Chapter 14 Be Good

Chapter 14 Be Good

Han Xi remained unmoved.

She heard a soft rustling sound as a man drank porridge. Then, in a moment, she felt a huge face close to hers. Her eyes widened, and realizing the man's intention, Han Xi reached out and pushed Shen Jiheng away.

Shen Jiheng swallowed the porridge in his mouth. "If you're angry with me, you don't have to starve yourself. Do you want to eat by yourself or have me feed you?"

Han Xi was trembling with anger.

Her fighting ability was already inferior to Shen Jiheng's, let alone her current crippled state, she might suffer a second injury.

Open your mouth, bite the straw, and drink.

The more I drank, the more suffocated I felt.

If this man really stopped caring about her at all, it would actually make her feel better.

But it was precisely this slow, dull grinding that made her feel even more suffocated and miserable.

After finishing his porridge, Shen Jiheng cleaned up the trash, took a thin blanket, and lay down on the sofa.

At this time, having to share a room with him only made Han Xi's pent-up frustration even more difficult to dissipate.

Early the next morning, Qin Chuan delivered a stack of documents.

Han Xi noticed that Shen Jiheng hadn't left the ward at all. Was he going to stay by her side and wait for her to get better, to prevent her from calling the police?

As noon approached, Han Xi kept glancing at the doorway.

Zhuo Qingqian did not appear until Qin Chuan came in with a lunchbox.

One day, two days...

On the third day, Han Xi noticed something was wrong. After arguing and scolding Shen Jiheng, she spoke her first words to the man, "Did you do something to prevent Zhuo Qingqian from coming to the hospital so that I wouldn't have time to call the police?"

Shen Jiheng, who was sitting on the sofa flipping through documents, paused for a moment, then looked up at the woman lying on the bed. "So you better behave, or I might do something else."

He did indeed pull some strings, but it was entirely beneficial to their law firm.

"Don't touch Zhuo Qingqian!" Han Xi jumped up and down. If she had the strength to act right now, she would definitely tear Shen Jiheng apart!

Qin Chuan, who was setting out food at the coffee table, sighed inwardly. Why was the president doing this? Why couldn't he just tell his wife the truth instead of having to create such a tense situation?

"Whether I touch her or not still depends on you, doesn't it?" Shen Jiheng took the juice, put on the straw, walked to the bedside, and held it to Han Xi's lips.

"I am also extremely honored to have become a resident of the hospital thanks to Mr. Shen's mistress. I have received Mr. Shen's personal and attentive care as my caregiver. For the first time in three years, I have enjoyed Mr. Shen's constant presence by my side for several days."

Han Xi sipped her juice, mocking the man.

Shen Jiheng didn't care. After feeding her the juice, he handed her the dark rice cereal to drink, saying, "Eat more so you'll have the energy to keep cursing."

Qin Chuan didn't want to listen to the two of them making sarcastic remarks to each other, so he took the extra lunchbox and went to the next ward to deliver food to Gu Hanxi.

Just a few minutes later, a woman screamed.

"Call Shen Jiheng over to keep me company! Otherwise, I'll die right here!"

Gu Hanxi thought about it all night. Now that she was pregnant, Shen Jiheng still refused to divorce her. He even threatened her with the fact that she had hired someone to commit violence, telling her not to cause any more trouble.

Why?! Why should she, heavily pregnant, plan for him to do what he wanted, while Han Xi enjoyed everything that should have been hers?

If she's having a hard time, then nobody else should have a good time either!

After finishing the last sip of Han Xi's rice porridge, she looked at Shen Jiheng with a leisurely air and said in a light tone, "It seems that serving one person is not enough for President Shen, so I have to continue serving another one."

Shen Jiheng's hand, gripping the rice paste cup, was taut, veins bulging, but his feet moved towards the ward door without hesitation.

Han Xi deliberately didn't want the man to have a moment's peace. "Shen Jiheng, if you don't leave this room, I might still have some hope for this marriage."

Shen Jiheng stopped in his tracks. His eyes, red from lack of rest for several days, turned to look at Han Xi. "Are you going to force me too?"

"You're the one who's forcing me," Han Xi said softly.

She noticed Shen Jiheng's exhaustion.

But this exhaustion was of his own making.

Caught between two women, he couldn't bear to let go of either of them.

Screams were coming from the next ward, but this ward was completely silent.

Shen Jiheng stared at Han Xi, trying to see if she still had any feelings for him in her eyes. Han Xi was also looking at him, but her eyes were cold and devoid of any of the affection she once had.

After a long silence, Shen Jiheng finally gave in. He clenched his fist lightly and said, "I'll have Qin Chuan revise the agreement tomorrow and bring it to you."
