Chapter 82

The waves surged and crashed into the sea, creating streaks of white water.

On a desolate and desolate island, a bloodstained monk in green sat slumped on the ground, gazing at the endless sea. In his left hand, he clutched the four fragments of a bell, his face and clothes stained with blood. Yet, he simply stared at the sea, not even blinking.

The sun rises and sets, the moon rises and sets.

Luo Jianqing stared blankly for three whole days until he suddenly saw a pure white seabird fly from the horizon and gently land on the island. This bird was no ordinary bird; it was a second-tier monster, the Wind Feather Bird, found only in the Far North's Wind God Sea. It resembled a seagull, lacking in attack power, but its skin was as hard as black iron, capable of withstanding the intense winds of the Wind God Sea.

When the bird landed, Luo Jianqing didn't even look at it.

The white seabirds watched the seemingly lifeless human from a distance, one silently ignoring him while the other cautiously probed. Half a day later, the wind-feathered bird let out a long cry and flew swiftly towards Luo Jianqing, pecking straight into his eyes!

Only ten feet were left, but Luo Jianqing didn't move. Only five feet were left, but Luo Jianqing seemed to be oblivious. Only one foot, one inch, one inch...

Suddenly, Luo Jianqing raised his fingers and clamped the bird's beak with two fingers.

“Ouch!”

Luo Jianqing tightened his fingers, and the bird's beak broke into two pieces. The wind-feathered bird howled in pain and fled away, flapping its wings.

A look gradually appeared in his clear eyes. Luo Jianqing slowly raised his gaze and looked towards the blazing, bright sun in the sky. After a long moment, he stood up, walked to the edge of the island, bent down, and gently scooped up a handful of seawater.

Anyone who saw this water could never imagine that such clean, clear water could actually be the water of the Wind God Sea. It was pure and harmless, but from this water, a powerful wind was born that could terrify countless people. It was also in this vast ocean formed by this water...he lost his best friend.

Luo Jianqing looked at the water and lowered his head for a long time.

Strangely, the water didn't flow out of Luo Jianqing's fingers like normal water would. Luo Jianqing stared at the water in silence, then raised his left hand and placed a blood-red bell fragment into it. He bent down again and released the water and the bell into the sea, watching the small red bell fragment sink to the bottom of the sea.

For the next three fragments, Luo Jianqing took out the Frost Floating Sword and infused it with spiritual energy, drilling a small hole in the bell. He took out a bundle of Golden Crow Silkworm silk from his storage ring and strung the three bell fragments together, wearing it around his neck as a necklace.

After doing all this, Luo Jianqing supported himself on the ground with his sword and looked up at the setting sun.

Just as Mo Qiu had said, the sunset over the Fengshen Sea was breathtakingly beautiful. Mo Qiu hadn't seen such a beautiful view in years, and Luo Jianqing hadn't experienced the same feeling. A cultivator's pursuits inevitably require sacrifices. You can't have everything good in this world; there will always be some unsatisfactory things, and you have to accept them.

But Luo Jianqing never thought that he would lose his lifelong friend.

His relationship with Mo Qiu wasn't as harmonious as some good friends in the cultivation world. The two often mocked each other and argued with each other. In the early years, he even repeatedly hit Mo Qiu's face with his scabbard, a place he cared about the most.

However, when I look back now, compared with the separation of life and death, it is all beautiful.

Luo Jianqing slowly sat down on the soft sand, watching the sun slowly sink. He watched this beautiful scene, which Mo Qiu couldn't see in its entirety, carefully. When the last ray of light disappeared from the sea level, he still stared at the deep blue sky, never taking his eyes off it.

"How can one understand life and death without experiencing it?" a clear, helpless voice rang out softly. "I never imagined you would be so loyal and righteous. Three days have passed, and you still don't plan to leave here?"

Luo Jianqing slowly turned his head and saw an illusory shadow gradually emerging behind him.

The man was wearing a light green Confucian robe, with a handsome face and a gentle temperament.

Luo Jianqing looked at the man without saying a word, but the man, seeing his expression, said, "Luo Jianqing, it's time for you to leave."

After three days, Luo Jianqing finally spoke: "Qing Jun."

Qing Jun asked: "Are you wondering why I am here?"

Luo Jianqing fell silent and did not answer.

Qingjun said, "That day, when my true form transformed into a lamp wick, I left a trace of my will behind and sent it to you. I originally hoped that when you could refine the final two stages of the Nine Lotuses Heaven-Seizing Record, I might be able to help you. When I touched that lamp, many events from thirty thousand years ago came back to me. My master failed at the eighth stage, but since we've known each other for so long, I don't want you to fail. Failure is a fate more tragic than death."

Luo Jianqing asked, "What exactly is the 'Nine Lotuses Heaven-Taking Record'? What happened thirty thousand years ago?"

Qingjun shook his head gently and looked up at the sky. "I can't talk about what happened thirty thousand years ago, and I can't. But 'Nine Lotuses Heaven-Seizing Record' was adapted by my master from 'Nine Lotuses Original Heart Record'. The first seven attempts seemed dangerous, but there was a glimmer of hope. However, the last two attempts were almost impossible to succeed. My master was a genius, but he ultimately didn't find the correct path to the eighth attempt. He only had a vague idea that there should be nine attempts."

Luo Jianqing reached out and touched the bell necklace around his neck. He stood up and looked at Qingjun. The silence and grief in his expression slowly hid in his eyes. He bowed to Qingjun and said, "A few days ago, I met Senior Mo Qing and learned many secrets from him."
