Chapter 45

Luo Jianqing took Qingjun's hand and returned to Taihua Mountain.

This time, the disciple guarding the mountain gate seemed to have learned from the last lesson and no longer dared to shout loudly. He just said respectfully, "Hello, Senior Brother", and then quickly let them pass.

Under a clear, bright sky, the seven peaks of Mount Taihua stood in a triangular formation, reaching into the clouds. Many disciples were sparring in the martial arts training grounds of each peak, while many others were immersed in seclusion, striving to improve their cultivation. Luo Jianqing paid no attention to these events. He held Qingjun tightly in his hand and headed straight for Yuxiao Peak. However, upon reaching this peak, he suddenly stopped.

Qingjun's delicate face showed no expression, and she let Luo Jianqing pull her.

The two stood at the foot of Yuxiao Peak for a long time. When they found that Luo Jianqing didn't seem to want to go up, Qingjun frowned and looked at him in surprise. When she saw Luo Jianqing's expression, Qingjun was stunned and couldn't say what she wanted to say.

Luo Jianqing raised his eyes slightly and looked at the towering mountain with a complicated expression.

He has lived here ever since he could remember, and has been dependent on that person for ten years.

On Yuxiao Peak, there were only the two of them, master and disciple. Xuan Lingzi didn't know how to cook, and earlier, before Luo Jianqing had practiced fasting, some of his disciples would come up to bring him food. Later, after Luo Jianqing learned how to cook and practiced fasting, the mountain truly became their domain.

There were two of them, and only two of them.

Luo Jianqing did not burn the copy of "Seeking Immortality III" from yesterday. He knew very well that such a thing must be destroyed immediately, and he also knew that if such a thing was seen by anyone else, the consequences would be extremely serious, but he still couldn't bear to destroy it.

Perhaps it was because he wanted to use the book to remind himself of the innocent and tragic deaths of his two junior brothers, or perhaps it was because he was reluctant to destroy the words.

From the beginning to the end, I have always been your disciple. Even when Venerable Huo Mingzi was furious and demanded my life, you were still willing to save my life.

You believed me, you didn't deny me.

Qingjun gradually felt that his hand was being held very tightly by Luo Jianqing, and it even began to hurt, but he did not say a word.

For tens of thousands of years, Qingjun sat alone on that steep, precipitous mountaintop, strumming the same dull tune. Day and night, he played, repeating the same tune day and night. The once joyous and passionate hymn gradually became a dull and indifferent lament, but he continued to play.

He could now feel Luo Jianqing's great emotional fluctuations. Although he didn't understand why all this came from, Qingjun didn't want to disturb him.

After a long moment, Luo Jianqing released his hand, turned around and looked down at Qingjun, and said gently, "Senior, I have some things I want to deal with. I wonder if you can return to the ring."

Qing Jun nodded: "I also want to retreat and recuperate for a while. If you need anything, you can take out the elixir and call my name, and I will wake up."

Luo Jianqing nodded in agreement, and soon Qingjun turned into a stream of light and flew into Luo Jianqing's storage ring.

The next moment, Luo Jianqing tapped the ground on his toes, and in the blink of an eye, he reached the summit of Yuxiao Peak. His pace gradually slowed, and he passed through the rustling bamboo forest and across the flat medicinal herb fields. Luo Jianqing soon saw Xuan Lingzi waiting in front of the bamboo house, so he stopped abruptly.

Xuan Lingzi looked at Luo Jianqing, and for some reason, his face flushed. Then he said, "What did you gain from this training? Were you injured?"

Luo Jianqing didn't appear to have any injuries, and Xuan Lingzi had already scanned his body with his spiritual sense, confirming that he had no internal injuries. However, Xuan Lingzi couldn't help but ask, but he didn't get an answer from Luo Jianqing.

Xuan Lingzi frowned and asked, "Jianqing?"

Luo Jianqing slowly curled his lips into a brilliant smile, and strode up to Xuan Lingzi.

Xuan Lingzi's face flushed even more intensely, and he stumbled back a step, but unexpectedly, Luo Jianqing grabbed his hand. Instantly, a scorching heat spread from the place where their hands touched, causing Xuan Lingzi's eyes to shrink, and a burning color suddenly appeared in his heart.

Luo Jianqing looked up at him and said, "Master, if one day I betray my sect, what will you do to me?"

Xuan Lingzi's body stiffened, and he said in a calm voice, "You will not betray your master."

Luo Jianqing asked in return: "Why?"

Xuan Lingzi lowered his eyes and looked at the disciple in front of him. He couldn't help but reach out and embrace him, holding him tightly in his arms. He put his lips close to Luo Jianqing's ear and whispered softly, "Because, if you leave, I will only follow you."

The warm breath poured into Luo Jianqing's ears, making him tremble in his heart. He reached out and hugged Xuan Lingzi's waist, burying his head in his shoulder, his nose filled with the faint fragrance of lotus.

After a long time, Luo Jianqing finally said: "Master, a long time ago, I got a book."

Xuan Lingzi was slightly stunned, let go of Luo Jianqing's waist, and looked down at him.

Under the bright and warm sunlight, the young man's eyes shone like stars, and a gentle smile adorned his face, just as handsome and refined as Xuan Lingzi remembered him. Luo Jianqing spoke word by word, "That book is called 'Seeking Immortality.'"

Next, Luo Jianqing began to narrate the plot of "Seeking Immortality" to Xuan Lingzi.

When Xuan Lingzi learned that he and Luo Jianqing were just characters in a book, he didn't react much. Because, just as Luo Jianqing had thought, true cultivators cultivate themselves and their true hearts. They firmly believe in their own existence and will not abandon themselves because of a book.

But as he listened, Xuan Lingzi hugged Luo Jianqing's Son of God tightly, and his face gradually became gloomy.
