Luo Jianqing vaguely felt that he seemed to have touched a very strange thing. He only vaguely knew that the thing was there, but he didn't know its shape, its form, what it was, or what its use was.
Luo Jianqing crushed the drop of water, and the bright red thread connected to it also shattered.
If it doesn't do anything, what's the point of this thread? Why is it there?
Luo Jianqing was completely confused and couldn't figure it out.
As time passed, Luo Jianqing would occasionally take out some things from the ring, carefully observing the cause and effect lines on them, and sometimes decisively crushing them.
What surprised Luo Jianqing was that for some things, the bright red thread would disappear if you crushed them; but for some things, the bright red thread would not disappear immediately even if you crushed them, but would slowly sink into the ground and disappear.
"Why do some red lines disappear? Why do others become buried in the earth? What's the difference between the two?"
Luo Jianqing fell into a blind spot, searching aimlessly for his direction in the thick fog. Beside him, Xuan Lingzi cast a series of earth seals into the alchemy furnace. Golden talismans imprinted themselves on the small, round pill, causing it to emit a dazzling light and spin continuously.
The two of them were busy with their own things, and the one-year deadline was getting closer and closer.
However, just as the eleventh month arrived, Luo Jianqing suddenly heard a faint sound of breaking wind. He immediately opened his eyes and looked at Xuan Lingzi in surprise. Xuan Lingzi also turned to look at him. Almost instantly, the two nodded to each other and said, "Let's go!"
Xuan Lingzi flicked his sleeve and put the alchemy furnace into his sleeve, while Luo Jianqing destroyed all the tables and chairs in the cave with the wind of his sword.
Without hesitation, the two men turned and left. As soon as they left the mountain, they heard cries of pain from behind them. Luo Jianqing and Xuan Lingzi glanced at each other, first finding a mountain peak to hide themselves, then turned back to look.
A middle-aged monk was seen flying around in the air, his hands clutching his head, his face covered in blood, howling in pain. He was flying up and down without any pattern, like a headless fly.
Xuan Lingzi whispered to Luo Jianqing, "The Seventh Elder of the Divine Sword Sect."
Luo Jianqing nodded immediately.
They looked carefully at the middle-aged monk, who was surrounded by a thick purple mist. He seemed to have encountered something terrible, and kept making terrifying gasps and shouts of fear. Every time he shouted, several bloody wounds would appear on his body, and blood would flow out.
“No…no!”
"Ahhh I'm not... no!"
"Save me! Save me!"
Luo Jianqing's gaze paused on the purple mist surrounding him. He carefully examined it, then suddenly opened his eyes wide and exclaimed in a low voice, "Three thousand years of dream evil!"
The three thousand year old dream demon has shed its skin thirty times and can trap a cultivator in the late Mahayana stage!
The Seventh Elder of the Divine Sword Sect was only at the mid-stage of the Great Vehicle Realm. Trapped in this three-thousand-year-long dream, he clearly couldn't possibly endure. Perhaps due to the excruciating torture he endured within the illusion, the Seventh Elder repeatedly fled, accidentally stumbling upon the depths of the Dream Land, near the small cave where Luo Jianqing and Xuan Lingzi were hiding.
Luo Jianqing frowned and whispered, "We are already deep in the Dream Demon Land. It's a coincidence that the Seventh Elder was able to arrive here. Master, why don't we wait here for a while? Perhaps after he leaves or dies, we can go back."
Xuan Lingzi agreed: "Okay."
Luo Jianqing and the others are already very familiar with this mountain range. It would be best if they could stay here.
Luo Jianqing and Xuan Lingzi waited patiently.
The Seventh Elder really seemed to be crazy. No one knew what he saw in that illusion, but he was madly crashing into the hills. Even though he was covered in blood and even his left arm was torn off, he did not stop.
A long time passed, and Luo Jianqing watched this scene, feeling something was amiss. Just as he was about to leave, he saw three streams of light coming from the distant west. The three of them were extremely fast, and the leader rushed directly in front of the Seventh Elder and said, "Junior Brother!"
Luo Jianqing opened his eyes wide and looked at Xuan Lingzi in horror.
It turned out to be the Grand Elder of the Divine Sword Sect, Patriarch Jian Xiao!
Ancestor Jian Xiao tried to stop the Seventh Elder from committing self-harm, but the Seventh Elder was completely oblivious to his words and continued to pound the mountain and the earth, torturing himself beyond recognition. The two powerful men beside Ancestor Jian Xiao also rushed to help, but they couldn't possibly hurt the Seventh Elder, and yet the Seventh Elder attacked them like a madman.
Seeing that the Seventh Elder had already broken his left leg and thrown it away, and his left arm was also broken, the Sword Xiao Patriarch said with great sorrow: "Junior Brother, even if you die, you cannot die so without dignity and let that Dream Demon take advantage of you for nothing!"
As soon as the words fell, the Sword Xiao Patriarch said: "Set up the formation and kill him!"
Luo Jianqing's eyes narrowed, and he saw that the other two elders of the Divine Sword Sect hesitated for only a moment. Seeing that the Seventh Elder was about to reach out to dig out his eyes, they no longer hesitated, and quickly drew their swords and stepped forward. Each of them pierced the Seventh Elder's chest with a sword, killing the latter.
Before dying, the Seventh Elder seemed still immersed in a fantasy, unable to extricate himself. Even as he was about to die, he dug out his own eyes, and the bloody white eyeballs fell from the sky, one landing among the trees, and one... landing in front of Luo Jianqing!
