Discovering new looms

Discovering new looms

The two drunks were so drunk that they almost bumped into someone but didn't react. The one in front was even a little annoyed because he missed the target.

He tried hard to open his eyes and saw a light-colored figure. He opened his mouth wide and pointed at Qin Yuyao and said, "It's such a long road, why don't you walk properly and block me here?"

As he spoke, he stumbled a few steps and tried to grab Qin Yuyao. However, as soon as he stretched out his hand, Luan Zhengya grabbed it and twisted it ninety degrees.

"Ah!" The drunkard screamed in pain and sobered up. He then saw that it was Luan Zhengya who had attacked him. The murderous look in her cold, frosty face frightened the drunkard so much that he immediately fell to his knees.

His companions behind him wanted to step forward to help, but Jiang He, who heard something was wrong, rushed over and suppressed them.

Luan Zhengya's body radiated a chill that sent a shiver down Jiang He's spine. The drunk man, held in his grip by his backhand, began to beg for mercy, tears streaming down his face in agony.

"Please forgive me, sir. It is my fault that I offended you due to my blindness. Please let me go." The drunk man spoke incoherently and kept crying.

Luan Zhengya remained unmoved and just looked at him coldly: "You should apologize to my wife."

Hearing him speak, the drunk man woke up and blew his nose, trying to see the general direction of Qin Yuyao, but his face was covered with tears.

He could only keep lowering his head towards the blurry angle: "Madam, I'm sorry, I bumped into you, please forgive me."

At the end of his speech, the drunk man seemed to be in great pain and began to sob.

Seeing this, Qin Yuyao reached out and tugged at Luan Zhengya's sleeve. Seeing his stern expression quickly warm up when he looked at her, she couldn't help but whisper, "Zhengya, I'm fine. Let him go. This lesson is enough."

As Qin Yuyao finished speaking, Luan Zhengya kicked the drunk away. Jiang He on the other side also let the man go. The two drunks then thanked her repeatedly and quickly ran away.

Qin Yuyao finally stood up straight and said with a smile, "I'm really fine. He didn't even touch the corner of my clothes just now."

Hearing this, Luan Zhengya glanced around her, confirming that she was not injured before retracting her tightly clenched hand.

There were very few seats on the third floor, but it seemed to have been specially arranged, empty. The only available seat was near the railing.

Looking at the afterglow of the setting sun outside the window, as well as some buildings in Shengjing in the distance, and the mountain scenery outside the city farther away.

Qin Yuyao's eyes lit up when she saw this. She took a few quick steps and leaned out while holding onto the railing.

Seeing her enchanted by the beautiful scenery, Luan Zhengya turned to look at Jiang He, who nodded and quickly went downstairs to the kitchen.

"This small restaurant is really unexpected. It has such a beautiful view. I'm afraid ordinary restaurants can't do that." Qin Yuyao turned her head with a smile and looked at Luan Zhengya.

Looking at the smile on her face, Luan Zhengya couldn't help but soften his eyes and a smile appeared on his face.

"This Ruyi Restaurant was opened by one of my former subordinates. He was my capable subordinate before. Later, he was seriously injured and asked me for help. That's how I opened this restaurant in Shengjing." Luan Zhengya slowly approached and stood behind Qin Yuyao.

"It is said that his family trained him to be a cook, and that he joined the army. Now that he has opened the Ruyi Restaurant, his mother is very happy."

As they were talking, several waiters came up from downstairs like a stream, lining up to place the dishes on the trays in their hands on the table.

Then they quietly and respectfully left the third floor. Before coming up, they had been told by the shopkeeper that these two were great benefactors.

Although Jiang He did not leave the third floor, he stood at the farthest position like a wooden man, pretending that he did not exist.

As if she noticed that the people around her deliberately left space for the two of them, Qin Yuyao turned her head uncomfortably, looking at the scenery and the dishes on the table.

The aroma lingering around her nose made Qin Yuyao linger at the dinner table, and only then did she realize that all the dishes were her favorites.

The corn and pork ribs soup was rippled, without a trace of oil. The aroma of pork ribs and the sweetness of corn wafted across the table.

The grouper, sprinkled with shredded green onions, stands out in the soy sauce, and the snow-white fish meat can be seen through the slightly raised edges.

"These are all my favorite foods." Qin Yuyao raised her eyes and looked at Luan Zhengya with sparkling eyes.

Seeing her smile, her eyes sparkling with stars, Luan Zhengya couldn't help but lose focus. He reached for the grouper with his chopsticks and placed a piece of fish, drizzled with broth and a little oil, in the small bowl in front of Qin Yuyao.

"I've specifically told the chef, please try it." Luan Zhengya spoke in a low, unhurried voice.

Qin Yuyao felt that the color of the person in front of her was more tempting than the dish, and blinked to regain her composure. Qin Yuyao secretly despised herself for being so worried about the other person's beauty after so long.

Thinking of the rumors about Prince Zhen'an being extremely cruel, it seemed that they had overlooked his good looks. Qin Yuyao lowered her eyes, the smile still lingering as she carefully picked up the fish and put it into her mouth.

In an instant, Qin Yuyao subconsciously increased her chewing speed.

Seeing this, Luan Zhengya knew that the food was very much to her liking. She simply took some of the dishes on the table and piled them all into the small bowl in front of Qin Yuyao.

Seeing that Luan Zhengya was about to continue feeding, Qin Yuyao quickly reached out to block her own bowl. Then she shook her head and said, "No need to add more food for me, you can eat too."

