Ever since Xuan Lingzi reported the Dinghai Sect's situation back to Mount Taihua three months ago, Venerable Hao Xingzi had joined forces with other righteous cultivators to formulate a plan to exterminate the demonic beasts in the Thirty-Six States. In fact, Hao Xingzi had also sent someone to the Demon Realm to invite a representative from the Demon Dao Palace, but the Demon Dao Palace did not send anyone.
During these three months, all major sects made discoveries.
In the four states surrounding Mount Taihua, no fewer than fifty demon beasts were discovered! Among them, there were thirty fifth-tier demon beasts, equivalent to a Jindan-stage cultivator, twelve sixth-tier demon beasts, four seventh-tier demon beasts, two eighth-tier demon beasts, one ninth-tier demon beast, and one Earth-tier demon lord!
Other sects might not have as many demon beasts as Mount Taihua, but without exception, they all possess high-level demon beasts. The Demon Lord of the Early Tribulation Crossing stage discovered by the Broken Soul Sect was the first Earth-level Demon Lord to be discovered by a cultivator. The Demon Lord discovered at Mount Taihua was the second, and the third was the Earth-level Black Flame Demon Fire Beast discovered by the Feihua Sect.
Mount Taihua, Lingyun Palace.
"We've only been searching for three months, and we've already found so many. We never imagined the demon race would have so many people planted within our Thirty-Six States." Venerable Hao Xingzi's face was stern, and he said solemnly, "Elders, please go to the Demon Realm immediately and ask the Demon Dao Palace to eliminate the demon spies within the Demon Realm. If a war breaks out, these demons lurking in the Thirty-Six States and the Demon Realm will be our scourge!"
"Yes, Master!"
Taihua Mountain arranged several elders to go to the Demon Palace. Even if the Demon Palace was unruly in the past, it had to consider the overall situation at this moment.
At the same time, the Broken Soul Sect, the Flying Flower Sect, the Return Origin Sect, and the Divine Sword Sect also sent people to the Demon Realm. The area occupied by the eight great families was not as large as that of Taihua Mountain and the four great sects, so their task of clearing out the demons was not very heavy, and they only discovered three ninth-level demon beasts in total.
After listening to the messages from the people sent by these sects, Venerable Hao Xingzi pondered for a long time with a solemn expression. Finally, he dismissed the idle people around him and left Zuo Yunmo alone in Lingyun Hall.
In the vast, empty Lingyun Hall, the bluestone tiles gleamed brightly, and ninety-nine and eighty-one thick golden columns supported this magnificent hall. The white-haired Venerable Hao Xingzi sat in the high seat, his gray brow furrowed. After a long moment of thought, he sighed deeply and looked at his eldest disciple with a complicated gaze.
Zuo Yunmo was wearing light yellow clothes and looked back calmly.
Venerable Hao Xingzi said, "Yun Mo, you're only fifty-eight years old this year, yet you've already consolidated your Nascent Soul cultivation. This realm isn't much different than your uncle, Xuan Lingzi. But you must understand that the era you live in right now is very different from three hundred years ago. I don't know why, but in the past few decades, top talents have emerged one after another. There's a saying since ancient times that the opportunities bestowed by Heaven in each era are always different."
Having said this, Venerable Hao Xingzi paused. He looked at Zuo Yunmo seriously and said, "And you are living in an era that is far superior to that of Junior Brother Xuan Lingzi."
What Venerable Hao Xingzi said was not nonsense.
If we look back to the recorded history of the cultivation world, going back ten thousand years, we'll find that there are always eras where geniuses emerge one after another, while in other eras, the number and quality of geniuses are simply less. This phenomenon has no basis in reason. Perhaps it is truly the will of heaven, making some eras more prosperous and others more desolate.
Hao Xingzi said, "Now, we have reached the most prosperous period in tens of thousands of years. Your senior brother Luo Jianqing has caught up, but you are still far behind him. No one can know when the two clans will start fighting, but Yun Mo, with your cultivation level, you can only be a mediocre member of the battlefield, unknown."
Zuo Yunmo bowed respectfully and said, "I, the disciple, have no desire to become famous. I only wish for the great victory of the human race and the well-being of all living beings."
Hao Xingzi shook his head and said, "My life span is short. You will inherit the position of the head of Taihua Mountain one day."
Zuo Yunmo lowered his head and said nothing.
After a long time, Hao Xingzi flicked his sleeves and said, "Go to Wanshou Ridge and look for opportunities."
Zuo Yunmo nodded in agreement.
This situation also occurs on other peaks of Mount Taihua.
On the Bican Peak, the third senior sister Wei Qiongyin had already been in seclusion to strive for the Nascent Soul stage, and was determined not to come out for ten years.
On the Beast Taming Peak, the fifth junior brother Huo Yuchong left Taihua Mountain and went to Wanshou Ridge to capture monsters.
On the Liehuo Peak, the sixth junior brother Xiu Hen forged an earth-grade sword, fell into a state of enlightenment, and began to strive for the Nascent Soul stage.
On Qinglan Peak, Junior Sister Mu Tianxin wanted to go out for training, but Venerable Yuqingzi was extremely worried. He kept saying, "Wait until I refine this furnace of Heaven-grade Seventh-grade Rongyu Pills, and then you can take them and go out, okay? No, tomorrow I will go find Senior Brother Huo Mingzi and ask him to make you a set of Earth-grade ultimate magic weapons!"
On Haoming Peak, where the largest number of disciples resided, Venerable Guanglingzi gathered all of his inner disciples and gave them all instructions. He urged each disciple to concentrate on their training and to at least be strong enough to defend themselves before the war between the two clans. He also personally instructed several of his most valued disciples.
When it was Li Xiuchen's turn, Guanglingzi paused slightly and glanced at Jie Zizhuo who was standing next to him.
Xie Zizhuo, dressed in a black, tight-fitting suit, stood tall, youthful, and handsome, appearing even more composed than he had been a decade or so ago. However, seeing his beloved disciple in this state, Venerable Guanglingzi sighed, bypassed Li Xiuchen, and continued giving instructions.
Li Xiuchen had already reached the late stage of foundation building, making him a truly exceptional disciple on Haoming Peak. Guanglingzi hadn't personally taught him, leaving Li Xiuchen stunned. By the time he recovered, he had already been dragged out of the hall by his fellow disciples.
