Chapter 1 Seize the opportunity to get pregnant and secure your position as Mrs. Chen
Shen Jiheng has returned to China.
In the three years since their marriage, this was the longest business trip he had ever taken, lasting a full three months.
Han Xi was woken up early by a phone call from the Shen family's old residence. The old lady earnestly admonished her: "Pay attention, hurry up, and try to get pregnant tonight so you can secure your position as Mrs. Shen."
In the evening, Han Xi finished cooking the last dish, just as Shen Jiheng arrived home.
The man's eyes turned slightly cold as he looked at the dishes on the table.
Stir-fried pork kidneys, stir-fried eggs with chives, kale and yam, oysters, lamb testicles...
Everything was highly nutritious, but each dish seemed to be a reminder that "it's not good enough" for him.
Han Xi greeted him with a smile, considerately helping him take off his suit jacket, looking every bit the virtuous wife and loving mother. "Honey, you're back? You must be hungry. Let's eat first."
Hearing the soft "husband" from Shen Jiheng, his temples throbbed. He reached out and pulled out the dining chair, his expression cool and serious.
Han Xi obediently served him rice, then added a few slices of pork kidney and lamb testicles to his bowl, and then looked at him affectionately.
Shen Jiheng's jaw tightened, his long fingers tapping the noodles in the bowl as he stared at Han Xi with deep, dark eyes. "I've only been gone for three months, and you already want a man that badly?"
Hearing the harsh words, Han Xi's smile froze slightly, but she quickly regained her composure and mocked, "The old family is eager to have a grandson, and you're always away on business trips. If you don't make the most of your time at home, do you expect to come back one day and become a father by accident?"
Shen Jiheng: "..."
This woman is still the same; she seems docile, but she's actually sharp-tongued!
Han Xi wasn't annoyed to see that he wasn't eating. Instead, she brought him a bowl of nourishing soup from the kitchen and walked over to his side.
Shen Jiheng's face was so dark it could drip ink. He suddenly grabbed Han Xi's slender arm. Before Han Xi could react, she was pulled into the man's arms.
"ah……"
She suddenly lost her balance and sat directly on his lap, her hands instinctively wrapping around his neck.
Looking up, Han Xi met Shen Jiheng's dangerous and captivating eyes, and her heart skipped a beat.
She turned her head away without making a sound, her face flushed red to her ears, and said in an unnatural tone, "Let go of me, let's eat."
Shen Jiheng picked her up and walked towards the bedroom with his long legs. His voice was deep but pleasant: "Even if you don't eat those things, I can still satisfy you!"
After the door slammed shut, Han Xi was pressed against the door.
"Wait...wait a minute..."
Ignoring her resistance, a barrage of kisses swept over her, and her thin dress fell to the ground with a tearing sound.
Han Xi's body went limp, and she helplessly let Shen Jiheng do as he pleased. When the passion reached its peak, she was picked up and placed on the bed.
The indoor temperature did not drop because of the darkness; a few drops of sweat fell on her face, mingling with the man's panting breath.
She didn't know how much time had passed, so long that her voice became hoarse and tired, and she had no choice but to beg for forgiveness and admit her mistake before Shen Jiheng was satisfied.
The man turned on the bedside lamp, illuminating his sharply defined face.
"Do you still think I need those dishes?" he whispered in her ear. His tone was perfectly serious, but his deep voice made Han Xi feel as if a feather had been brushed against her heart.
She was panting, and weakly shook her head, wanting to say no, but she was too tired to utter a single word.
Shen Jiheng didn't hear her reply and directly pulled her back to the battlefield...
Han Xi felt like her back was about to be broken. In the three years of their marriage, this was the only time they seemed to be in harmony.
It was as if she were the person he cherished most in his heart, someone he longed to tear apart and crush, and then merge into his body.
...
Han Xi doesn't remember how she fell asleep. Her phone rang, and she answered it groggily.
"Ji Heng, it's so cold in the hospital, I'm so scared, can you come and keep me company?"
The soft, sweet female voice on the phone seemed to pierce Han Xi's nerves, and she suddenly opened her eyes, fully awake.
She answered the wrong phone, Shen Jiheng's; the phone number on the screen was labeled "Xixi".
Gu Hanxi!
That white moonlight who once disrupted her wedding with Shen Jiheng, and whom Shen Jiheng cherished dearly!
She was in a car accident and became a vegetable, so... could it be...?
In a daze, Shen Jiheng had already woken up. The man looked at Han Xi with sleepy eyes, and finally his gaze fell on the lit phone screen.
Almost instantly, Shen Jiheng's gaze turned as cold and sharp as an eagle. He took the phone from Han Xi's hand, got up, and went straight into the bathroom.
Han Xi heard his gentle and indulgent voice as he answered the phone: "What is it?"
"Don't cry, I'm coming right away."
His attitude was unusually gentle, completely opposite to how he usually treated me.
Han Xi felt a shriveled pain in her heart as she watched Shen Jiheng hurriedly get dressed after coming out of the bathroom.
As if possessed, she reached out and grabbed the hem of his shirt. "Shen Jiheng, don't go."
