Chapter 39

This time, he flew up to Yuxiao Peak and did not return to his bamboo house. Instead, he came to the side and gently knocked on Xuan Lingzi's door. He whispered, "Master, there is something I don't understand during my cultivation. I would like to look through the books on your shelf."

Xuan Lingzi's cold voice came from inside the room: "Come in."

After Luo Jianqing entered the room, he didn't just sneak the book in, but walked straight to Xuan Lingzi. Xuan Lingzi was meditating with his eyes closed, and Luo Jianqing kept looking at him, refusing to look away. As he watched, the tips of Xuan Lingzi's ears gradually turned red. He coughed, opened his eyes, frowned, and said, "What book do you want to read?"

Luo Jianqing shook his head: "Master, I didn't hear clearly what you said to me a few days ago."

Xuan Lingzi was stunned and didn't react for a moment.

Luo Jianqing said again: "Master, that's what I said, you...what about me?"

The tips of Xuan Lingzi's ears suddenly turned red, but Luo Jianqing didn't notice. He twitched his fingers twice, then lowered his voice and said calmly, "Go and read the book you requested." He closed his eyes again, as if to continue his meditation.

Luo Jianqing's eyes shifted, and he sat down next to Xuan Lingzi, causing him to freeze. He leaned forward, chuckling softly, and whispered, "Master, you haven't told me yet... what you think of me? You seemed to say that you're attracted to..."

"Go read a book!"

Xuan Lingzi used his spiritual power to knock Luo Jianqing to the bookshelf. When Luo Jianqing turned around, the White-robed Venerable had already disappeared into the bamboo house, and no one knew where he had gone. Seeing this, Luo Jianqing first laughed helplessly, then flipped his hand and took out the book from his storage ring.

Looking at the five words "Spring Breeze Collection" on the cover, Luo Jianqing blushed and quickly stuffed the book into the bookshelf.

After finishing all this, Luo Jianqing randomly pulled out a book and flipped through it while waiting for Xuan Lingzi to return. Unfortunately, when the sun set and the moon rose, Xuan Lingzi still hadn't returned. Suddenly, Luo Jianqing understood something. He put the torn book back and left the bamboo hut.

After a cup of tea, a white figure flew through the bamboo forest and flew straight into the bamboo house.

Xuan Lingzi sighed softly, a look of helplessness crossing his cool, elegant face. He flicked his sleeves, lit a moonlight lamp, and walked towards the bamboo couch. However, before he had taken a few steps, he heard a gentle knock on the door behind him.

Xuan Lingzi froze suddenly and turned to see the door being gently pushed open by the handsome young man. Standing beneath the moonlight, the azure-robed monk, his face elegant and refined, gazed at his master in the bamboo hut with clear eyes and murmured, "Master, Jianqing...wants to sleep with you."

The voice was pure and innocent, without any complicated emotions.

Nothing is different from thirty years ago.

Xuan Lingzi built a bamboo house for Luo Jianqing and ordered him to practice there from now on. That night, little Luo Jianqing timidly came to Xuan Lingzi's house and tried to sneak onto the bed, but was scolded by the ruthless master.

However, after the scolding, the master and disciple still slept in each other's arms.

Xuan Lingzi looked at the tall young man with a complicated expression. Luo Jianqing smiled back at him, his eyes calm. The two stared at each other for a long time. Xuan Lingzi couldn't help but soften his voice and sighed, "If you are determined to disobey Master's orders, then... what can I do to you?"

That night, the two people who had not slept for several days lay on the bed with their clothes on, sleeping opposite each other.

Luo Jianqing was no longer the child he had been. He could no longer roll into Xuan Lingzi's arms and fall asleep. But slowly, his hands climbed up Xuan Lingzi's waist and his body moved a little closer. After a long while, Xuan Lingzi frowned slightly and let out a helpless sigh.

He put his arm around his disciple's waist, closing the distance between them.

After thirty-one years, Luo Jianqing had never slept so peacefully again. He felt as if he had returned to the safest, warmest place in the world. He fell into a deep sleep in that person's arms. The faint fragrance of lotus filled his nose, and the warmth of that person's body lingered between his fingers.

In the end, even Xuan Lingzi fell into a deep sleep after being away for many years.

The moonlight shines on the master and disciple, and everything seems to have returned to many years ago.

From then on, Luo Jianqing abandoned his own house and spent all day in Xuan Lingzi's bamboo house practicing breathing exercises. Xuan Lingzi scolded him at first, but in the end, looking at his disciple's face pretending to be lost, he acquiesced to everything.

However, Luo Jianqing didn't stay at Mount Taihua for long this time. Ten days later, a ragged young man arrived at the gate of Mount Taihua in a panic. The two disciples guarding the gate were about to yell at him to stop, but they discovered that he was actually a cultivator in the Foundation Establishment stage!

When this Foundation Establishment cultivator saw his fellow disciples from Mount Taihua, he was overjoyed and cried out, "I'm back! I'm finally back!"

After being apart for several months, even Luo Jianqing had forgotten that he had kicked the insignificant Li Xiuchen down the mountain.

Li Xiuchen finally returned to Mount Taihua. After enduring such great hardships and accidentally missing the once-every-seven-year sect competition, he should have devoted himself to cultivation and consolidating his skills. However, after only two weeks back at Mount Taihua, he immediately bid farewell to the elders of Haoming Peak and left under the stars.

As soon as Li Xiuchen left, Xie Zizhuo immediately sent a disciple to inform Luo Jianqing. Xie Zizhuo didn't think too much of it, just thinking that Luo Jianqing was a little curious about this annoying Li Xiuchen, so he was a little concerned about his recent situation.

However, when Luo Jianqing learned that Li Xiuchen had left anxiously after only a few days of rest, he slowly frowned, returned to his bamboo house, and began to pack up. That night, Xuan Lingzi flicked his sleeves to extinguish the moonlight lamp, and before he lay down, he saw a pair of clear, light-colored eyes.
