It's unclear what words touched a nerve with the man, but Wei Zhaoye's voice suddenly turned several degrees colder: "Qin Xiaoxie, if you want me to let you go, come and beg me yourself."
After saying that, Wei Zhaoye hung up the phone.
Bi Xie stared blankly for a long time, completely bewildered, before finally falling into a deep sleep.

When Jiang Han saw the man in the expensive suit walk in, her smile froze on her face. She exchanged a glance with Bi Xie, their eyes conveying a sense of doubt.
When Wei Zhaoye saw that look, it became a tender expression of affection.
The man's expression darkened.
Wei Danmei stood up with a smile and took Wei Zhaoye's arm: "Ah Ye is here, come and sit down. All the dishes are served, we've been waiting for you. You know Xiao Xie too, so I won't introduce him."
The meal ended amidst everyone's own thoughts. Wei Danmei's smile never faded; she kept praising Bi Xie's abilities, saying he could reform Jiang Han. She even offered to give Bi Xie a set of valuable jewelry, which Bi Xie politely declined.
At Bi Xie's prompting, Jiang Han reluctantly clarified the relationship between him and her. Wei Danmei was still half-believing and half-doubting, and said to Bi Xie with a smile, "Xiao Xie, you are a good child, and Auntie likes you very much. Even if there is something between you and Xiao Han, Auntie will not object, as long as it does not interfere with your studies."
Before Bi Xie could explain anything, Wei Zhaoye suddenly kicked away his chair and stood up.
Wei Danmei was taken aback.
Jiang Han also looked at Wei Zhaoye in surprise. He knew his cousin's personality; he was dignified and restrained, and rarely made such a loud noise while eating.
"Qin Xiaoxie, don't you have anything to explain?" Wei Zhaoye's sharp gaze fell on Bi Xie's face.
Bi Xie felt the gazes cast by Wei Danmei and Jiang Han and was a little confused. He was a beat slow to speak before saying, "Auntie, Jiang and I are really just classmates. We are still studying and I don't plan to date during our school years."
After saying that, Bi Xie secretly glanced at Wei Zhaoye.
The man's eyes were as deep as the sea, his calm, still eyes showing no emotion whatsoever.
Bi Xie wasn't sure if her explanation was right, but Wei Danmei, seeing her serious expression, clearly believed her somewhat and gave an awkward smile. "It was all Xiao Han's nonsense, Xiao Xie. If Xiao Han ever drags you into doing this again, tell Auntie, and Auntie will teach him a lesson for you!"
Bi Xie nodded: "Thank you, Auntie."
"Anything else?" Just as the atmosphere relaxed, Wei Zhaoye's voice rang out again, unhurriedly, "Didn't you ask me for something? I'm right here."
Upon hearing this, Jiang Han and Wei Danmei both turned to look at Bi Xie.
Bi Xie's face flushed red instantly; she hadn't expected Wei Zhaoye to bring that up at this moment.
"Xiao Xie, do you need A Ye's help?" Wei Danmei asked Bi Xie.
Jiang Han, always eager for drama, chimed in: "Qin Xiaoxie, what do you want from my cousin? To find him a new job?"
Bi Xie's face froze for a moment. She hadn't expected Wei Zhaoye to make her beg him to let her go in front of everyone. If she were to expose his secret of being sick now, she wouldn't have to be sent to a mental hospital; she might have died on the spot.
After twitching his lips several times, Bi Xie finally managed a dejected smile. He took a few steps toward Wei Zhaoye, and out of Jiang Han and Wei Danmei's sight, he tugged at Wei Zhaoye's sleeve with his small hand, pleading with a smile, "Mr. Wei, can we talk alone?"
Wei Zhaoye stared at her intently for a few moments, then bid farewell to Wei Danmei and walked out of the restaurant.
