Chapter 122
Since being brought back by Dwight, Lena has never seen anyone else, except when Dwight brought the doctor. But even the doctor wouldn't allow Lena to talk to him. That damned Dwight, if I hadn't known he would become a traitor, I would have thought he was a dog. Even Hachiko, the loyal dog, couldn't have been as loyal to her.
Even if Lina was furious, there was nothing she could do. She didn't dare risk Daryl and Alexander.
After changing the dressing today, Dwight, who was about to lock the door, couldn't resist saying to Lina with a mischievous grin, "They say Lucille is eating well in Alexandria."
Not expecting any response from Lena, Dwight quickly closed the door, leaving only an angry Lena inside, letting out a series of audible roars.
Negan, who was just passing by and wanted to chat with Lena, glanced at Dwight and asked, "What are you doing?"
And what happened to this bastard's swearing repertoire? She can even speak such vulgar street slang so badly! Wait, Rick doesn't seem like that kind of person. Who did she learn all this from?
“I just told her you were back.” Dwight hadn’t expected Negan to come to her first upon his return. A thought secretly crossed his mind: since she treated Negan differently… Dwight quickly lowered his head, not daring to think any further.
“I’ll come back tomorrow. I have to go fuck my wives,” Negan winked and gave Dwight a mocking look. “I bet tonight will be a great night. I’ll fuck them all. That’s life. Sorry, D, I shouldn’t have said that in front of you.” Negan patted Dwight’s shoulder cheekily, stared at him coldly, and quickly left through the door.
He wasn't worried at all that Lena would be tricked by that kid Dwight. Negan scoffed; that guy's superhuman strength was a trump card.
Lina was oblivious to the chaos outside; she was simply consumed by rage and ranting with great gusto. She was incredibly frustrated and needed to vent her anger. The saddest part was that this was all she could do right now.
She had no watch and no sense of time; all she knew was that by the end, her voice was hoarse from yelling. Dwight calmly knocked on the door. "Here's some water." The door opened a crack, and a bottle of mineral water was handed in. Lena was so angry she almost laughed. She snatched the bottle, squeezed her hand through the crack in the door, and gave Dwight the middle finger.
Dwight coldly pushed her hand in and locked the door again.
So how did that taciturn guy end up with this powder keg? Are they complementary? Dwight leaned against the wall and lit a cigarette.
Within three seconds, the door was kicked open. "Stop inhaling secondhand smoke! Are you going to take responsibility if you get lung cancer? Get out of here and smoke somewhere else!"
Dwight pursed his lips. How pretentious, there's such a door between us! But he still moved to the side; he was really tired and wanted some peace and quiet.
I wonder how everyone in Alexander is doing? Lena didn't dare ask Dwight who Negan killed; she pretended not to know so she wouldn't be sad.
Actually, she didn't, but she really didn't dare to ask.
Lina drifted off to sleep by the bedside, only to be woken by the sound of Dwight opening the door when he came to deliver brunch.
"Eat up." Dwight gave Lina a strange look, put the plate on the ground, and immediately went out to lock the door, all in one smooth motion.
Lina was stunned for a moment, then walked to the door and picked up a plate containing vegetables, fruits, rice, and canned fish.
Those bastards have really good food.
Lina sat cross-legged on the ground, indignant, picked up a fork and started eating, wishing she could eat the Saviors with every bite.
However, before she had finished her meal, the door opened, and Lina looked up to see Negan.
"...Tsk, there's a table and chairs, are you a savage?" Negan slammed the door shut.
"Mind your own business!" Lina rolled her eyes and continued stuffing food into her mouth.
Alexander has some basic vegetables, but rice? Well, she hasn't seen it in ages! And don't even mention fruit.
Although she didn't show it on her face, Lina was already in tears inside. She really wanted to rob the Salvation Army of this food!
Negan sat on a chair to the side, quietly watching Lena eat. She finished her food completely, and it seemed that if he hadn't been there, Lena would have licked the plate clean.
Lena had no idea what Negan was thinking, but if she did, she would definitely accuse him of slander!
I've never seen her eat so well before, this picky eater. Negan sat up, then crossed his legs. "Sit down, let's talk."
"...If you weren't planning to disband the Salvation Army, then we have nothing to talk about." Lina turned away angrily.
“Then I can let Lucille and Daryl’s heads talk first,” Negan said lazily.
"...You old bastard!"
"You little rascal!"
Lena stood up angrily and sat opposite Negan, arms crossed, looking at him. "Speak!"
Negan tilted his head. "I still like you the way you are, like nothing has changed, but the next second you'll be jumping on my neck and pulling my hair."
When talking about her childhood, Lena showed no remorse whatsoever, only regretting that she hadn't managed to rip off Negan back then, and that he would still be able to act so arrogant now that he's bald.
“But you’d better remember one thing,” Negan said, lowering his leg and looking at Lena. “Things aren’t like they used to be.”
"Stop your whining! I don't care about you. Either you smash my head in, or this is my attitude. What are you going to do about it? You don't like it? Go ahead and kill me!" Lina retorted defiantly, glaring at Negan.
