In the second half of the night, Lan Xi's temperature became higher and higher, and Cheng Chiyan's constant changing of ice packs was of no use.
At 4 a.m., the doorbell rang and the family doctor arranged by Zhu Lingling arrived.
"Her temperature is now approaching 40 degrees Celsius. Ms. Zhu said Ms. Lan has something important to do tomorrow, so an IV would be safer!"
The doctor said to Cheng Chiyan after the examination.
Cheng Chiyan nodded and cooperated with the doctor to give Lan Xi an IV drip. The doctor roughly told him how long the drip would last.
Just in case, he didn't leave and went to the second bedroom to rest.
Lan Xi's brows were furrowed tightly, and she was mumbling something incoherently. Cheng Chiyan leaned over to listen twice but couldn't hear clearly.

She was walking upstairs. She was 16 years old and was about to take the college entrance examination. Her scores in the 3 mock tests ranked first in the province!

Li Yulan looked at Lan Xi's figure without saying anything.
Lan Ting'an hasn't been home for a long time. Li Yulan closed her eyes. She had just returned from the hospital and dealt with another pregnant mistress.
When she opened her eyes, Li Yulan's eyes were dead. She stood up and walked upstairs.
"Ma'am, aren't you going to eat?"
The nanny beside her looked worried. She was an old lady and knew that her mistress was not at home last night.
Li Yulan waved her hand and said nothing.
Standing in a corner where no one could see her, Lan Xi looked down at the scene unfolding in the lobby on the first floor. She then looked down at her report card, huddled together, and threw it aside.
As the sky gradually brightened, Lan Xi's cell phone rang. Cheng Chiyan was sitting on the floor beside Lan Xi's bed and was awakened by the ringing.
Just as he was about to reach out to turn it off, Cheng Chiyan saw Lan Xi open her eyes!
The ceiling came into view, and she felt a little blurry and a stinging pain on the back of her left hand.
The cell phone ringtone was turned off. Lan Xi looked in the direction of the phone and saw Cheng Chiyan sitting on the ground.
Lan Xi's eyes moved slightly, and she asked, "What...are you doing?"
The voice was hoarse and the pronunciation was a little unclear. Lan Xi was stunned for a moment, stretched out his right hand from the quilt and touched his neck.
"You almost had a burn last night. I contacted Zhu Lingling and asked a doctor to come and give you an IV!" Cheng Chiyan stood up and reached out to help Lan Xi sit up.
Lan Xi slapped his hand away, sat up and leaned against the headboard.
Cheng Chiyan had long been accustomed to Lan Xi's behavior and handed her the warm water on the bedside table:
"Aunt Bai is here. I asked her to cook a light breakfast for you! Drink some water first!"
After drinking two sips of water, Lan Xi threw off the quilt and got out of bed. The high fever from the previous night made her legs weak and she almost fell to the ground.
Cheng Chiyan subconsciously reached out to help, but Lan Xi would rather hold on to the edge of the bed and stand firm than have any physical contact with him.
Feeling dizzy and heavy, Lan Xi walked towards the bathroom. She was sweating all over due to the fever. Although Cheng Chiyan tried to stop her, she still took a shower.
I don’t know if it’s because of the shower, but Lan Xi felt much better, at least she felt a lot lighter.
Lan Xi went into the cloakroom alone and didn't come out until an hour later.
In the meantime, Cheng Chiyan was worried and kept knocking on the door from time to time, fearing that Lan Xi had fainted inside.
In the end, Lan Xi changed her clothes and opened the door to the locker room: "If you keep knocking on the door, get out!"
Her face was full of irritability and anger, and she stared at Cheng Chiyan sinisterly, making him shudder.
Lan Xi lazily put on some makeup in front of the mirror, put on her jewelry, and left the bedroom.
Bai Yun had just put breakfast on the table when she saw Lan Xi come out. Although she had put on makeup, her face still looked a little unwell. She frowned:
"What's wrong with you today? You're already so sick, what's more important than your health?"
Lan Xi sat down at the dining table, picking at the milk porridge in front of her, and said slowly: "Today is the shareholders' meeting, electing an executive director!"

Cheng Chiyan didn't hear the conversation between the two. He packed up and came out of the second bedroom, sitting next to Lan Xi:
"Your company doesn't have a holiday on New Year's Day?"
Lan Xi looked up at him, then lowered her head indifferently.
“Holidays are usually given to employees, and the boss basically has no days off all year round!”
Bai Yun knew that Lan Xi was sick and in a bad mood, so she spoke up to explain for her.
Cheng Chiyan nodded in sudden realization and lowered his head to eat breakfast.
"You are leaving soon. Do you want me to take you there?" Bai Yun looked at Lan Xi!
"No, I'll go by myself. You're not suitable!" Lan Xi swallowed the porridge and shook her head to refuse.
Bai Yun disagreed and said, "How can you drive when you are still sick?"
Lan Xi glanced at her and said calmly, "I suggest you don't go. There are many acquaintances here today!"
Bai Yun closed her mouth and thought for a moment: "Why don't you call a designated driver? I'm really not fit to drive in this state!"
"Then let me open it!" Qin Xiangnan came in at some point, heard the conversation between the three people, and continued the conversation.
Bai Yun turned around and saw the girl who had told her the precautions last time.
"Have you eaten? There's still food in the kitchen!" Bai Yun asked her.
Qin Xiangnan shook his head and walked towards the dining table: "I haven't eaten yet. I just finished two documents downstairs."
"What document?" Lan Xi put down the spoon and raised her head.
