Chapter 134

Chapter 134

Early in the morning, Lina and Daryl packed their things and headed to the outside of the Church of the Saviour. Tara, seeing Daryl and the others going to the Church of the Saviour, wanted to go with them.

She hadn't forgotten what the ruthless Salvation Army had done to the seaside hotel. That was where she and Heath had ended up after getting separated while collecting supplies. They had also encountered the Salvation Army; all the men, even the children, had been killed, leaving only the women.

They managed to escape from the Salvation Army and hid in that seaside hotel.

Even though she had promised the people at the seaside hotel that she wouldn't mention it, she still betrayed them and stole their guns in order to fight against the Salvation Army.

However, if the Saviors were eliminated, Tara would feel better and would have done right by them.

And then there's Denise. Dwight's crossbow bolt almost killed her before, and Tara wasn't so easygoing as to take it lightly. She harbored thoughts of revenge, but now it seems that keeping Dwight around is more useful.

So Tara quickly caught up with Lina and Daryl, who were hurrying along, and stated her intentions directly: "I'll go with you."

That didn't matter, and Daryl didn't refuse, so he invited Tara to get in the car with him. However, not long after the three of them left, Michonne and Rosita also drove away from Alexandria. Everyone was a little worried about the Church of the Saviors, and Michonne was even more worried about Rick, who hadn't returned home all night. After checking the area around the Church of the Saviors, she planned to go to the junkyard with Rosita to look for Rick.

Upon arriving near the Church of Salvation, Daryl first went to the watchtower. The people on it quickly climbed down, their expressions not good. "My radio isn't transmitting a signal for some reason," said Leo from Hilltop Village, who had been in charge of surveillance recently. "Moore said he was going on patrol last night, and then he never came back. And Sasha, we don't know where she is either. The agreed-upon signal isn't working."

Lina's face turned pale immediately. Could it be that she really had a bad reputation?

“I’ll go find it. You keep watch and keep a close eye on the Saviour’s Church,” Daryl said hurriedly, then grabbed his crossbow and followed the direction Leo had pointed in where Moore had left the previous night.

“I’ll go too,” Lina said, looking at Tara. Tara pulled out her gun. “Go ahead, I’ll stay here and keep watch with him.” Tara’s expression was serious. Whether the people inside had escaped or there were still restless remnants outside, she couldn’t just leave Leo here.

"Watch out!" Lina glanced at Daryl's retreating figure. He was moving very fast, and if she didn't chase after him soon, it would be too late. So, without saying anything to Tara, she quickly followed after him.

Following Daryl forward, through an abandoned factory and ruins, they reached the edge of a grove of trees. Daryl squatted down and picked up some soil with his hands. Lena leaned over to take a look. She couldn't say for sure about anything else, but she could still see the footprints of the two people.

One goes in, one goes out.

"He'll be alright," Lina comforted him, "Moore's an unkillable cockroach!"

“Yes,” Daryl felt a sense of unease. He got up and continued deeper into the woods. The two of them cautiously crept through the forest. The woods were very quiet, with only the rustling of leaves in the wind. There were almost no sounds of walkers. Following the footprints, Daryl soon came to a tree. There were bloody ropes on the trunk, and a mangled corpse at the bottom. There were also two or three walker corpses lying around it.

Daryl carefully examined the rope on the tree, picked up a piece of cloth from Moore's clothes, and turned over the body underneath. He couldn't tell if it was Moore, because it was just a lower body, and there was a gun under it—Moore's gun.

So much blood, all relatively fresh, meant that even if Daryl didn't want to admit it, he had to face the fact that Moore was very likely already dead.

Daryl picked up Moore's gun and put it away. He pursed his lips, his eyes filled with rage. He looked at the bloodstains on the ground and continued to track deeper into the area. Even if it meant death, he had to see Moore's body.

Lena didn't say anything, but she probably sensed that Sean might have done it, which made her feel guilty.

So, was Sasha also kidnapped by Sean?

They hadn't gone far when things seemed to get worse. Daryl spotted Moore's hand—his knife. Normally, Moore would keep it securely tied to his severed wrist; it wouldn't have fallen to the ground so easily.

Daryl was like a seasoned hunting dog, keeping track of the clues all the way until they reached a building.

There was a familiar car parked outside; it was Alexander's car.

Daryl and Lina looked at each other, wondering what was going on.

“I’ll go in and check, you stay outside and keep watch,” Lina said.

“No, we’ll go in together,” Daryl objected. He wasn’t about to let Lina go into danger by herself.

“We can’t all get caught up in this,” Lina frowned, her eyes full of reproach as she looked at Daryl. How could such a grown man be so inconsiderate!

“…” Daryl’s lips turned down, clearly sensing that he was being rejected. “Then I’ll go in.”

“…Okay,” Lina didn’t argue, it didn’t matter which of them went in anyway, “better safe than sorry.”

