Shi Yun rushed back to the laboratory where Yin Ming was. As he passed by the window, he could vaguely see through the specially made semi-transparent glass that several staff members in the laboratory were forcibly pressing a thin figure onto a white single bed.
The slender figure was shouting something hoarsely, and the scene looked chaotic.
Shi Yun was immediately startled and quickened his pace as he entered the laboratory.
"I'm so sorry everyone, it's all a misunderstanding. He just woke up and his mental state is still a bit unstable. I'm sorry for the trouble."
Shi Yun stepped forward and pushed away the staff members surrounding Yin Ming. He then raised his hand and patted the hands of two of the staff members who were holding Yin Ming's arms, signaling them to let go.
The two staff members exchanged a glance, hesitated for a moment, and ultimately chose to believe Shi Yun.
Unexpectedly, once Yin Ming was no longer restrained, he immediately stood up and rushed toward the confidential filing cabinet next to him.
Seeing this, the surrounding staff were all ready to step forward and capture him again. Fortunately, Shi Yun saw that the situation was not right and took the initiative to pull Yin Ming back, which stabilized the situation again.
"How long are you going to keep making a scene? Do you really enjoy being laughed at like this?!"
Shi Yun wrapped his arms tightly around Yin Ming from behind, and it took a lot of effort to restrain his movements.
"They're going to take Ayao away..."
Yin Ming's suppressed sob came from in front of him, and Shi Yun was taken aback. "Who is A Yao?"
Before Yin Ming could respond, the staff members, as if they didn't want to linger any longer, said in a cold tone, "Sorry, we are just following procedures to retrieve the experimental equipment. Please cooperate with our work, sir."
As the staff approached the secure filing cabinet again, Yin Ming seemed to have been suddenly triggered and began to struggle frantically once more.
"No! Don't let them take Ayao away! Xiaoyun, please help me, help me... help me stop them!"
Yin Ming's voice was hoarse and choked with sobs. Shi Yun could clearly feel his sadness, but he still frowned in distress.
Could the 'A-Yao' that Yin Ming mentioned be the confidential filing cabinet?
But... those things originally belonged to them, they have no reason to take them.
"Sir, please be rational. The VR world is nothing more than a glamorous dream. Our original intention in creating this world was to allow everyone to experience the joy of traveling in another world and the novelty and pleasure of playing different roles. If you become addicted to it, then it goes against our original intention."
With Shi Yun blocking their way, the staff finally managed to retrieve the confidential document cabinet.
Unable to move, Yin Ming was extremely anxious. He desperately reached out towards the filing cabinet, his eyes bloodshot, and his voice pleading.
"Anything is fine, please give him back to me! I beg you... If it's a dream, let me be trapped in it, it doesn't matter if I can't wake up!"
"Ah Ming, calm down!" Seeing Yin Ming becoming increasingly frantic, Shi Yun had no choice but to increase the force in his hands to prevent him from breaking free.
Whether it was because Shi Yun's hand around his waist was too tight or for some other reason, Yin Ming suddenly felt a dull pain in his abdomen.
But Yin Ming couldn't care less about the pain right now. He only had one thought in his mind—he couldn't let them leave with the confidential filing cabinet! No one could take his A Yao away!
But before he could do anything, a familiar voice suddenly came from outside the door.
So familiar with it that it caused Yin Ming's brain to freeze on the spot.
"What happened?"
Upon hearing this voice, Yin Ming miraculously fell silent.
Shi Yun naturally sensed Yin Ming's change, but he feared that this was just a delaying tactic by Yin Ming to lower his guard so that he could launch a surprise attack. Therefore, he could only continue to guard against him and keep him locked in his arms.
After the two of them quieted down, the conversation outside the door became clearer.
"Dr. Ling, the participants in this lab are not cooperating with our work."
"Okay, I understand. Leave this to me. You can go do your other work."
As soon as he finished speaking, the laboratory door was pushed open from the outside in.
Yin Ming was so nervous that he dared not breathe. He just stared blankly at the white-robed man who walked into the laboratory. His dead heart seemed to come back to life in that instant.
It seems that people are always like this; they only realize how rich they were after they've lost something.
Seeing that face again now, Yin Ming instantly felt the sensation of something lost and then regained.
Suddenly, tears streamed down my face.
"Ah Yao, I thought... I would never see you again."
It's unclear where the strength came from, but Yin Ming quickly broke free from Shi Yun's grasp and plunged into the white-robed man's arms.
At first, Yin Ming was simply moved by everything Ling Yao had done and decided to give him a chance.
Yin Ming did not deny that he had feelings for Ling Yao, but he always felt that it was just a superficial and shallow liking.
I simply like his face and all his physical attributes.
But when he realized that he might never see Lingyao again, Yin Ming realized he was wrong.
He must love Lingyao.
That's why he became so hysterical when, half-asleep, he realized that these strangers were going to take away the only device that allowed him to connect with Lingyao.
Do you need a reason to love someone?
It is necessary, and it is not necessary.
It might have started simply because he's good-looking, or because he dresses well, or even because one of his unintentional little expressions or gestures is cute, and that's when people started to take a liking to him.
Then, through daily interactions, I discovered more of his admirable qualities.
Small acts of affection accumulate, and under the incredible catalysis of time, quantitative change leads to qualitative change.
After a gradual and subtle influence, looking back, you might even surprise yourself.
He doesn't seem to be anything particularly good, but I just can't live without him for the rest of my life.
As the ancients said, love arises without knowing its origin, and deepens with each passing moment.
