Chapter 99 Wenhua, I'm Back

Yin Yu cried uncontrollably, and her grief intensified whenever Qiu Chenggong was mentioned.

Seeing her sister like this, Yin Ning regretted it again.

"Alright, alright, I won't say anymore, stop crying!"

She scratched her hair, unable to contain her frustration.

Whether or not to have children was Qiu Chenggong's decision, but his work was special, and he would be away from home for one or two months at a time, so he was never home.

He said at the time that he was never home and couldn't take good care of the children, which was why he didn't want to have any more.

After much deliberation, Yin Yu finally agreed and even persuaded her parents. Who would have thought that the Qiu family would suddenly cause trouble?

Yin Ning is right. It would be best to let Qiu Chenggong handle this matter, but Qiu Chenggong won't be back for a while.

The situation reached a stalemate. Yin Yu cried for a while and then calmed down on her own.

"I'm sorry, Auntie, Wenhua, you must have seen this funny."

Pei Ying gently patted Yin Yu: "Why are you saying such formal things? We're all family. There's nothing funny about this. Your aunt is just worried about you."

I hadn't heard Yin Yu talk much about her husband's family situation before, but I knew that Qiu Chenggong was always on the go. She even remarked to Xia Wenhua that Yin Yu's awareness was really high.

Hearing the story behind this now, as a family member, she only feels heartache.

Yin Yu also wanted a child, but Qiu Chenggong's arguments were so logical and reasonable that she was eventually persuaded by him.

Even decades from now, it will be a big deal for a couple not to have children, let alone now.

It's already quite enlightened that Yin's parents were able to accept it. But Qiu Chenggong was different. He made the decision himself but failed to do any ideological work with the Ge Ali people. In the end, Yin Yu had to bear all the bitter consequences.

Yin Yu sighed, "Never mind, he's had a tough time too. I'll discuss it with my parents when they get back tonight."

Her relationship with the Qiu family is a messy, unresolved issue; there's no point in saying anything more.

Old Mrs. Qiu had said even harsher things before, but she was used to it.

Today, she ran into Xia Wenhua and Pei Ying. Xia Wenhua actually stood up for her, which made Yin Yu feel inexplicably wronged, which is why she cried.

Xia Wenhua, standing behind the group, clicked her tongue and inexplicably recalled a saying: "Don't feel sorry for men, or you'll become unhappy."

She had never met Qiu Chenggong, but from Yin Yu's few words, she had sketched out an image of a scoundrel who was ambitious but unlucky, self-important and utterly irresponsible.

Yin Yu and even Yin Ning both thought that Old Lady Qiu's trouble-making was simply because Qiu Chenggong hadn't done a good job of talking to his family, but she didn't think that was entirely true.

A person who has the courage to choose not to have children can certainly handle household chores well.

It doesn't make sense that when you first get married, the elders in your family don't need to worry about you, but suddenly they start wanting to interfere in the young couple's lives and insist on having a child.

There are probably other inside stories regarding Qiu Chenggong's decision not to have children.

Without having met the person in person or learned about their story, it's not appropriate to draw any conclusions prematurely. Xia Wenhua can only say for now.

According to Yin Yu, it seems that Old Lady Qiu always manages to find the time when Lin Aiguo and Yin Hua are not around, and after causing a scene at their house, things will calm down for a while.

Despite her impressive words and boastful attitude in front of Xia Wenhua, claiming she was waiting for Commander Yin to complain, she was actually too afraid to face Commander Yin and had never caused a scene in front of him.

The Yin sisters adjusted their mood very quickly and then asked Xia Wenhua and Pei Yinglai what was going on.

They hesitated for a moment, unsure how to say what they should have said.

The two children didn't understand the complicated thoughts of adults. When they finally heard their aunt ask a question, they immediately felt that they had entered their own territory.

"I know, I know!"

"Let me speak!"

The two children eagerly raised their hands, and Xia Wenhua couldn't help but rub her forehead, exchanging a wry smile with Pei Ying.

Since the child had already spoken up, it wouldn't be right to try and silence them, which would only make the Yin sisters overthink things. So, they simply let the child speak for them.

"Grandma has to go to work, so we need to celebrate with her. Mom asked us to invite our two aunties along!"

"Yes, we're having a big meal at home today!"

Upon hearing this, Yin Yu and Yin Ning immediately became interested.

"Should we celebrate for Auntie?"

"Great news! If you had told us sooner, we would have packed up and left right away!"

The two of them are really forgetful. They were furious just now, but as soon as they heard that they were going to celebrate with Pei Ying, they immediately became interested and were ready to pack their gifts and go along.

Since the person has already been invited, there's no need for gifts.

Xia Wenhua immediately stopped them: "No need, no need. We just want to share our joy with you. It wouldn't be right for you to bring gifts. Just come. I've almost finished preparing the gifts."

"I see you don't have anything urgent to do, how about we go together?"

Yin Ning immediately shook her head: "That won't do. How can such a big event be completed without a gift? You guys go back first, we'll pack up and come right away."

Despite Pei Ying's repeated persuasion, the two insisted on preparing gifts before going.

"We're family, so let's not be so formal. My mom actually prepared a gift to give to my aunt tomorrow."

Since Sister Wenhua said you want to celebrate, I'll just tell my mom to bring the gift.

"It's true, you can ask my mom if you don't believe me, we're not lying."

They spoke with such seriousness, almost as if they were swearing an oath. Xia Wenhua and Pei Ying exchanged a glance, and they had no choice but to believe them.

Xia Wenhua and Pei Ying went back to pack first. The two children said they wanted to play with the aunts from the Yin family. Yin Yu and Yin Ning were both willing to take care of them, so they left the children at the Yin family's house.

I usually get up early this morning and have almost finished packing.

Xia Wenhua had already prepared the menu: six hot dishes and six cold dishes, catering to the tastes of three generations of the family, ensuring that Pei Ying would have a truly enjoyable celebration.

Around 11 o'clock, Xia Wenhua had served most of her cold and hot dishes. Just as she was about to serve the last dish, she heard the sound of a car outside.

"Has the person arrived? I'll go out and check."

Pei Ying's stomach was already rumbling from the irresistible aroma of the dishes. The more fragrant the food was, the more she could feel Xia Wenhua's dedication, and the smile on her lips never faded.

As soon as the car started running, she rushed out, like a child eager to share their toy with someone.

Xia Wenhua smiled, poured the last dish into a plate, took off her apron, and carried the plate out.

Just as she was leaving, the people outside came in.

As soon as the plate was placed on the table, Xia Wenhua smiled and was about to greet the person who had come, but she froze on the spot the moment she turned around.

Pei Songbai, dressed in military uniform, stood at the entrance of the courtyard with a bright smile.

"Wenhua, I'm back."
