Chapter 101

Chapter 101

"What happened?" Although the walkers surrounding the area hadn't dispersed much, Maggie and Lina clearly saw them gathering towards a house.

“It’s Jesse’s house,” Maggie said with some concern.

"I hope they run fast and get back to my house," Lina glanced at the zombies and continued working. What the hell? There weren't this many zombies just now, how did so many suddenly appear? Although not all the zombies in the mine were lured away, there shouldn't be this many left.

"Damn it," Lina cursed viciously, as more and more zombies continued to emerge from the collapsed wall.

Is this a forced plot-driven death?

"Will they be alright?" Maggie looked into the distance with worry, but they were in dire straits themselves and there was nothing they could do.

The ladder they had climbed up had long been pushed away by the walkers, and now neither of them could get down. They also had to worry about whether the broken log would collapse.

“This is like a hellish dungeon,” Lina muttered. “Why isn’t Daryl back with my RPG yet?” Lina muttered softly, but because her voice was low enough, Maggie didn’t hear her clearly amidst the howls of the walkers. She assumed that Lina was still complaining about how many walkers there were.

"Honestly, did Rick's backup plan really work?" Lena asked Maggie doubtfully.

“Rick said the car broke down halfway there, but he had already led them a distance,” Maggie frowned. “It seems he only delayed their arrival here.”

This is such a damn plot-driven death.

Lina, her face ashen, looked down at the walking corpses below. "I've had enough..."

“Maggie, is that truck still outside?” Lina suddenly stopped and turned to ask Maggie.

“Yes,” Maggie nodded, then looked at Lina in horror. “No, no, there are too many walkers! You’re still injured…” She tried to calm down, but could only look at Lina in panic.

“I’m not one to sit idly by and wait to die,” Lina said, a smirk playing on her lips. “Besides, they need me.”

“…If you jump, you might twist your ankle,” Maggie tried to persuade Lina, but Lina took off her coat and handed it to Maggie, “Hold on for me, we should be about halfway down.”

“…No, I disagree. You’re throwing your life away.” Maggie shook her head and pushed Lina’s hand away.

"Then you can just watch me jump down," Lina said, clinging to the wall and looking at Maggie.

Maggie frantically pulled at her hair, "You can't force me like this..." She was on the verge of collapse. Lina quickly handed her the clothes in her hand, "Please, Maggie, while it's still light."

Maggie sighed, took Lina's coat, and handed Lina the sleeve. "You must," Maggie choked back tears, "you must be alive."

Lina nodded. "Don't worry, I'm super fierce!"

Maggie pursed her lips. "Lina, I'm pregnant."

Lina's eyes widened. "Help! Help! Help!" So, after just getting through this zombie apocalypse, the Saviors are coming? Desperate, Lina pinched her philtrum. "Let me calm down..."

Maggie licked her lips. "So, you can't leave me alone. I can't. Stay here, and we'll think of another way."

“No, no, Maggie,” Leah decided to put that troubling thought aside for now. She looked at Maggie seriously. “I have to go. We can’t hold out here for long. I can’t let you stay in such a dangerous place.”

Maggie was a little annoyed; she hadn't expected that this would actually strengthen Lina's resolve.

"...Thinking about it, I'm going to have a child too, haha, anyway, it's all Li, I'll tell him later that he's my and your child," Lina laughed smugly. "By the way, Lino and Linus... well, let's forget about Linus, it sounds like he's bald. Lino is a good name, it sounds a bit Italian... but it's a good name." Lina emphasized repeatedly.

Maggie looked at her worriedly, "Don't go..."

Lina gripped her sleeve tightly. "Don't worry,"

Maggie gripped the clothes in her hands tightly, and Lina, still holding onto the clothes, reached the center of the wall, took a deep breath, and jumped down.

The pain shot straight to the top of her head. Lina bit her lip and quickly drew her knife to clear out the surrounding zombies. Fortunately, most of them were drawn inside, so there weren't many zombies here. However, the zombies in the distance noticed Lina. Without even catching her breath, Lina quickly ran towards the parking lot.

Near the abandoned watchtower, the car was still there. Lina killed the zombies that had gathered around her, and struggled to climb into the car. Damn it, why did they have to make it so high?

As soon as she closed the car door, the windows were immediately surrounded by walkers. Lina turned the key, and the car could still start, though the fuel tank was constantly beeping. "Let's try to get it moving," Lina thought anxiously as she started the car.

This was the first time she had ever driven this kind of car, and she was very unaccustomed to it. Fortunately, it was large and very heavy, so Lina wasn't afraid of hitting walkers. When she got near the collapsed wall, Lina turned on the alarm, which was so loud it made her ears ring. After waiting for a while, Lina slowly moved the car forward, because she was out of gas.

Once the car had completely stopped, Lina glanced in the rearview mirror, opened the car door, and jumped out.

That's great, my ankle, which was hurting just now, is now completely twisted.

A large number of zombies were attracted by the sound, and Lina had no choice but to drag her leg and limp along the road in a sorry state.

Calling it a frantic run would be an exaggeration; the horde of zombies was getting closer and closer to Lina, and when Lina looked back, she almost had a heart attack.

She's also got Sean's script, thankfully she doesn't have her Otis.

Turning back, Lina gritted her teeth and continued running forward. Suddenly, an explosion sounded behind her. Lina looked back in surprise and saw that the haystack next to her had started to burn, and the house next to her was also faintly burning.

