The room was silent. Lan Yu spread the injection on her palm and asked Mrs. Wang, "Do you know what this is?"
Mrs. Wang turned pale and shook her head.
"This is the K5 developed for the Lunt people—"
"HR5." Lu Rankong interjected.
Lan Yu sneered: "You may have heard of this KR5. It's easy to find out whether it is a Longte star. Just give it a shot and you'll know."
Lu Rankong wanted to say something but then closed his mouth.
Lan Yu raised her hand and pointed the sharp needle tip at Mrs. Wang's neck.
At this moment, Mrs. Wang suddenly moved quickly, and the next second, Wang Wei was strangled by the neck, with a dagger against his throat.
"Let me go, or you'll kill him." There was an extra line in her voice, hoarse and unpleasant, as if two people were speaking at the same time.
Wang Wei's lips trembled: "Li Han, you, you are not Li Han, what did you do to Li Han?"
“Shut up…” Mrs. Wang extended her hand forward, and a dark red line flowed down his neck.
Lu Rankong raised his gun and aimed: "She is no longer your wife. She is the Lonte we are looking for."
Wang Wei's face was pale and his lips were trembling. He was much taller than Mrs. Wang, but he was strangled by the neck and could not break free. He could only retreat to the window with her.
Lan Yu stared closely at Mrs. Wang's movements, holding the injection in her palm, and slowly moved towards the door with Lu Rankong.
Mrs. Wang stood by the open carved mahogany window, smiling sweetly, with an indescribable strangeness in her expression.
She opened her mouth and two voices rang out at the same time: "Colonel K, Colonel Lu, we will never meet again."
As soon as she finished speaking, a human-shaped green shadow emerged from her body. It was translucent and drilled out of the window like a wisp of smoke. It solidified as it ran and turned into a green-skinned person.
Mrs. Wang closed her eyes and fell to the ground lifelessly.
Lan Yu and Lu Rankong rushed out of the gate right after him, just in time to see the green-skinned man slip out of the iron gate of the villa.
Red lights were flashing outside the villa, and a cordon had been set up. Seven or eight policemen were surrounding the corpse of the Insect King on the stone railing on the right, and two people in charge of taking notes were standing at the gate.
Just as Lu Rankong pointed his gun forward, the green man stopped in front of one of the policemen. Before he could react, it pounced on him and disappeared into the air turning into smoke.
The policeman trembled and covered his head with his hands, and the record folder fell to the ground with a thud.
Seeing that the Longte alien had entered his spiritual realm, Lu Rankong did not dare to shoot.
"K." he yelled.
"I know..." Lan Yu flashed past him holding the injection and rushed over.
At the same time, the policeman stopped convulsing and rushed forward quickly. It was obvious that he was caught off guard and the Lonte people had taken control of his body.
A peripheral policeman sat under the fence of the villa area, leaning against a half-height landscape stone, smoking while looking at the alley outside the iron fence.
Just as I put the cigarette holder to my lips, I heard footsteps coming from the tree-lined avenue in the direction of the villa.
He turned around and saw a colleague who was in charge of taking notes running towards him at an unimaginable speed. He was in front of him in the blink of an eye.
The colleague had a blank expression on his face, as if he didn't see anyone here. He stepped one foot on the scenic stone beside him, stepped the other foot over his head, landed in the alley outside the fence with a plop, and then ran forward at a high speed.
The police outside were stunned and hadn't reacted yet when they heard the sound of running again coming from the end of the boulevard.
Two handsome soldiers in field uniforms also rushed towards him, took turns jumping over his head, and landed outside the fence as easily as two rocs.
Without looking back, they chased after their colleague, one of them still holding a gun in his hand.
The cigarette in the mouth of the outer policeman fell to the ground with a plop.
"I gave you the injection. You could have given it to the little girl when she was crying, but you were still wasting time." Lu Rankong complained to the person beside him while running.
Lan Yu kept walking and argued, "You said that if there is no Longte in the body, the person will die if I stab him. How dare I stab him just because of a few words from a little girl? What if I am wrong?"
The alley was narrow and two slow-moving pedestrians were blocking the road.
"Excuse me!" Lu Rankong shouted, and then he passed between the two people, and continued: "What about the five needle handcuffs and five needle pear blossoms behind you? You should be stabbed when you can't answer. And you raised it slowly, like a slow motion, are you filming a movie?"
Lan Yu followed closely behind him and retorted coldly: "First, human life is at stake, I don't want to make a mistake. Second, it's five needle chains and two needles of osmanthus."
There were several empty baskets piled in the shadow of the alley ahead. Lu Rankong could have jumped over them directly, but he turned his head to glance at the shadow of the person behind him and kicked the baskets away.
As he ran, he kept saying, "Colonel K, you actually know that human life is at stake? Strange..."
Lan Yu retorted, "You're too kind. It's still a little worse than you aiming for a long time but not daring to shoot."
"I was afraid of hurting someone by mistake."
