Chapter 111 is not like him.

Chapter 111 Not Like Him

Shen Jiheng clenched his fists tightly, and the sound of his joints cracking could be heard.

Gu Beichen had seen him fight before, and although he knew he wouldn't go so far as to harm them, he was still frightened by his appearance.

He pulled Han Yuxuan behind him, snatched the bag from his hand, and threw it to Qin Chuan.

Gu Beichen quickly smiled apologetically: "Ji Heng, we're all family, don't be angry, please don't be angry. My son came back from abroad and doesn't know how to behave properly, please forgive him."

Seeing that Han Yuxuan was about to speak, he quickly covered his mouth. If they really angered this big shot, they might not be able to go home today.

Other kids would run far away from Shen Jiheng, but he just kept walking into the line of fire.

Shen Jiheng naturally didn't want to argue with a child, but he couldn't understand why Gu Beichen's son was so hostile towards him.

Could it be that this guy said something bad about me behind my back that caused this?

Gu Beichen felt guilty when he met Han Yuxuan's gaze. He couldn't blame himself; he had no idea Han Yuxuan would say such things.

After Qin Chuan finished his inspection and confirmed that there were no problems, he reported back.

"President, the item is indeed the chip we lost, there's no problem."

Shen Jiheng waved his hand: "You can take him back now."

Gu Beichen nodded with a smile, covered Han Yuxuan's mouth with one hand, and picked him up with the other.

Now he understands the look Han Xi gave him back then; this kid is really hard to deal with.

Han Yuxuan couldn't speak, but still pointed at the tied-up car.

He helped this uncle that day because he felt that the uncle was not a bad person. Everyone makes mistakes, and now that he has made amends, he should be forgiven.

Shen Jiheng felt a strange sensation upon seeing the child's reaction, as if a string in his heart was vibrating within him.

"Fine, untie the rope and get him out of Chongqing. I don't want to see him again."

Qin Chuan looked incredulous. What Che Yuan had done this time had thoroughly enraged Shen Jiheng. Given his temper, he would definitely make him disappear without a trace.

The decision to release the person based on a child's words is really unlike his usual style.

Gu Beichen paused upon hearing this, and could only say that the father and son were of one mind.

He didn't dare linger and strode out with the child in his arms.

Gu Beichen had just reached the door when someone called out to him, "Isn't this Beichen? I thought I was seeing things. Why are you in such a hurry?"

Gu Beichen shuddered and stiffly turned around. Madam Shen waved to greet him.

Today was truly a thrilling day!

Gu Beichen grinned and subconsciously pressed the child's head against his chest.

"Auntie, it's been a long time!"

"Why are you here? I don't know what Ji Heng is busy with in the backyard. He won't let us get close."

"Ji Heng has caught a traitor in the company and is interrogating him. Auntie, you'd better not go."

Madam Shen sighed upon hearing this. She had also heard that things had been going turbulently at the company recently, and Shen Jiheng must be under a lot of pressure.

She nodded, looked at the child in his arms, and asked curiously, "Who is the child in your arms?"

Gu Beichen raised her arm to try to cover the child's face and said with a smile, "This is my son. He came to see Ji Heng about something and is now finished and about to go back. Auntie, I'll be going now."

Madam Shen couldn't help but sigh, even Gu Beichen had a child, while her rebellious son was still single.

"Seeing how anxious you are, I won't try to stop you. Come over and have a chat sometime."

Gu Beichen nodded in acknowledgment, then quickly carried the child away.

Han Yuxuan curiously crawled out of his arms. Madam Shen was about to turn around when she froze. That little face looked so much like her son when he was a child.

By the time Madam Shen came to her senses, Gu Beichen had already driven away with the child. She chased after him until the car was nowhere to be seen.

The resemblance was so striking, it was like a miniature version, leaving her speechless for a long time.

Han Xi was restless at home, constantly enveloped by negative emotions.

Hearing the car stop in the yard, she quickly ran out and breathed a sigh of relief when she saw Gu Beichen getting out of the car with the child in his arms.

"Mom, we're back."

Han Xi gently rubbed his head and said, "Mom made some cookies and put them on the table. Go and try them."

Han Yuxuan covered her stomach and smiled sweetly, "I'm still a little hungry, so I'll go in first."

Han Xi waved to him and immediately asked after the child went inside.

"Is everything going smoothly? Has anything happened?"

Gu Beichen said somewhat guiltily, "Nothing much happened originally, I just ran into your aunt when I was leaving."

Han Xi became nervous, and Gu Beichen quickly said, "Don't panic. She didn't see the child's face, and the two didn't touch each other. Nothing will happen. Besides, even if she finds something wrong, I'll insist that Yuxuan is my son, and there's nothing she can do about it."

These words calmed Han Xi down; perhaps she had been overly nervous.

"No matter what, we should avoid meeting them in the future."

"I know that."

Han Xi sighed; after a tense afternoon, she had finally gotten through this ordeal.

The next day, Han Xi arrived at the entrance of Shen's Group with information about the new project.

She originally wanted to hand over the project to the marketing department, but she had been handling all the negotiations herself. After all, it would be unprofessional to let someone who didn't know the details handle a project worth hundreds of millions.

Han Xi took a deep breath and repeatedly convinced herself that it was just a business deal and that she should treat the other party as an ordinary person.

Just as she was about to go inside, a pleasant voice suddenly came from behind her.

“You’ve been standing here for a long time.”

Han Xi was startled and dodged to the side, turning back to glare at the culprit, unaware that Shen Jiheng had appeared behind her at some point.

"Mr. Shen's frightening habit is not good."

"I was just trying to be helpful by reminding Mr. Han when he seemed distracted."

Han Xi rolled her eyes; she didn't want to start arguing before even discussing cooperation.

Shen Jiheng gestured for him to proceed.

"Don't be angry so early in the morning, let's go!"

Han Xi raised his head and walked in, determined not to lose in terms of momentum.

Shen Jiheng lowered his head, covered his mouth with his hand, and coughed lightly to hide the smile on his face.

His previous efforts were not in vain; at least Han Xi came to his side on her own initiative.

Whatever the reason, at least the two are now linked together.

To their surprise, when they arrived at Shen Jiheng's office, they found someone already waiting for them.

When Han Xi saw the person who came, he was also surprised, and Madam Shen stood up excitedly.

"Han Xi? When did you get back? Why didn't you come to visit your aunt and grandma? We missed you so much."

Since seeing the child in Gu Beichen's arms yesterday, Madam Shen couldn't sleep all night. She even dug out photos of Shen Jiheng when he was a child to compare, and the more she looked, the more he resembled him.

So, as soon as it was light, she rushed to Shen Jiheng's company, intending to tell him about it in person.

Seeing Han Xi appear with him further confirmed her suspicions: the child's identity was definitely not simple.

Han Xi smiled awkwardly, "Auntie, what a coincidence! I've only been back for two days. I was planning to visit you after I've settled in. How is Grandma?"

Although it was just a polite remark, Han Xi had indeed considered visiting the two elders, after all, they had treated her well back then.

Madam Shen nodded with tears in her eyes: "We are all fine, we just miss you so much."