Daryl nodded, and Lina circled around twice. Alexander's car was at the door. Lina thought for a moment, got into the car, drove it a little further away to use as cover, and set up her gun facing the door.

Time ticked by, and Lina was starting to feel like rushing in herself when a car suddenly sped out. Then Lina saw Daryl, Michonne, and Rosita chasing after them.

Without thinking, Lina pulled open the car door and rammed into the car.

She wasn't stupid. If a small car were to crash directly into a medium-sized truck, she would definitely be the one in the worst shape. So, just to force it to stop, she decided to crash into it from the side in one go.

Lena floored the accelerator, jumped out of the car, rolled twice on the ground, then picked up her gun and started firing at the truck.

That's when she noticed what was behind the car: a stereo.

They tried to lure away the zombies from the Church of Saviour, but thankfully they stopped them.

Daryl ran over and helped Lina up, then, carrying a crossbow, carefully circled around to the cab of the truck and deftly fired two more arrows.

"Have you found Moore?" Lina asked.

“Found him, he’s inside. They’ve arrested him,” Daryl said. Although Moore looked terrible, at least he was still alive.

Speaking of the unlucky Moore, he did faint briefly when he was ambushed last night, but he regained consciousness within minutes when his leg was slashed open. Sean.

Tsk, not surprising. After all, he didn't consider himself to have many enemies. The closest and most prominent one was Sean.

It's all Lina's fault!

In short, Moore didn't alert the enemy, calmly continued to feign unconsciousness, and then cut the rope with his own hands.

Sean was probably thinking something, completely ignoring the chop to the neck.

Anyway, this was a good thing for Moore. The knife wound to his thigh almost made him unable to walk, and it also attracted a lot of zombies. Moore dragged his crippled leg as he fled for his life, clearing away the zombies with his knife. His gun was nowhere to be found.

There have been quite a few walkers around here lately, and with so much blood flowing from his wounds, Moore was practically a sitting duck. His knife, caught in the midst of the fight, broke its strap and fell to the ground.

Moore didn't even have time to pick it up; he could only flee in panic. He escaped one danger only to fall into another, and was captured by two Salvation Army soldiers near a building.

The only good thing is that the walkers have been cleared out, so he won't be bitten to death for the time being. The downsides, well, there are far too many downsides.

He was beaten up badly, and medical treatment was out of the question. The couple argued for a long time before deciding not to kill him for the time being and instead take him hostage.

Fortunately, he wasn't going to die anytime soon, so Moore simply let himself pass out.

Lina and Daryl made sure no one else was around, while Michonne and Rosita carried the unconscious Mor out of the building. There was no time to worry about anything else now; they had to get Mor back to Alexandria for treatment.

And Sasha, I wonder how she is?

Moor's situation was urgent, but the car was damaged and wouldn't start for a while. Rosita and Michonne stayed behind to repair the car, while Lina and Daryl carried Moor towards Tara, where their car was.

As they sped along, Tara saw Mor's ashen face and almost thought he was about to turn into a zombie. Fortunately, Daryl remembered to add that he was still breathing.

That saved Moore's life. The three of them didn't care about anything else, put Moore in the car, and hurriedly drove back.

Before leaving, he assured Leo that he would send more people over later.

Upon arriving in Alexandria, Tara naturally rushed to contact the other two communities to inform them of what had happened near the Church of Saviour, and then began to discuss with Andrea who should take over the watchtower.

Lina and Daryl carried Mor towards the infirmary. Fortunately, both Daryl and Lina had universal blood, which saved Mor's life.

However, Lina glanced at Daryl, whose bright red blood was flowing into Moore's body through a plastic tube, and asked, "Doesn't this scene seem familiar?"

Daryl looked at Lena, recalling what it had been like that night in Atlanta, only things were much better now.

“Moore has our blood in him,” Lina said mischievously to Daryl.

A hint of amusement flashed in Daryl's eyes. "Don't be silly." This is his brother, after all.

Lina shrugged, glancing at the needles on their arms, as if she said nothing, yet as if she said everything.

Never mind, anyway, Moore can't hear us.

While she was still dealing with the distressing blood transfusion, an alarm sounded in the community. Even though the alarm quickly stopped, Lina frowned, looked at Daryl, and sighed helplessly.

Daryl's expression was stern, clearly indicating that he also realized what had happened.

"You keep it, I'll go." Lina pulled out the needle and pressed on the vein in her arm. Fortunately, the two of them had already drawn enough blood for Mor to use.

"What a pity. If I were in better health, I would have smashed his head in." Lina stormed out of the infirmary with a knife in her hand, startling Dennis, who was watching the community alarm sound from the doorway.

Daryl frowned and looked towards the door, then looked at the unconscious Moore and pursed his lips. He would definitely avenge this.
