Chapter 13 Chapter 13 No Hiding Dogs
The old man nodded, sat down on the sofa, and asked Si Guanqing about things in the company. Ding Man poured him a cup of tea.
As we were chatting, the two little ones came back.
Si Cheng stood far away and called out coldly, "Grandpa."
Xia Ji was very enthusiastic and ran straight to the old man, shouting happily: "Grandpa, you are here!"
"Where did you go to play?" the old man asked with a smile.
"He's going to take a shower." Si Cheng and the old man said almost at the same time. "He's gone to play with the dog."
"Playing with the dog? Annie? Doesn't it bite people?" the old man asked in surprise.
"Grandpa, don't bite. Annie is very gentle now. She just wants to protect the puppy." Xia Ji said.
"Okay, go take a shower and then have dinner." Si Cheng said.
Lily took the summer away immediately.
"Grandpa, have you eaten?" Si Cheng asked.
"No, ask the kitchen to prepare an extra pair of bowls and chopsticks." said the old man.
When he heard that the old man hadn't eaten yet, Si Guanqing immediately stood up and said, "How about we eat first? Are you hungry?"
"It's okay, no rush, wait for Ji Ji, I quite like this kid." The old man waved his hand and said.
After the filming of the sixth episode of "Dear Children" is completed, the second season will officially end and should be broadcast during the scheduled winter vacation.
The summer vacation ended and school was about to start. Ding Man took Xia Ji to see a dentist and still told her not to eat sweets.
During this period, Xu Suxin also called several times, pretending to be concerned, but actually urging Ding Man to let Xia Tian take on more activities. However, Ding Man pushed back with a few words. Xu Suxin had no choice but to give up because she was tied to the contract.
Dante Man guessed that she would explode again soon.
Xia Ji was sent to Sicheng School by Ding Man. The principal personally interviewed him and easily enrolled him in his class. After all, it was a private school, and the Si family was also on the board of directors.
Ding Man originally thought it was an exaggeration. After all, children in the sixth grade are already eleven or twelve years old, while Xia Ji is only six years old and has never been to school before.
But since he was quite well behaved in class and could actually complete the homework assigned by the teacher, I stopped paying attention to him.
"Really?" Si Guanqing lifted the quilt and got into bed.
Ding Man sat at the head of the bed reading a book and said proudly, "Of course, that little look, so serious, not to mention how cute it is."
"Can he reach the table?" Si Guanqing said with a smile.
Ding Man rolled her eyes at him and said, "As long as my IQ is high enough, that's enough!"
"I didn't expect the child you picked up would be so smart."
"Yeah, I didn't expect that. I just liked him, and he looked so pitiful, even malnourished. Oh, speaking of this, I should take him to the hospital for a checkup tomorrow." Ding Man picked up her phone to check tomorrow's schedule.
"What's wrong? Is he feeling unwell?" Si Guanqing also picked up the book on the bedside table and started reading.
"I find that you always turn a deaf ear to what I say. Didn't I tell you before that he is malnourished? The doctor asked me to take him for regular checkups every month to avoid affecting his development. After all, he is already short now." Ding Man said.
Both children would drink a glass of milk before going to bed. Lily would bring the milk to their room and then urge them to brush their teeth.
Sicheng is easy to deal with because he is self-disciplined. Xia Ji likes to procrastinate. For example, if he is reading a book or playing something fun, he will wait until he has had enough fun before brushing his teeth, and sometimes he will forget.
Lily went to Xiaji's room first, put the milk on the desk and went to Sicheng's room.
Si Cheng took the milk, drank it in one gulp, and put the glass back on the tray. Not seeing Xia Ji's cup, he asked, "What is he doing?"
"Working on a puzzle," Lily said.
Si Cheng walked to the door of Xia Ji's room, knocked, and opened it without waiting for a response.
The child on the bed hid the thing in his arms under the quilt in panic, but still let out a few childish "whimpers" - it was a puppy.
Si Cheng frowned and walked over.
"What, what are you doing?" Xia Ji pressed the quilt and blocked it with his back. But the puppy was no longer the newborn puppy. It crawled out from the other side of the quilt by itself, ran back to Xia Ji and licked his hand.
Xia Ji was startled. "Ah, why did you come out? No, why are you here? Where is your mother? Why did she leave you here?"
"Oh, oh, oh." The puppy looked up at them, its big black eyes wagging its short tail happily, and its round body twisting and turning, looking so innocent.
Si Cheng: "..."
Lily covered her mouth to stifle laughter.
"What did I say? You are not allowed to bring them up." Si Cheng said seriously.
"Why, why not?" Xia Ji was frightened by his serious look, and hugged the chubby puppy with her little hands.
"dirty."
“It’s not dirty.”
The dirty feeling that Sicheng mentioned was different from the dirty feeling that Xia Ji mentioned. Lily saw that Sicheng was unhappy and was afraid that he would get angry, so she quickly persuaded him: "Ji Ji, be good. The dog hasn't taken a bath yet, how could you put it on the bed? Give the dog to me, I will take it back."
Xia Ji pursed her lips and handed the dog to Lily.
"Go take a shower, clean the room and change the bedding." Si Cheng ordered.
Xia Tian wanted to say something but hesitated, and finally said nothing.
Two more servants came in, tidied up his room, and took him to take a bath.
Apart from the issue with the dog, there was actually nothing wrong between him and Si Cheng. After spending so many days together, he had almost understood Si Cheng's true character, which was cold on the outside but soft on the inside.
However, one afternoon when he went to Si Guanqing's study to find Si Cheng, he accidentally overheard their conversation and changed his mind.
