Chapter 6 Nightmare

2am, top floor:

Zhu Lingling opened the combination lock, Lan Xi leaned against the wall behind her, the door opened, and the light in the entrance came on.

"Are you sure you've asked someone to take care of it?" Lan Xi didn't move, but looked at Zhu Lingling warily.

Zhu Lingling nodded: "I've cleaned it up and changed everything!"

After hearing her repeated assurances, Lan Xi stood up and walked in. She kicked off her high heels, changed into slippers, took off her coat as she walked, and threw it to Zhu Lingling behind her.

She walked slowly to the living room. Sensing someone entering, a small light came on in the living room. Lan Xi looked at the large floor-to-ceiling window next to her and slowly walked over.

"It's snowing!" As she approached, a snowflake floated into her sight, spinning and dancing in the air, and then slowly fell down.

Pointing his finger at the window, Lan Xi saw that among the snowflakes flying all over the sky, another snowflake stopped briefly in front of him, so crystal clear that it seemed to be glowing.

After drinking, Lan Xi was like a sleepy fox, with hazy eyes and the sharp thorns on her body that could explode at any time replaced by soft fur, making people want to touch it.

"Miss, you have been drinking. Why don't you take the medicine today?" Zhu Lingling said to Lan Xi with a little concern while holding the medicine bottle.

Lan Xi's eyes cleared up. She lowered her eyes to look at the distant street, which had already begun to turn silvery white. She watched as each snowflake fluttered around like a fairy, some even clustered in groups of three or two...

He turned and walked over to Zhu Lingling, took the medicine bottle away, and without even glancing at her, he walked to the coffee table without stopping, picked up the thermos kettle and poured himself a glass of water.

"If you're really worried about me, give me less of the stuff you gave me yesterday!"

Lan Xi poured four pills into her palm, hesitated for a moment, picked up two and threw them back into the bottle, put the rest into her mouth, drank water and swallowed them.

Zhu Lingling stood aside and watched Lan Xi pour out 4 tablets. She was so shocked that she almost screamed. Such a large dose would cause trouble!

"It's time to sleep. Don't stand here. Clean up and go to bed! Don't call me tomorrow. Something big must be waiting for me to get up!" Lan Xi put down the water cup and walked towards the bedroom.

Zhu Lingling wanted to come up and help Lan Xi back to the bedroom. When her hand was about to touch her arm, she heard Lan Xi's fierce cry, "Don't touch me!"

She stopped and looked sideways at Zhu Lingling. Her cold face contained an almost sinister look, which successfully froze Zhu Lingling in place.

Zhu Lingling didn't move a step until Lan Xi's bedroom door closed. She watched her leave, her eyes filled with deep heartache and confusion: "What should I do!"

When she opened her eyes, she was surrounded by darkness. Lan Xi, who was usually calm, suddenly became panicked. She reached out to touch the night light that was always on on the bedside table, but ended up touching a cold wall.

At the same time, a voice rang in my ears: "Lan Xi, if you do something wrong, you must accept the punishment. Face the wall and reflect on your mistakes!"

The sound made her tremble subconsciously. Lan Xi instantly shrank into the corner, covered her ears with her hands, and closed her eyes tightly.

This is a dream, this is a dream! Lan Xi!

Just relax a little, it will be over soon, it will be over soon!

"If you can't reflect on your situation, then don't come out. I've already asked for leave from school. If your grades aren't good, then don't go to school!"

The voice appeared again, cold and indifferent, as if someone was looking down on Lan Xi, as if looking at a helpless and struggling little pet.

Fine beads of sweat appeared on her forehead, and the palms of her hands covering her ears gradually became moist. Lan Xi found that no matter how hard she covered her ears, the sound could still penetrate into her ears like a ghost.

The pitch-black environment made her so nervous that she felt like vomiting, and her breathing gradually became difficult.

"Huff...Huff...Huff..." The breathing sounds filled the empty room, and Lan Xi felt someone was strangling her neck.

There was silence all around, and Lan Xi felt her sanity gradually fading away: "Is anyone there? Is anyone there?"

She groped, moving slowly against the wall. After just a few moves, her hands and feet began to weaken. "Is there anyone here? Let me out! Someone... let me out!"

Lan Xi's voice became smaller and smaller, and her discomfort became worse. She had no choice but to curl up against the wall, occasionally unable to hold back a dry heave.

There seemed to be a noise outside the door, and someone appeared there:

"How could you actually sleep? How dare you sleep? Lan Xi, I worked so hard to raise you, why are you so disappointing? Aren't you heartbroken by what your father did to me? You have no heart! You have no heart!"

Lan Xi reluctantly raised her head and slowly stretched out her hand: "I was wrong, I was really wrong, please let me out, please! Mom! I was wrong!"

Tears streamed down her face. Lan Xi was driven mad by the darkness. She endured the discomfort and stood up. She rushed to the door based on her memory and kept clapping:

"I was wrong! Can you please let me out? I will study hard and work hard, you..."

She knelt down by the door, banged on it and shouted at the top of her lungs:

"Don't do this to me. I already know I'm wrong. What else do you want me to do? I beg you, I'm scared, I'm really scared, Mom! Let me out!"

"You know you're wrong? Then stay in there and I'll let you out when I calm down!"

The voice outside the door sounded proud, and she seemed to be holding a key in her hand, making a jingling sound.

Lan Xi was desperate. Even though she knew she was in a dream, she still felt desperate. Such a scene made her feel uncomfortable, as if it was engraved in her bones.

She didn't know how long it had been before she heard the sound of a key opening the door. She sat up from the ground and backed away with her hands and feet in fear.

The door opened, a beam of light streamed in, and a short boy stood at the door, holding out his hand to her:
