Chapter 55 My Master's Charm is Truly Immense
A dense burst of demonic energy suddenly exploded between the two, sending the demon youth flying several meters away. Had it not been for the demonic energy behind him, he would likely have been slammed into a wall. The commotion was considerable, drawing the attention of the fleeing crowd. Ye Chi also drew his sword, his gaze fixed on the cold, moon-like figure the entire time, as if afraid that the bright moon might fall to earth at any moment.
The demon youth curled his lip to the side, spat out a mouthful of bloody spittle, and walked slowly, saying meaningfully and mockingly, "And what is this now?"
Ya Feiyu's expression remained cold and stern. "Demonic energy."
"I never expected that the renowned Celestial Snow Venerable would have an affair with a demonic cultivator." The young man covered his lips, feigning surprise, which almost made Ya Feiyu want to vomit. His silver phoenix eyes flashed with a cold light, and he flicked his sleeve, saying, "Stop pretending!"
"Hahahaha! If we're talking about putting on airs, no one can compare to you, Immortal Venerable!" The young man laughed maniacally, as if he had heard the funniest joke in the world. Pointing at Ya Feiyu's nose, he slowly said, "Hypocritical righteousness! On one hand, you claim to uphold justice and punish evil, while on the other hand, you secretly practice demonic cultivation techniques that you despise. Look at you, look at you! How righteous you are, how hypocritical you are!"
He laughed maniacally: "How can someone like you enjoy everything you have so comfortably!"
Something seemed off about those words. Ya Feiyu keenly sensed something, and his gaze towards the boy instantly darkened.
"If you utter another word of nonsense, I will kill you on behalf of my master." Before Ya Feiyu could speak, Ye Chi spoke up, like a wild dog whose territory had been offended.
"Ha, what a loyal dog." The demon youth cast a disdainful glance at him. "What a pity, what a pity."
The next instant, an overwhelming surge of demonic energy swept in from behind the boy. Ya Feiyu reacted swiftly, pushing Ye Chi aside and raising his hand to meet the attack. A dark purple light crackled and flickered in his palm. The demonic energy enveloped him, a chilling, bone-deep coldness coiling around his limbs, slowly rising and clinging to him like a shadow. Ya Feiyu trembled involuntarily; the demonic energy brought a deep-seated panic and unease, as if death itself were watching him from behind.
Ya Feiyu suddenly spat out a mouthful of foul blood, staining his clothes bright red. He gritted his teeth, raised his hand to wipe the blood from his lips, and secretly channeled his inner energy. A power that did not belong to his current body surged forth.
The demonic energy, like a ferocious beast, suddenly subsided, no longer swirling and trying to devour him. The agitation calmed down, and even the surrounding noise seemed to fade.
So quiet, so peaceful.
Ya Feiyu lowered his long eyelashes and slowly extended his hand. A wisp of demonic energy seemed to sense something, swirling around him before gently dispersing into his palm. Ya Feiyu clenched his fist, and the demonic energy dissipated, splitting into thinner strands. However, it did not disappear or merge into the denser demonic energy; instead, it merged into his fingertips. Ya Feiyu's fingertips trembled slightly. Although his body was originally trained in immortal arts, he did not feel any discomfort. The demonic energy easily merged with his spiritual energy, ultimately emitting a faint, ethereal purple light.
There may be no physical problems, but the psychological ones are another matter.
It was quiet all around, Ya Feiyu thought, probably because he was completely isolated by demonic energy. He couldn't hear any external sounds, but a voice in his mind was chattering incessantly. Ya Feiyu didn't want to listen, he didn't want to hear it, and the more he tried to escape, the clearer the voice became. Ya Feiyu then realized that it wasn't just one voice, but the voices of many people saying the same thing, merging and blending together, using different tones to sharply proclaim the same matter:
"Ya Feiyu, you will die a horrible death!"
In the blink of an eye, Ya Feiyu found himself seemingly standing in a strange, pure white space. (The last line appears to be a fragment and doesn't translate directly.)
He realized he was in a hallucination, looking around but seeing no end. He reached out, trying to touch the space, but it seemed to be blocked by an invisible wall. He couldn't leave the space; he was trapped inside a transparent wall that was even smaller than the space itself.
Images gradually appeared in the space, mostly blurry, with a few clear ones. Multiple images of varying sizes were combined together, like pictures pasted on a wall, only they moved. Ya Feiyu glanced at them indifferently. Most of the images were meaningless: skeletons, burning flames, and some hideous faces that looked neither human nor demon. A few had some meaning, but they were all blurry, and Ya Feiyu couldn't make them out clearly.
The images appeared before him, one scene at a time, then immediately disappeared, only to be replaced by a new one, repeating endlessly. Ya Feiyu was completely bewildered. Suddenly, all the images vanished, leaving only a massive portrait, large enough to occupy the entire space, before Ya Feiyu's eyes.
A snow-white figure stood atop the mountain peak, while the blood-red moon cast an ominous light upon the earth.
Fleeting.
The image disappeared, and Ya Feiyu clearly knew it was herself. The space suddenly darkened, turning from pure white to pure black, as if she were deep in an endless abyss. This time, it wasn't a moving image, but a sound, and words appeared before her eyes, densely packed, some pale in color, others bold and vibrant. As the words appeared, countless voices echoed in the space, seemingly familiar yet not quite so. Their voices combined to create a chaotic symphony.
"From now on, you are the little darling of the Li family!"
The voice, warm as if bathed in sunlight, spoke kindly, as if I had heard it somewhere before.
"Senior brother, your swordsmanship is amazing! Please teach me!"
The voice, as warm and enthusiastic as the sun, spoke with a cheerful tone, as if it had been heard somewhere before.
"Master."
The voice, as steady as sandalwood, spoke gently yet firmly, sounding familiar.
“The crow does not speak…”
A voice filled with hatred suddenly rang out, forcibly pulling Ya Feiyu away from that gentle, hypocritical facade. It was as if two hands were tightly gripping his throat, and a strong sense of suffocation and fear surged up at the same time, forcing Ya Feiyu to turn around and look at the bloody path he had left behind.
Those beautiful sounds and memories were also stained with the color of blood.
"You're the older brother, what's wrong with letting your younger brother have his way? It's just a Golden Core! With your talent, you can just refine another one!"
"Senior brother, I can no longer cultivate."
"Master..."
"Ya Feiyu, you will die a horrible death!"
All the words twisted and converged together, and the white ink slowly became stained with the color of blood as it was reassembled. In the end, what was displayed at the end of the space was a stroke that was unforgettable.
"Ya Feiyu, you will die a horrible death!"
Ya Feiyu, however, stood there.
His slender figure stood like a pine tree, seemingly bearing all the darkness along the way. The images and words displayed before him, along with the recurring voices, were all merely attempts to drive him into a corner. Ya Feiyu closed his eyes briefly, then opened them again. He smiled, a slight twitch at the corner of his mouth: "Yes."
His eyes were full of self-mockery, yet he remained calm and unexpectedly gentle: "I will indeed die a horrible death."
The sound that had been echoing in the space suddenly stopped, and the view in front of me suddenly opened up.
He returned to reality, and all the restless demonic energy was now under his control.
The boy was clearly taken aback by Ya Feiyu's abilities and stood there completely stunned.
"When I was enslaved by demonic energy, you were probably still infants learning to speak." A dark purple light seemed to appear in Ya Feiyu's eyes. He smiled, but his expression was indifferent. "Compare to me?"
The boy sensed something was wrong and tried to summon demonic energy to hide and escape, but he didn't expect that all the demonic energy was under the control of Ya Feiyu, and he couldn't summon even a trace of it. Ya Feiyu raised his hand, and the demonic energy, as if it had a mind of its own, swarmed up, surrounded the boy, grabbed him, and lifted him into the air.
"This person will be handled by your Sea Palace."
Ya Feiyu turned to look at the astonished people from the Sea Palace, her expression indifferent: "I don't want to return to the Qinglian Sect with such a burden."
"boom!!!"
He tossed the boy aside, and the boy fell heavily to the ground, barely alive.
In this way, the demonic energy in the city was withdrawn by Ya Feiyu. Although the main city was still in chaos and suffered heavy casualties, at least it survived the calamity.
The crimson light faded from the sky, and the turbulent sea returned to calm. The survivors rebuilt their homes. Ya Feiyu, whose cultivation had not yet fully recovered, stayed at the Sea Palace for a few weeks, where he provided considerable assistance. The people of the Sea Palace wisely concealed the fact that Ya Feiyu could control demonic energy, and things remained relatively harmonious.
Ya Feiyou volunteered to help guard the Golden Lotus Tree, and Lloyd naturally didn't refuse, so he let her go.
Everything seemed to have settled down. After recovering, Lloyd immediately sought out Ya Feiyu. They were old acquaintances, so there was no need for formalities. Lloyd stroked his beard and chuckled, "Speaking of which, why did you come to the Sea Palace?"
At the time, Ya Feiyu never mentioned his reason for coming to the Sea Palace. After so many things happened, if Lloyd hadn't specifically brought it up, they probably would have forgotten about it.
Ya Feiyu blinked: "I have a disciple whose golden core has been depleted. I remember you have a solution here..."
Upon hearing this, Lloyd immediately perked up: "You should have said so earlier! I've refined quite a few medicines in this area before."
He paused, then slumped down again: "But with the demonic cultivators causing so much destruction, I'm afraid these medicines are gone forever."
Ya Feiyu shook his head: "No need. It would be great if I could have the secret manual."
Lloyd was naturally exceptionally generous to the Sea Palace's savior, and with a wave of his hand, he gave the Sea Palace's secret manual to Ya Feiyu, along with a number of elixirs and medicines, telling them to go back and take good care of themselves. Ya Feiyu accepted them all without hesitation.
They came empty-handed, but left laden with treasures. Ye Chi silently watched Ya Feiyu ahead, thinking, "My master's charm is truly extraordinary."