Who did it?

"Old Moore saved your life again."

Lina turned around, and there stood Moore, looking at her smugly. "Hurry up and thank old Moore..." Moore's words were cut off by Lina's hug. He patted Lina's back awkwardly. FU#K! Were his clothes a little wet? FU#K! Was she crying?

"You, you don't have to be this moved, do you?" Moore said in a panic.

“I thought you were dead,” Lina said awkwardly, wiping away her tears. She felt like the sky was falling when she woke up and heard Moore, Glenn, and Nicholas burning the hay barn in town.

In the original storyline, Nicholas was so terrified that he committed suicide, sacrificing his life to save Glenn's life. But now, the three of them... how are they supposed to survive?

I really regret not feeding Nicholas a few more bites so he could gain some weight.

"Tch, you wish," Moore scoffed. "You're still a long way off from seeing me die." Moore hoisted Lina onto his shoulder and dashed off into the nearby ruins.

A few scattered zombies have gathered here!

"It's pressing on my stomach, it's pressing on my stomach, ugh—" Lina said, patting Moore's back.

"What a nuisance!" Moore complained as he moved Norina closer. "Why are you lighter again?"

"Did you make a hole to lose weight?" Lina said.

“…You’re really courting death.” Moore said after a moment of silence.

"Hmph, we can't just stand here and wait to die," Lina said weakly. "We have to go back. Maggie is still on the wall, and that watchtower won't hold."

“Don’t worry, Glenn and his buddies are over there,” Moore said.

"How many?" Lina found it a bit strange. Who else could it be?

“Glenn, Nicholas, and a little girl, Irene’s something,” Moore said casually. “They can handle the rest themselves.”

“I need to go help,” Lina began to struggle.

"Can't you just listen to me even once?" Moore was speechless. He had thrown Lina to the ground and carried her for so long; he was tired too.

"We have to go back," Lina thought, "it feels better to be on solid ground." She grabbed her knife and was about to rush back.

"No, your wound..." Before Moore could finish speaking, the mad dog had already been unleashed.

"I must be out of my mind! Why should I care what you do? You should have just died there!" Moore cursed as he chased after him.

When they returned to Alexandria, it was already getting dark. There were still quite a few zombies, but things had improved considerably.

Lina looked towards the watchtower, which was now empty; Maggie must have already been rescued.

There weren't many walkers here, but as Lina continued forward, there were relatively more walkers inside, and they hadn't been attracted away by the noise outside.

It's too scattered.

But there are advantages to being separated. Lina picked up her knife and kept waving it around, so Moore had to stand back to back with her. The two of them killed the walkers as they went deeper into the area.

There were people in the house next door, but they didn't dare to come out. Actually, Lina was relieved. She really didn't think much of Alexander and his group of hindrances.

Not far away, Moore saw a familiar group of people, Rick and his friends, who were draped in strips of cloth.

Then Moore frowned. "Hey, something's not right." Lina turned to look, and there was Karl's eye!

"Run faster!" Lina took off running, but her abilities were limited. She looked anxiously ahead and saw that poor Karl had suffered one gunshot wound after another that was completely unjust!

Rick's group became agitated. Lina saw Sam being overwhelmed by walkers, followed by Jesse. Rick picked up an axe and chopped off Jesse's hand.

Ron picked up the gun that had fallen to the ground, and Lina pulled out her dagger and threw it at him, severing his hand. He was then overwhelmed by the walkers.

After the group reunited, Rick looked at Lina and Moore in surprise. There was no time for idle chatter. Moore dragged Lina along, and everyone ran towards the warehouse.

"My knife, my knife, my knife!!!" Lina wailed as she hacked at the zombies. She hadn't had a chance to pick up her dagger, and her heart was breaking.

"He won't have to go through a long journey to get back to me, will he? No way!" Lina kept muttering to herself.

"Fine, I'll get it back for you later, just shut up," Moore said irritably.

"What if? What if some clueless zombie takes him on a trip? My knife!!!" Lina cried out.

“Sorry, I’ll get it back for you,” Rick said.

"If I can't find it, I'll hang myself in front of you," Lina said with a mournful face.

"..." Rick's lips twitched, returning his feelings of gratitude and guilt.

"We're here! It's just ahead!" Michonne shouted, and soon the door was pulled open, a group of people rushed in, and the door was closed.

Unexpectedly, there were quite a few people inside, including Beth, Andrea, and a few strangers that Lina didn't know very well.

"Have you seen Maggie? Have you seen my dad?" Beth asked nervously, holding Lina's hand.

“Maggie should have been rescued by Glenn,” Lina reassured her. “Hershel, we haven’t seen him yet.”

"Don't worry, that old man will be fine," Moore said, panting as he sat down. He was exhausted.

Rick and his companion grabbed their guns and looked at the walkers at the door. "We have to take care of them," he said, turning to Moore and Lina. "How did you two run into them? What was that noise at the door?"

“When we came back, we saw this girl jump off the wall and drive off in that beat-up car,” Moore pointed at Lina. “If it weren’t for the great Moore lighting the hydrogen canister and using the explosion to lure the walkers away, this lame girl would have been walker food.”

Rick didn't know what to say. Luckily, no one was hurt. He rubbed his temples. "We have to fight," he took a deep breath. "I know it's hard, but we have to protect this place, protect our home."