Negan rubbed the soft flesh on the inside of his cheek and gritted his teeth in resentment. He really hadn't been this angry in years!
Negan jumped up and slapped Lena on the head. "You dog! Can't you be a good girl?"
"You're the leader of the bad guys, how dare you talk about me like that? I'm not like you, acting like a pervert, waving a baseball bat around scaring people. Are you a chuunibyou?" Lina shouted, covering her head.
"..." Negan gritted his teeth and forced a smile. He couldn't win, couldn't use a gun, and locked him in a dark room? No way! ...FU%CK!
Seeing Negan's dark expression, Lina pouted and awkwardly said to Negan, "Give Daryl back to me."
He was even angrier! Negan couldn't even maintain his fake smile anymore, "...Don't even think about it!"
"What are you doing! That's my husband! What? Don't you have your own husband?" Lina shouted, her eyes wide.
“…I wouldn’t take it even if you gave it to me for free!” Negan couldn’t help but shout, “Don’t even think about it!”
"Then send him back to Alexandria!" Lina shouted, her voice a little loud. Her throat, which had been sore from shouting yesterday, started hurting again, and Lina rubbed her neck.
“…Do you think I’m stupid?” Negan took a deep breath. “Your taste in men is absolutely terrible! But…”
“Yes, yes, yes, my taste in men is terrible! I should have…” Lina stopped talking as she thought of Lucille (the human one).
Negan paused for a moment, looking at Lena's expression, and he knew who the heroine in her unfinished words was.
“…She quit. She couldn’t go on.” Negan said calmly as he sat back down in his chair. “I went to get her medication. And what happened to her? She committed suicide. How stupid of her.”
“Don’t say such stupid things, you know why she did it,” Lina said.
“No,” Negan clenched his fist angrily, “she’s a coward.”
“…She loves you,” Lina said.
“…” Negan clasped his hands together against his forehead, took a few deep breaths, and finally calmed down. “It’s all over now.”
Lina rolled her eyes. "Go to hell," she thought, "look at him."
“Now that I’ve found you,” Negan stared intently at Lina, “you have to stay here and behave yourself.”
"Are you crazy?" Lina crossed her arms in horror, looking at Negan. "Get this straight, I have a husband!"
Negan's forehead veins throbbed. "While I am indeed quite interested in other people's wives, screw you. I'm not a pedophile!" He gave Lena a disgruntled look. "Speaking of which, that guy..."
“I forced myself on him, and he had no choice but to submit to me,” Lina said quickly.
Negan was speechless for a moment, but he didn't doubt what Lena said; that damned strength wasn't impossible.
"No, why...?" Negan began to question the meaning of life. "He doesn't even look like your dad."
"You're the one with the Oedipus complex!" Lina yelled.
"What exactly did he give you? A sleeping potion?" Negan asked suspiciously. That guy didn't look like the type to pick up girls; he was a coward who wouldn't say a word, but he was definitely a reliable soldier. You could tell he was very capable just by looking at him, although he was also a bit foolish and emotional.
“…A deer? Uh, two? And a bunch of squirrels?” Lina said.
Negan froze, staring blankly at Lina. "You must be joking with me, right?"
“To be honest,” Lina shrugged, “but not entirely. There’s also fish and nuts, and oh, chocolate bars!”
Negan watched as Lina actually started to recall things, then helplessly covered his face, “…” What kind of fallen doll was she who was taken in by a stray fat orange cat?
“In short,” Negan wiped his face and looked at Lina, “I want you to join the Salvation Army, no, I want you to join me.”
Lena blinked and looked at Negan seriously. "I want you to join me."
“No discussion,” Negan said.
“Me too,” Lina insisted.
“Then I’ll go clear out Alexandria,” Negan said.
"Then prepare a coffin for me. If that's not possible, burning it is fine too. If you have no sentimentality at all, just throw it at the door to feed the zombies," Lina said after thinking for a moment.
“Then I’ll take you… I’ll take that Daryl.” Negan said through gritted teeth.
“First of all, I don’t think any of you have this skill. Secondly, what you’re doing is really tasteless. Finally, thank you for bringing us together,” Lina said earnestly.
“…” Negan looked at Lina in silence.
Lena sat in her chair, looking at Negan with an indifferent "whatever" attitude.
Negan's face darkened. "You think I wouldn't dare? You think I wouldn't? You think you're that important to me? That I'd break the rules here for you?"
Lena looked at Negan with suspicion, "Are you really that bad? You're not even the rules? Then you're a terrible leader."
Negan stormed out, his face ashen, slamming the door behind him. Dwight was startled and instinctively knelt down.
“Let’s go, we’re going to the entrance,” Negan said through gritted teeth. “Also, you don’t need to keep an eye on her anymore. Throw her downstairs to work!”
Dwight paused for a moment, then said, "Okay." Really? Sending her down there... Negan really would do that?
"...Don't let anyone mess with her, you understand?" Negan suddenly said seriously.
Oh, so it's actually a real job? Dwight nodded seriously. Well, the second-generation factory owner has gone to work in the factory.
