Chapter 89 New Year Greetings

Lan Xi came out with her cell phone and returned to the bedroom. Inside was a 60-second voice message from shareholder Zhao.

She knew he was scolding her without even listening. Lan Xi didn't reply, but turned off the screen and turned on the computer.

Those three people are so annoying. If I don’t leave quickly, do I have to listen to them chatting non-stop?

The phone kept vibrating, so Lan Xi turned it to Do Not Disturb. Lan Tingxu wanted to investigate quickly...

Lan Xi paused typing at this thought, and a thought that sent chills down her spine emerged in her mind...

After not sleeping all night, Lan Xi was still energetic. She rubbed her neck, took a shower, changed her clothes and opened the door.

It’s snowing!

The snow on the railings was very thick, and the fragrance of pine needles lingered in her nose. Lan Xi took a deep breath, reached out and pinched some snow. Her fingertips felt cool, and she watched it melt and drip in an instant.

Lan Xi placed her entire palm on the snow, watching her fingertips turn red and begin to go numb, but the corners of her mouth turned up.

"Little Miss, don't be greedy for coolness!"

Someone spoke downstairs, and Lan Xi leaned out to see. The housekeeper was holding an umbrella and looking up at her. He was wearing a long velvet gown embroidered with cloud patterns, and looked very noble.

Lan Xi withdrew her hand, went back to her room to get her handbag, and came out from the side stairs. Zhu Lingling had already arrived and was standing at the stairs holding an umbrella, looking at her.

Lan Xi wore a red jacket today, which was rare. It revealed a black imitation horse-face skirt with a phoenix spreading its wings embroidered with gold thread, and various patterns embroidered on the hem.

Her long hair was tied up, her fox eyes were smiling, and her red jacket made her look much cuter than usual. Her shallow eyes looked at her with the innocence of a child.

Standing under the umbrella, Lan Xi took out a red envelope from her bag and handed it to Zhu Lingling.

"Miss..." Zhu Lingling tried to refuse, but Lan Xi stuffed it directly into her hands.

"I don't want to be cold with you on this festive day!"

Lan Xi's gaze fell on Huahua and the other little boy not far away, and her voice was very low.

Zhu Lingling frowned and put the money in her pocket. Lan Xi waved at Hua Hua, "Hua Hua!"

"aunt!"

Huahua ran over with her brothers and sisters. Today she was wearing a pink jacket and skirt, and her hair was combed into a bun by her grandma.

The children around her looked at Lan Xi shyly. They were not as brave as Huahua, and the adults in the family often warned Lan Xi about her status in the Lan family.

Lan Xi nodded at the people and took out a red envelope from her bag: "Here, one for each person! No grabbing!"

Huahua took a stack of red envelopes and distributed them to everyone like a little adult, and then the group went to play somewhere else while laughing and joking.

Not far away, the housekeeper was watching them play with a smile, standing under a tree with an umbrella.

Lan Xi walked forward slowly, her feet making a crunching sound as she stepped on the snow.

"Happy New Year!"

The housekeeper looked at Lan Xi in front of him. This Miss Sun, whom he had watched grow up, had grown into a graceful young lady and even had her own place in the Lan family. His tone was full of satisfaction.

He never got married in his life, so he looked at Lan Xi as if she were his own granddaughter.

"Happy New Year! Grandpa!" Lan Xi took out a crimson red envelope from her bag. It was specially prepared for the housekeeper. She saw his sacrifices for the Lan family.

The butler took it without hesitation:

"The gentleman has woken up and is probably in the front hall now. When I came over just now, almost everyone was there."

Lan Xi followed the housekeeper, handed the bag to Zhu Lingling, and turned around to ask:

"What did Qin Xiangnan say?"

"She might not arrive until noon. Bai Yun took Bai Xingtang back to his grandmother's house."

Zhu Lingling continued to wrap and answered Lan Xi's questions.

The three of them came to the front hall, where the younger generations were kowtowing to Lan Xiangfu to wish him a happy new year. Lan Xi walked over to sit next to his grandfather, looking at the elders sitting in the hall.

Lan Xiangfu handed over the red envelope and turned to look at Lan Xi: "I heard that you sent an email to the group's shareholders?"

Lan Xi nodded, looked at the long line behind her, and nodded with a smile:

"Someone has to take care of those who don't obey."

Lan Xiangfu handed out another red envelope, smiled and nodded to the younger generation who received the red envelope, but said to Lan Xi:

"Don't make too much trouble, especially for an old man who has been with the Lan family for many years. Give him some face!"

"knew!"

Although his granddaughter agreed so readily, Lan Xiangfu knew that she would not let these people go so easily. He sighed in his heart and finally said nothing more.

After the New Year greetings were over, Lan Xiangfu turned to Lan Xi and said:

"Come with me to Shi's house this afternoon!"

Hearing this, Zhu Lingling behind Lan Xi showed a thoughtful expression...

At noon, Qin Xiangnan came and Lan Xi introduced her to her grandfather.

Lan Xiangfu looked at Qin Xiangnan, and like everyone else, at just one glance, he thought of Shi Tinghan.

Qin Xiangnan said Happy New Year and looked at the head of the Lan family without saying a word.

She looked up information last night. To be able to move from Kyoto to Hai City and reach the same height as the local Shi family in just 5 years, one can imagine how much courage and means it takes.

"Come here, kid!" Lan Xiangfu waved to Qin Xiangnan and took a red envelope from the housekeeper and handed it over:

"Lan Xi has a bad temper, so please bear with her. She doesn't have many friends. In the past two years, she has only brought Lingling home. Even though she is always cold to Lingling, she really loves her from the bottom of her heart."

Qin Xiangnan took it, glanced at Lan Xi, and said with a smile:

"Thank you, Mr. Lan. It's my blessing to be appreciated by Miss Lan. If it weren't for her, I might not have a job now."

Lan Xi felt amused when she heard Qin Xiangnan talking nonsense. It was hard for her to say such things when she was so cold and aloof.