"I'm not afraid anymore?" Lan Yu crawled over a bamboo pole where bed sheets were hung to dry.
"You were not decisive enough at the beginning. You hesitated and missed the best opportunity."
"If you want to be decisive, why don't you go up?"
A bicycle fell to the ground, and Lu Rankong suddenly stretched out his hand to block Lan Yu who was rushing forward. After both of them jumped over, they said, "Didn't I give the injection to you? It's because I trust you too much."
"If you were to come, could you catch him?"
"Okay, okay, I won't argue with you."
"Who wants to argue with you?"
Both of them shut their mouths and chased forward in silence.
The alley was not long and there was a main street outside. The policeman always kept a distance of several dozen meters from them and turned right after rushing out.
Lan Yu and the other person also rushed out of the alley and came to the street.
The street was remote, and although it was only ten o'clock in the evening, there were few pedestrians. The shops on both sides were closed, and the glass doors of the Yaga were locked.
The hurried footsteps of three people broke the silence, and soon they ran across two streets.
A simple bus stop appeared in front of the right. One of the two light boxes was dark, and the advertising girl on the other one was smiling and holding some brand of inhibitor.
As soon as the Longte alien ran to the light box, he stopped and staggered two steps. Then, his body began to shake violently as if he had the hiccups, and he walked forward with his hands and feet together, which looked very strange.
"The policeman is starting to fight back, fighting for ownership of his body." Lu Rankong asked anxiously: "Is the injection ready?"
"I'm ready..."
Just then, a bus stopped next to the light box and the door slammed open.
The two watched helplessly as a green shadow separated from the policeman and silently flashed into the car.
The bus driver looked to the side and saw that there was no one else on the platform. He glanced in the rearview mirror and saw that all the passengers were drowsy, so he closed the door.
As the bus slowly started to move away, the policeman who was standing behind the light box with his head down suddenly felt his body go limp and he fell backwards.
Lu Rankong, who had caught up with him, grabbed him and dragged him to the light box, letting him sit on the ground. Lan Yu just brushed past them and chased the bus that was driving away.
The bus gradually accelerated, and Lan Yu ran quickly behind it, swinging her arms rhythmically.
The wind blew past his ears with a whistling sound, and the blood vessels on his forehead throbbed.
As the bus was about to exit the street, he pulled out his gun and pointed it at the driver's side mirror.
He took aim and then retracted it, turned on the terminal on his wrist, adjusted the strong high beam, and flashed it frequency towards the rearview mirror.
One, two, three times.
Finally, the bus slowed down and stopped by the roadside.
Lan Yu rushed forward and showed his officer ID to the driver beside the car window: "Colonel K of the Second Mecha Battalion of the Katah Star Force needs to board the car for inspection. Please cooperate."
The driver opened the front door without saying a word. Lan Yu rushed forward the moment the door opened and blocked the door.
He slowly scanned the interior of the car.
The green shadow disappeared as expected, and the carriage was empty, with only five passengers sitting sparsely.
Judging from their age and attire, they were an old man, two students, a strong man, and a middle-aged woman.
Seeing that they were all looking at her nervously and fearfully, with the same expression, Lan Yu knew that the green-skinned man had possessed one of them and temporarily took control of the body.
Lu Rankong also rushed over at this time, and Lan Yu took a step forward and left the car door open.
After he got in the car, Lan Yu turned to the driver and said, "Drive the car to the brightest spot in front and turn on all the lights in the car. Close the door tightly. I won't let you open it. No matter what happens, you are not allowed to open the door."
The driver had obviously heard of K. Without asking any questions, he immediately turned on all the lights in the car, started the vehicle and drove under the street light.
"Don't panic, we are just looking for a fugitive. Once we find him, you can go home." Lu Rankong explained.
He and Lan Yu stood on either side of the front of the car, their hawk-like gazes passing across everyone's face.
Two omega students in school uniforms were hugging each other with their school bags. The middle-aged woman in the floral skirt wanted to ask but didn't dare to open her mouth, so she simply lowered her head to look at her feet.
The old man was about to speak, but when he met Lan Yu's gaze, he closed his mouth again. Only the burly man with tattoos on his arms and wearing a short-sleeved shirt and shorts was looking around nervously and excitedly.
Lan Yu looked at Lu Rankong with a questioning expression, then stretched out her left hand, slowly closed her fingers and held it.
——How do I review this? Even if we find out their origins, we don't know if it's true. Why not take them all to the police station?
Lu Rankong crossed his arms across his chest and shook his head with a sullen face.
——What are you thinking about? Still want to kill the whole car? How can it be so brutal?
Then he looked out the rear window and signaled with his eyes to the policeman who was still unconscious near the station.
——Just take them all to the police station and retrieve the information there to verify each one. If they leave them here, we won’t be able to find out anything.
Lan Yu nodded to show that she understood, and then coldly ordered the driver: "Back up and go to the starting bus stop immediately. I will check you there."
