get some fruit.

Lan Xi took a deep breath and sat down on the sofa. The wounds on her body had already scabbed over. She didn't feel anything when she moved slightly, but it felt a little itchy when she sat down.

These past two days, after Zhu Lingling came back, she would wipe her back with a towel. Lan Xi felt like she was about to stink!

What a hassle!

Lan Ting'an is in more trouble. The wounds on his body have not scabbed over yet, and there are even signs of suppuration and inflammation. He is also starting to become irritable.

Of course, one of the things that made him angry was that the old man left him at home to recuperate and sent someone to the villa he and his mistress lived in to take care of the pregnant girl.

When Huang Qingqing woke up in the morning, she saw a crowd of people in her house. She panicked and took two steps back, holding her stomach. She wanted to secretly return to her room to call Lan Ting'an, but she was seen by her mother who was in charge of this matter.

Disgust flashed in her eyes. The grandmother in charge of this matter secretly thought that she was unlucky. She folded her hands and called out loudly, "Miss Huang!"

Huang Qingqing paused. She didn't want to turn around. She was afraid of these people and she wanted to protect the baby in her belly.

Grandma looked at her stiff body that didn't dare to turn around, and winked at the young maid next to her. The two maids immediately came forward and helped her down from the stairs.

Huang Qingqing couldn't help but want to struggle. Grandma saw this and frowned even more tightly: "Miss Huang, please don't move around. Don't hurt the baby in your belly."

Huang Qingqing felt her arms were pinched so hard that tears couldn't help but flow from her eyes, but she really didn't dare to move. She murmured softly, "Let me go, I'll walk by myself!"

After hearing this, the two maids looked at grandma at the same time and asked for her opinion.

Grandma clicked her tongue impatiently, waved her hand and walked to sit at the coffee table in the living room. Looking at Huang moving over shyly, she felt more and more that she was very petty!

Rubbing his hands, Huang Qingqing stood in front of the stern-looking old lady, forgetting that this was the house Lan Tingan bought for him.

"Ms. Huang, from today on, I will be responsible for your food, daily life, and all prenatal checkups! You can call me Grandma!"

Grandma's voice was loud and full of momentum. While she spoke, she looked Huang Qingqing up and down.

This was something Huang Qingqing had not expected. She had already prepared herself for them to drag her to the hospital for an abortion, but she ended up hearing such words.

"Miss Huang, do you have any questions?" Grandma saw that she was still a little dazed in shock, and thought to herself, isn't she stupid?

Huang Qingqing was brought back to her senses by her grandmother's resonant voice. She couldn't help but tremble a little and stammered, "Then...what about Ting'an?"

"That's not something Miss Huang should worry about. What you need to do now is to take good care of your baby. Other things have nothing to do with you!"

Grandma answered her question swiftly, stood up, straightened her loose dark dress, and walked lightly around Huang, giving her goose bumps.

"Ms. Huang, I'll make a table. You need to follow the timetable every day. After each monthly prenatal checkup, I'll modify the table based on your actual situation. Do you understand?"

Huang Qingqing nodded repeatedly without daring to breathe, her hands clutching her skirt, her palms full of sweat from nervousness.

Grandma nodded in satisfaction and glanced around the villa: "Miss Huang, please sit down for a while! The doctor will be here soon to check you out!"

"I...just had a check-up last week, is it..." Huang Qingqing's heart skipped a beat and she spoke cautiously to her grandma. She was frightened by her grandma's glare and took a step back and quickly shut her mouth.

Grandma frowned in dissatisfaction. She walked up to Huang Qingqing, lifted her chin, and said very slowly, "Miss Huang, I was sent by the master to look after your daily life. I have the final say in everything! Do you understand?"