After saying that, Qin Yuyao also reciprocated the gesture by picking up a piece of the roast duck in front of her and putting it into the empty bowl in front of Luan Zhengya.

Jiang He watched their actions unfold from a distance, and his teeth ached. It was truly bizarre that these two acted like newlyweds every day.

Everyone on the third floor was having a great time, but someone rushed up from downstairs. Jiang He had noticed something was wrong with the noise coming from downstairs and quickly ran to the stairs to stop them.

The man was very familiar with Jiang He. When he saw Jiang He's movements, he stopped. However, his voice was very loud and he spoke with a breath, "Report to Lord Jiang, there is an urgent news from the grassland tribe. Another messenger has gone to the camp to report to His Highness Shengyue."

As he spoke, the messenger stretched out his hands, revealing the cloth he was tightly clutching. The cloth was red, without any embroidery, but the dark patterns on it were clearly visible, causing Jiang He's pupils to shrink.

Jiang He immediately stopped trying to stop her, turned around, bowed, and said to Luan Zhengya, "Your Highness, please report this urgently."

Qin Yuyao had already suspected something urgent when Jiang He stopped moving. In the past, unless it was a major matter, she would usually wait until they were done before informing them, but now he had interrupted their meal.

Seeing this, Qin Yuyao put down her chopsticks as if nothing had happened and looked at Luan Zhengya with a smile: "You take care of the urgent matter first, I'll go downstairs to take a look."

"What are you looking at?" Luan Zhengya didn't let Jiang He continue speaking, and looked at Qin Yuyao and said.

Knowing the urgency of the matter, Qin Yuyao smiled and said, "I just saw a fabric shop downstairs. I'll go down and take a look."

Hearing this, Luan Zhengya looked at Jiang He, who nodded in understanding. Seeing Qin Yuyao stand up and walk downstairs, she immediately followed.

The messenger, who had been holding his breath just now, handed over the cloth very tactfully, but Luan Zhengya took out a fire starter from his sleeve.

He carefully pried a hole from the edge of the cloth and then took out the real secret information from the interlayer of the cloth.

It’s true that he doesn’t want to embarrass Luan Zhengya, and it’s also true that he wants to check on the shop.

Qin Yuyao walked into the shop, and soon a smart clerk came up to greet her with a smile and said respectfully, "Sir, are you here to buy fabric?"

The guy smiled warmly, but there was no emotion in his eyes.

Qin Yuyao's eyes fell on the surprisingly delicate fabrics, but she didn't notice anything amiss. Pointing to the royal blue satin at the back of the counter, she said, "This royal blue satin doesn't look like handmade, nor does it look like it was woven on a loom. Bring it out so I can take a look."

Jiang He was standing not far from Qin Yuyao. When he came in just now, he saw that the fabric shop was very quiet. With his good hearing, he could hear even if there was someone in the yard.

Jiang He immediately became more alert and moved closer to Qin Yuyao. However, after seeing the man honestly take out the silk and then stand aside without moving, Jiang He thought he was being suspicious.

"Sir, this silk is made by our boss himself. It is indeed not made on an ordinary loom. The boss himself spent a lot of time and made a wide loom by comparing it one to one." The clerk's expression was very lively when he talked about his own business, and it was obvious that he admired his boss's work very much.

Wide loom? Qin Yuyao couldn't help but be a little surprised. The textile factory she opened alone was all equipped with narrow looms. The embroiderers had a lot of trouble adjusting the silk, arranging the looms, and weaving the flowers.

However, because the loom is relatively small, no matter how hard they try, they can only produce a portion of the fabric. If the wide loom in this shop can be copied, the production of fabric will surely increase significantly in the future.

"Can you take me to see the wide loom?" Qin Yuyao said, turning her head to look at Jiang He.

After hearing this, the clerk couldn't help but hesitate for a moment, and looked at Qin Yuyao very obviously before hesitatingly saying: "I can take you in to take a look, but the shopkeeper is not here today. If you want to ask me more details, I don't know."

Qin Yuyao nodded slightly: "It's okay, I'm just curious and want to take a look first. If I need it, I might buy a few hundred directly from you."

Hearing that this was a big deal, the waiter did not dare to delay and invited Qin Yuyao in with a smile on his face.

Jiang He followed behind, glancing around from time to time. Seeing that there was nothing suspicious, he felt a little relieved.

But when the waiter lifted the curtain, stood at the door and bowed to invite Qin Yuyao in, he suddenly took out a dagger and waved it towards Jiang He.

In the blink of an eye, Jiang He took two steps back to avoid the dagger that was about to slash his neck, and looked forward with a nervous heart.

Qin Yuyao, who was standing at the door and about to go in, had disappeared, and the guy who took action also disappeared on the spot with a puff of green smoke.

Jiang He's eyes widened, and cold sweat streamed down his face. He was finished! The prince would definitely not let him go. Jiang He rushed into the room, but he didn't see Qin Yuyao or the servant from before. He only saw two dead bodies behind the rows of looms.

Judging from the clothes of the two bodies, they were obviously the original owner and the clerk of the shop. Jiang He searched everywhere before accepting his fate.

He took out the whistle from his waist, and with the loud whistle sound, a group of people ran in quickly from outside the shop, each holding a long sword.

"The princess is not here. You guys guard the city gate and I'll go report to the prince." Jiang He said with a frown, then ran towards Ruyi Restaurant.
