Chapter 80

Luo Jianqing looked at the winding mountain range in the distance and pursed his lips in silence.

This mountain range resembles a sleeping black dragon. The low hills in the northwest are its drooping tail, while the steep peaks in the northeast are its raised head. The peak in the northeast is Kushan, the source of the Kushan Mountain Range.

Luo Jianqing still remembers the scene when the Kushan Mountain Range collapsed. Everything seems like yesterday, but at this moment the Kushan Mountain is quiet and peaceful, and from a distance it seems as if there is no danger at all.

However...it is a barren mountain after all!

Luo Jianqing clenched his fingers tightly, his slender eyes gradually turned red, and his body became completely stiff.

After looking for a long time, Luo Jianqing turned around and said, "We must stay away from the withered mountain and take a slightly longer detour. We can't get close to it."

Mo Qiu had no objection and let Luo Jianqing decide everything. So the two of them took a longer detour, avoiding the Kushan Mountains from afar, and planned to pass through the Bottomless Cave and leave the Far North.

By the time they arrived at the Bottomless Cave, Luo Jianqing had already calmed down, not losing his composure like he had when he saw Kushan. He had been to the Bottomless Cave with Xuan Lingzi before and was quite familiar with the place, so he quickly passed through it with Mo Qiu.

This time, their purpose wasn't to gain experience, nor was it to relax, but simply to hurry on. So along the way, Luo Jianqing and Mo Qiu didn't stop to rest at all, until one night, when the thick haze rose up and filled the bottomless cave with a world of yellow sand, the two reluctantly landed on the ground, intending to rest for a night before continuing on their journey.

Luo Jianqing rested his head on a sturdy tree, looking down at the night pearl on the ground that was emitting a bright light.

Previously, in Senior Mo Qing's ruins, Luo Jianqing heard many unknown things. For example, he was practicing the "Nine Lotuses Heaven-Taking Record", and Senior Mo Qing knew that a mountain would collapse and gave him a storage ring, but hoped that he would never open it in his lifetime.

Everything was like a thick fog, making Luo Jianqing lost in it and unable to get out.

Luo Jianqing had never felt so lost. What exactly was the "Nine Lotuses Heaven-Taking Record"? Why had the withered mountain collapsed? What was in that storage ring? And finally...how could he rescue his master?

What if he really can’t be rescued, what if the withered mountain collapses again, then Master...!

A soft voice suddenly rang out: "If you use any more force, my bead will break. You must compensate me."

Luo Jianqing was slightly startled when he heard this, and suddenly came out of the anxious and helpless mood he had just been in. Only then did he realize that he had pressed his hand on the night pearl without knowing when, leaving a deep handprint.

Luo Jianqing turned to look at Mo Qiu, only to see him looking at him with his chin propped up, his small figure reflected in his beautiful peach blossom eyes. Mo Qiu rarely looked at him like this, which made Luo Jianqing quite uncomfortable. He subconsciously shifted his gaze, only to hear him whisper, "Luo Jianqing, are you hiding something from me?"

This one sentence made Luo Jianqing stunned.

Mo Qiu didn't seem to want Luo Jianqing's answer. He continued, "Guess, am I hiding something from you?"

His mood had gradually calmed down. Luo Jianqing removed his hand from the night-shining pearl, lowered his eyes, and said, "Yes."

Mo Qiu's body stiffened slightly and asked, "What's the matter?"

Luo Jianqing said calmly, "You never told me why you cultivated so quickly." As soon as he finished speaking, Luo Jianqing glanced at Mo Qiu and said coldly, "Don't even mention that you are gifted. Even if you are gifted, you shouldn't be able to cultivate at this speed."

Mo Qiu: "...but I am gifted!"

Luo Jianqing: "Then just keep hiding it from me. I don't really care anyway."

Mo Qiu: "..."

After a long while, Mo Qiu asked again: "You really don't think that I'm hiding something from you? It's not about the speed of cultivation."

Luo Jianqing thought for a while and asked, "You don't have any plans against me, do you?" As he spoke, Luo Jianqing sat a little to the side and glanced up and down at Mo Qiu.

Mo Qiu: "..."

Mo Qiu: "Luo! Jian! Qing! Tell me yourself, is there anything about you that is worth my coveting? Tell me!"

Looking at Mo Qiu's angry expression, the gloom in Luo Jianqing's heart finally dissipated completely. He couldn't help but chuckle and said, "Okay, okay, what's wrong with you today? Are you really hiding something from me and want to tell me now? I don't care too much. Everyone has their own secrets. I believe you won't harm me, so it doesn't matter if you don't tell me."

Mo Qiu fell silent, staring at Luo Jianqing dimly.

The two looked at each other for a while, and Luo Jianqing raised his eyebrows: "What?"

Mo Qiu said: "You really don't want to know?"

Luo Jianqing said: "If you want to tell me, then I will listen. If you don't want to say it, I don't care."

Mo Qiu snorted lightly: "Then I must tell you."

In the pitch-black night, yellow sand drifted slowly through the air, smearing the sky and earth in a bleak yellow. In the bottomless cave at night, the sky and the mountains were invisible. Luo Jianqing and Mo Qiu seemed to be surrounded by a world of orange and yellow. Where the night pearls didn't illuminate, there was a dead, bleak yellow.

Luo Jianqing said casually: "If you must tell me, then I will listen...Mo Qiu!"

The voice suddenly rose, and Luo Jianqing opened his eyes wide, looking at the scene in horror.

Suddenly, a thin hand stretched out from the yellow world and instantly grabbed Mo Qiu's neck! He had almost no power to fight back, and almost no time to react. The hand was firmly locked on Mo Qiu's neck, causing him to freeze instantly.

“Da Da——”

It sounded softly, like the sound of shoes stepping on yellow sand.

Luo Jianqing had already drawn his Frost Floating Sword, gripping it tightly as he stared warily at the figure who had suddenly emerged from the darkness of the yellow sand. Mo Qiu, on the other hand, stood frozen, his lips tightly pursed. His eyes were filled with anger and shame. A blood-red light flickered in his palm, but the moment it flashed, it was pierced by a black force, and blood flowed out!

Mo Qiu groaned, and his pierced palm trembled involuntarily due to the pain.

Before this person appeared, Luo Jianqing had never noticed anything about him; but when he appeared, he felt like he was being stared at by a terrifying beast. He didn't dare move, and his instinct even told him to turn around and run. But looking at Mo Qiu who was captured by the other party, Luo Jianqing gritted his teeth and asked, "Senior, who are you?"

Holding on to almost the last glimmer of hope, Luo Jianqing finally asked this question.

However, this time, he did not get a response from the other party.

The icy cold temperature passed through his neck. Mo Qiu frowned and silently looked at the hand that grabbed his neck. His eyes slid across the extremely thin wrist, and finally landed on a dark red pattern on the back of the other person's hand.

Mo Qiu raised his red lips slightly, and a sneer appeared on the corner of his mouth. He looked calm and said sarcastically: "It is really a shame to be able to let the Lord of the First Sea in the Demon Realm come to hunt down
