Chapter Seventeen: Human Hearts Can Beat

The hall was quiet. Bi Xie felt his heart had never been beating so fast. He wondered if the man on the Rose Throne could understand his cheesy, sentimental speech that even he himself wanted to die on the spot.

As it turned out, the man probably understood. His indifferent and gloomy eyes stared straight at Bi Xie as he slowly rose from his throne and walked towards Bi Xie.

The finest silk fabric swayed gently with the man's elegant and slow steps, like a rose just beginning to bloom, exquisite and beautiful.

Bi Xie had to admit that this vampire's handsomeness was enough to arouse the jealousy of the heavens. Like the ghost cultivator Zhanbingjiu who came out of the coffin, he was a poisonous poppy. As long as they were willing to smile, there would always be humans willing to offer their necks for slaughter.

A cold hand pressed against Bi Xie's chest, feeling the woman's pounding heartbeat. A flicker of emotion crossed his silver eyes. "Your heart can beat."

“Human hearts beat, and they are the warmest place,” Bi Xie said, revealing a smile that looked more like a grimace, his two red eyes, as red as walnuts, somewhat comical.

The next moment, her tears were wiped away by the man's cold fingertips. Whether it was an illusion or not, Bi Xie actually saw a faint sadness and desolation in Zang's indifferent pupils.

Inside the hall, everyone waited for Zang to speak. Faced with absolute power, Remilia and Blake could only stare intently at Bi Xie, but dared not overstep their bounds.

Bi Xie stared blankly at Zang, who was looking at her tears, then closed her eyes, reached out and hugged the man. Her warm breath brushed against his throat, and she stammered, "Is it...warm?"

"Bold human! Release your master!" After a moment of stunned silence, Remilia glared angrily at Bi Xie. None of the vampires in the hall had realized that Bi Xie would be so bold!

When humans see their master, their gaze is either one of infatuation or fear. Before learning the master's identity, they are infatuated with the master's godlike handsome appearance; after learning that the master is a vampire, they are filled with fear.

Bi Xie's unpredictable behavior left the vampires somewhat bewildered.

Bi Xie tightened his grip on her arm, and seeing that Zang hadn't thrown her off, he boldly leaned close to Zang's ear and breathed hot air into her ear, "How is it? Is it warm?"

Remi Lily stomped her foot in anger and tried to pull Bi Xie off Zang's body, but Blake grabbed her wrist.

“I can provide you with blood every day, but I’m afraid of pain. Can I not use a knife or dagger? You can just bite it, and after you finish drinking it, lick my wounds for me?” Bi Xie said carefully, word by word, his breath making the man’s fair neck slightly itchy.

Zang tilted his head slightly, lowered his eyes, and reflected Bi Xie's face in his silver pupils: "Okay."

With that final decision, Bi Xie never returned to that iron cage and became Zang's exclusive blood servant.

Mayas was not lying; Zang did not eat much, about two bowls of blood per meal, but only once a day.

A few days passed in the blink of an eye, and Bi Xie had a general understanding of Zang's daily routine. He would sleep until the sun was high in the sky, drink blood, meditate in the palace for one or two hours, and then fall asleep again.

Bi Xie, whose life was monotonous and dull, could not bear to look at it.

Even his direct subordinates cannot freely enter the burial chamber, but because Bi Xie needs to bleed a lot every day and requires human food to replenish his body, Mayas and Remilia would enter the chamber every day to bring food to Bi Xie.

On this day, only Mayas came to deliver food.

Bi Xie asked in surprise why Remilia hadn't come. Mayas said that Zang had assigned them a task, but didn't say anything more.
