Chapter 201 The Strong Don't Need to Rush
Gu Hongyi is a well-known filial son in Chongqing. Many wealthy couples move out to live separately after marriage, but he decided to live with his parents in order to take care of them.
Ding Shan gave birth to a son and a daughter for him, who were the apple of the eyes of the two elderly people.
The family was originally happy and harmonious, but Gu Hanxi's subsequent actions completely broke the old man's heart, which is why he forbade anyone to help Gu Hanxi when she was imprisoned four years ago.
Now that Gu Hanxi is dead, Ding Shan blames everything on Shen Jiheng and vows to make him pay the price.
However, Shen Jiheng is intelligent and has a powerful background, so it is not easy to shake him.
"I heard from the maid that Shen Jiheng is moving in. Is that true?"
"Han Xi mentioned to me that Yu Mo likes to be close to him, and that spending more time together is good for the child. I agree. If you feel uncomfortable having an outsider in the house, we will move out as planned."
Ding Shan quickly shook her head. Since Shen Jiheng had come to her door, how could she move out?
It seems like even God is creating opportunities for her, giving her more time to deal with her enemies.
"No need. I've calmed down now. It's too lonely living outside. It's more lively with everyone."
Gu Hongyi put his arm around her shoulder with relief; everything he had done was to soothe his wife's wounded heart.
Now that Ding Shan has returned to her well-mannered and knowledgeable self, he no longer needs to worry about her losing control of her emotions.
"Then it's your idea. I'll go out and talk to them first."
Ding Shan nodded with a smile. Since Shen Jiheng had moved in, she should find a way to prepare a big gift for him and make him pay the price for the death of his precious daughter.
Shen Jiheng sensed a strange gaze and looked into the room, where he met Ding Shan's eyes. Although there was some distance between them, he could feel that the gaze was unfriendly.
Seeing his serious expression, Han Xi followed his gaze into the house and asked curiously, "Why are you staring at my aunt?"
Shen Jiheng shook his head, unable to describe the feeling, and just smiled.
"Nothing. By the way, is your aunt feeling any better?"
"It's almost fully recovered, and it hasn't gotten out of control again."
Shen Jiheng frowned slightly. In his mind, patients with mental health issues needed long-term treatment.
If someone like Ding Shan recovered after only one visit to the hospital, there are only two possibilities.
Either she's deliberately causing trouble for no reason, or she's just putting on a brave face.
Shen Jiheng suggested, "We should pay more attention to her situation. After all, her family consists of elderly people and children. If something happens, it will be too late to regret it."
Shen Jiheng's concerns were not without merit. Judging from Ding Shan's previous outbursts, even adults couldn't withstand them, let alone the elderly and children.
Han Xi hadn't expected him to bring up these questions, but he kept them to himself.
"I'll give the instructions. Now I'll show you the room."
Hearing this, Shen Jiheng was in a great mood and dared to say something behind her.
"It would be even better if I could share a room with you."
Han Xi turned around and rolled her eyes at him, scolding, "You wish! Your purpose here is to make my daughter better. If you don't work, I'll kick you out."
Shen Jiheng nodded, both amused and exasperated: "In that case, I really am a bit pitiful."
Han Xi led him to the room, but Shen Jiheng was more concerned about where she and the child lived.
"You are staying in a room."
"I refuse to answer this question, and it's not your place to ask it. You should familiarize yourself with the environment first, and tell the housekeeper if you have any needs."
Shen Jiheng wasn't angry about being rejected. Since he was already living there, he would have plenty of opportunities to get closer to her.
When Han Xi turned around, a smile appeared on her face. She no longer resisted the person's approach as she had initially, and she felt quite good about it.
The next day.
Good news came from Qin Chuan at dawn: he had successfully transferred Fu Jiao to Hengtian Hospital, and she had woken up and was waiting for Shen Jiheng's instructions.
Now Shen Jiheng had a good reason to knock on Han Xi's door. Living under the same roof, he only needed to ask where she lived.
"Knock knock knock, Han Xi, wake up! There's something new!"
Upon hearing this, Han Xi suddenly opened her eyes, wrapped herself in her bathrobe, and ran to open the door.
Shen Jiheng noticed that her hair was disheveled and her eyes were blurry, indicating that she hadn't woken up yet.
"Tell me what's going on."
Shen Jiheng did not respond and walked into the room without making a sound. His eyes swept around the room and saw that the interior was simply furnished. Her taste really had not changed at all.
Han Xi urged, "Just say what you have to say quickly, you're making me anxious."
Shen Jiheng said calmly, "Fu Jiao has woken up at Hengtian Hospital. I came here specifically to inform you."
Upon hearing this, Han Xi said urgently, "Since you're both awake, let's go there immediately to avoid any unforeseen complications. Besides, how can you remain so calm about something so serious?"
Seeing his slow, deliberate manner, Han Xi really wanted to whip him from behind.
Shen Jiheng smiled and said, "Because everything is under control, the strong don't need to rush."
Han Xi was amused by his annoyance and rolled her eyes at him, telling him to figure it out himself. In this situation, they had to find out the truth from Fu Jiao in order to quell the storm.
"This powerful person requests that you leave immediately, as I need to change my clothes before going out."
Shen Jiheng liked that the room was filled with Han Xi's scent. He sat on the sofa with his arms crossed and his eyes closed.
"Don't worry, I promise I won't look at it."
Han Xi gritted her teeth; this person was forcing her.
Han Xi strode forward, grabbed Shen Jiheng's arm, and threw him out. He wouldn't listen to reason and insisted on forcing her to take action. This person's skin is getting thicker and thicker.
"Han Xi, you are more rude now than before."
“If you keep talking nonsense, I’ll get even ruder, so shut up.”
Shen Jiheng shrugged. This way of getting along seemed pretty good, and it was quite refreshing early in the morning.
At Hengtian Hospital, the agent woke up and wanted to leave, making a scene at the door with a pale face.
Qin Chuan would not release the person until Shen Jiheng arrived.
"This is illegal imprisonment. Let me go now, or I'll call the police."
Qin Chuan stood at the door and said firmly, "Miss Fu, the president is on his way. We will not let you leave without his orders."
The agent angrily swung her fist, but her weak body made her punches as weak as cotton, posing no threat whatsoever.
Hearing footsteps in the corridor, the agent hurriedly retreated and lay back on the hospital bed, covering his head with the blanket, not wanting to see anyone.
Shen Jiheng walked to the door and asked, "How is she?"
"I made a fuss for a while, and when I heard you guys coming, I hid in bed." Qin Chuan gave a knowing look; judging from the manager's reaction, he knew things weren't simple.
Shen Jiheng went in and saw the person under the covers trembling.
Han Xi and Shen Jiheng exchanged glances, and he nodded slightly, indicating that Han Xi would communicate with her.
"Sister Jiao, I believe you already know about Ai Bao'er's death from falling from the building. I have some questions I'd like to ask you."
"I don't know anything, so don't ask me."
Han Xi, of course, wouldn't agree to her request and instead asked the crucial question directly: "You and Ai Bao'er have been together all along, so you should know the real cause of her death. Was she murdered?"
