Chapter 190: Furious

Chapter 190 Furious

Shen Jiheng was initially angry about Han Xi's concealment, feeling that he had done so much for her but still couldn't win her heart.

She was also angry that the Gu family helped her deceive herself and completely disregarded him.

However, upon learning about Han Xi's circumstances back then, Shen Jiheng felt deeply ashamed.

He was the one who made Han Xi leave with a broken heart back then, so what right does he have to blame her for hiding things from him?

Shen Jiheng was just thinking about how disappointed Han Xi must have been in him for her to make that decision in the first place.

Madam Shen sighed softly: "Things always need to be resolved. So what are your plans for the future?"

Shen Jiheng calmly replied, "Yu Mo is withdrawn and introverted, and needs guidance. I want to spend more time with her so that she can live like a normal person."

Madam Shen patted his shoulder, and could tell that he already had a plan in mind.

"Then let's do it your way. We absolutely cannot let Han Xi be sad again this time. If there's anything we can help you with, just let us know."

"There's no need to do anything for now, so as not to put pressure on her."

Madam Shen nodded: "That's fine, but you can't just lock yourself in your room like this. You still have to take action. I believe you can bring them back."

Previously, Shen Jiheng was genuinely determined to win Han Xi back.

But after learning about the child's situation, he felt lost.

If he could take on the suffering that Han Xi endured, Shen Jiheng would accept it without hesitation.

But Han Xi bore all those hardships alone...

"All I want now is for her to be happy."

In this situation, Madam Shen could not comfort him and could only tell him to think things through before making a decision.

However, upon receiving such good news, Madam Shen would definitely go back to tell the old lady as soon as possible to make her happy.

After hearing this, the old lady felt as if she were dreaming. She pinched herself several times and only believed it was true when she felt the pain.

“Wife, what are we waiting for? Ji Heng did something wrong and is too scared to go, but we haven’t wronged Han Xi. Let’s go see the child right away.”

The old lady was naturally the most excited, and she pulled her towards the door.

Madam Shen pulled her back and patted her chest to calm her down.

“Mom, I completely understand how you feel, but Ji Heng also said that we shouldn’t do anything rash now, lest Han Xi think we’re trying to fight for custody.”

The old lady calmed down after hearing this, and she wiped away her tears.

"That's the great-grandson I've always dreamed of. I never expected it to be twins, a boy and a girl. Han Xi is really amazing. I need to thank her properly."

"She's really worked so hard, we need to make it up to her."

The old lady grasped her hand and nodded excitedly. To avoid making Han Xi overthink things, she suppressed her excitement and quickly asked Madam Shen to show her the child's photo.

The Gu family compound was unusually quiet tonight.

The two children, tired from playing, had already fallen asleep. Han Xi stood on the balcony gazing at the starry sky, her feelings a mix of emotions.

She knew that once the Shen family found out about the child, things would definitely get complicated. Right now, things seemed calm, but she didn't know what awaited them.

A coat was draped over her shoulders, and Zhuo Qingqian said with concern, "The weather is getting colder now. You've been standing on the balcony for quite a while without even putting on a coat."

Han Xi grabbed her coat and pulled it tighter around herself, saying with a wry smile, "I was so engrossed in thinking that I forgot I was cold. Now that you mention it, I do feel that the wind is a bit biting tonight."

Zhuo Qingqian took her hand and led her back into the house. "I know you must be worried about the child. These are things you'll have to face sooner or later, so take this opportunity to resolve them properly."

Han Xi sighed. Of course, she knew she would have to face it sooner or later, but this was not the right time.

"I think this is too much of a coincidence."

Zhuo Qingqian glanced at the door and whispered, "You mean your aunt said it on purpose? She hasn't been in a good mental state lately. She was anxious about losing her child, so it's normal for her to say those things. Are you blaming her?"

Han Xi patted her arm to correct her.

“I’m not blaming her, it’s just that things suddenly turned out this way, it was completely unexpected. I just hope nothing else will happen, you know what I’m worried about.”

"Don't worry, Shen Jiheng is a human being. He should clearly remember that what happened back then was his fault. You risked your life to keep the child and give the Shen family an heir. He shouldn't hate you, but should be grateful."

Zhuo Qingqian took a positive view of the matter. Nothing happened all day, which meant that Shen Jiheng had come to terms with it.

"That would be for the best. If he fights with me for custody, I will absolutely not give up."

"Of course, you not only have the Gu family backing you up, but also the entire law firm will be your support."

Han Xi couldn't help but laugh at her imposing manner. Only Zhuo Qingqian could make her relax at this moment. She just hoped that everything was as she said and that the Shen family would not have any problems.

After a peaceful night, Han Xi took her two children downstairs for breakfast in the morning. Just as she sat down, she heard a commotion outside the door.

Han Xi comforted the two children and told them to eat first. Curious, she went outside and ran into Gu Beichen, who was returning in a huff.

"Brother, what's the situation outside?"

Gu Beichen said angrily, "It's my uncle who came. He shamelessly said he wanted to take his grandson back, and that the Shen family was preparing to sue for custody of the siblings."

Han Xi's worst fears came true; just hearing those words made her furious.

"Was it Shen Qingzhou's idea, or Shen Jiheng's?"

"Ji Heng didn't come. It must be that Uncle made the decision on his own. That man is really cunning. It's not his place to interfere in the child's affairs."

Han Xi said coldly, "But if Shen Jiheng hadn't told him, how would he have known about the child? Perhaps he didn't want to take matters into his own hands, so he sent someone else to snatch it from him."

These words left Gu Beichen speechless. Given Shen Jiheng's personality, he was indeed capable of doing such a thing.

Everyone knows that the old lady of the Shen family is eager to have a grandson, and now that she knows the child exists, she definitely can't wait any longer.

Gu Beichen tried to look on the bright side and reassured her, "Han Xi, don't worry. I just came back to call Ji Heng and ask him about the situation. If it has nothing to do with him, it's best to let him handle this."

"What if he finds out?" It's no wonder Han Xi is worried in this situation.

Gu Beichen sighed as he heard the commotion at the door. If that was really the case, then it would be troublesome.

Hearing the commotion grow louder, Han Xi frowned and said, "Then go ahead and hit him. Find out what's going on, and I'll go meet that person."

If Shen Jiheng really wants the child back, then she should confront her directly; there's no need for this person to annoy her.

Seeing that things were about to escalate, Gu Beichen quickly ran back to his room and called Shen Jiheng.

He tried calling Shen Jiheng several times but got no answer, which made him very anxious.

Han Xi walked to the door and saw Shen Qingzhou shouting with several bodyguards.

“That’s my grandson. If you stop me from going in, don’t blame me for being impolite.”

Han Xi interrupted him as soon as he finished speaking, asking sternly, "I'd like to know, how exactly are you going to be impolite? Coming to someone's door early in the morning to cause trouble and disturb the peace, I can call the police and have you arrested."
